Happy Palm Sunday everyone! Have a beautiful, bright and blessed day today!!🌴✝️🙏🌴✝️🙏🌴
Jesus has arrived in Jerusalem, and the most important week in the history of the world has commenced. Thank-you Jesus for loving us that much even though we don't deserve it. God Bless 🥰
You too 😊
Wow! had to comment because of muzik 😊
I used to be a cake decorator and have just gotten back into it to gift friends and a few neighbors. No more wedding cakes for now. The cake mixes have really gone up in price so I tried the great value white and devils food cake mixes at $1 at our local Walmart. My husband last night complimented the taste of the devils food. I told him that’s the Walmart brand. He was surprised. I do add 4 eggs instead of 3 and milk instead of water. Taste more like a bakery cake. Just wanted to add my 2 cents in case anyone is interested. And as a side note… if you cut up an old towel into several long 4” wide strips, wet them and squeeze the water out, fold lengthwise and wrap around each cake pan with the folded edge up so the fabric bits don’t get into the pan. Secure them with a binder clip or pin. This will keep the sides from cooking too fast and will give you a level cake with no center hump.
Thanks for the tips on milk instead of water, and four eggs instead of three.
I have a set of those Wilton cake strips and they really do work for a level cake
Do you add less liquid when you add an extra egg?
@@americafirst9144 No I don’t change anything else as far as liquid ingredients. It comes out beautiful and moist.
The great value products were one of the best and cheapest but since the inflation, they are not so cheap now but the quality is still there, I’m a big fan of great value products.
I just retired from Walmart after 22 years and can't bring myself to even step foot inside even though the price and quality of Great Value is so good
Whipping Cream prices EVERYWHERE are ridiculous 😡
Happy Palm Sunday everyone.
Be careful with the vinegar...they lowered the percentage of it ..for those who buy preseason of canning.
The Great Value @ $1.97 just like Olive Garden's dressing, can't tell the difference.
It used to be 98¢, was a regular monthly staple 1 1/2 yrs ago.
Really !,, I’ll have to try it !
I want you and Jess to know how much I appreciate all the work you put in for these videos.
Great Value has allergen warnings on frozen veggies, nuts etc. May contain wheat, read labels if you have to be gluten free. Aldi ice cream has it too.
People are boycotting Walmart because of the toxins in food, and getting rid of staff to replace with all self check out
Great Value flour is good… I bake cake, cookies, breads, biscuits and more with it. I’m at 8500ft in the mountains which is an issue when baking, and gv flour pulls through every time. Used it for over a decade. Have a fabulous day everybody! ❤
One of my favorites 👍👍
Great Value spicy brown mustard is my total favorite. Really good
With the GV Dijon I have to squirt out liquid before I can use it. Is the spicy mustard thick?
@@americafirst9144 u do have 2 shake the bottle first, otherwise the liquid does tend to separate. :(
GV whole milk yogurt in the 32 oz is fabulous. Add your own fruit and sweetener. It’s a huge savings.
Good Morning, Danno and Jess and hope you’re having a wonderful weekend. I went to our Walmart yesterday. I saw a box of 20 Oz cereal by Kellogg’s for $8.62. It was called EXTRA Crispy Clusters. I thought it was crazy! Another guy had 6 cases of vegetables in his cart of peas, carrots, corn and green beans like he was stocking up. Our Bigelow rea there was 20 tea bags for $4.88. So, it’s beyond inflated here. God Bless and Happy Palm Sunday to your families!
Good morning and Happy Palm's sunday.
Praise God!
Budget Tip: stale rolls can be refreshed and edible by sprinkling a little water over them and wrap in tin foil and warm in oven for a little while. Stale crackers and chips can be refreshed and edible by warming in oven on a baking sheet to remove moisture for about 10 - 20 minutes. Old rubbery celery or limp lettuce can be refreshed and edible by soaking in ice water in the fridge for about 30 minutes before use. Also: free up fridge space by learning what products don't need refrigeration, such as peanut butter and worcestershire sauce, etc.
yup ppl 2 lazy 2 do that
Eggs come down for Easter and then go right back up. As a general rule.
Down? They're $4.09 a dozen at Family Fare in Upper Peninsula Michigan
I am not a coffee drinker but i saw when you pointed out the 48 kcups at $16.47 the price of the 96 pods. if you can afford it maybe buy the 96 ones instead, they were $28.62 i believe and if you were to buy 2 48cups one you will be spending about $5 more.
yes i have heard people say they cannot afford more but if you cut something out for that week then you can eventually turn that corner and get more for your money. instead of buying the smaller coffee every week and everything else in smaller lots maybe you cut out 1 or 2 items this week and buy the bigger package and then next week you won't need to buy it and then you will have that much more to buy something else in a bigger package and eventually you are buying in bulk every time you shop but buying different products and if you time that bigger purchase on those sales items, you can have more yet.
so many times people buy just enough for that week and do it every week but they spend so much more that way. i see it all the time when i use to work at the store. and it is always the same excuse that is all they can afford but they just don't realize they spend more that way. i watched an older lady buy 4 small cans of beans every week for about a year but she could have brought the next size up and brought only 2 for less money and have more beans to eat. i tried pointng it out to her one day but nope, she couldn't afford that price but she could afford the small cans but she was spending more. didn't make sense to me. so i just handed her 4 cans every week when she came in off the top shelf that she struggle to reach. i tried to save her money.
I don't know why people buy the kpods to begin with, I bought kpod filters on Amazon and have saved a ton of money just buying the GV coffee grounds and reusing the filter
Good morning, beautiful Sunday!!! ❤
I love their Great Value ice cream. They're $2.76 I believe and that it's a lot cheaper than the HEB (a huge store in Texas) which is $6.97 and Blue Bell ice cream which is over $8 to $9. I especially love their Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream. It tastes better than any other ice cream I've tasted
Agree 👍
I used to go to Walmart every day. I haven’t been there in two years. Lots of crime and a few shootings. 😮
You sound refreshed and ready to hit the stores again!
Great Value basic cans are the best buy. Their frozen vegetables and fruits are the best buy anywhere, including most in Sam's. I noticed again that a few prices at Sam's are not as good as at Walmart, including rice,(what little there was). I don't know if you got to see my comment that Sam's was very low on rice and the cat section has been cut way back, AirWick and fresheners have about 450% of the aisle now. Sam's kitty litter was out and did not even have a place to stock it.Treats and litter took up most of the aisle, not food.
Great Value now has its own powdered WHOLE milk, much cheaper than Nido. I have not tried it, though. Neither are supposed to last 30 years or whatever like nonfat diired milk, but it will last a number of years and is so much better.
I bought jarred cocktail onions and some pickled vegetables to store as an alternative and addition.
Whole milk has a shorter shelf life because of fat content.increase shelf life by putting it in the freezer if you can
I was at Walmart yesterday ( Canada 🇨🇦),, and the great value margarine tub was $8.97,,,, a few years ago it was $3.97,..🙀
We live in maple syrup country. Never need to buy it at the grocery stores..
I live in Northeast Pennsylvania. There is a small "mom and pop" store that sells amazing pure syrups. A couple are local, and many come out of Vermont and New Hampshire. There is a bourbon infused one that I buy. So delicious!
The bourbon Infused sounds good. Northern Mich
Me too. I’m in Atlantic Canada and the sugar woods are open now. I went last weekend. Yummmm
I buy the great value chicken, dipping sauce, and it is equivalent to the Chick-fil-A sauce, and it is really good.
I LOVE the Great Value cheese products too. Some things Wal Mart does well and the variety and quality and price of course, make it a great buy, in my opinion. Thanks for doing a Wal Mart run Danno. Have a great week ahead!
Danno may I ask what kind of camera you use in the shopping trips? it is so clear and gets the right focus, I’m curious
Loved this video! I forget sometimes about Walmart and the Great Value products. I am going to try several things that you mentioned here. Thank you so much Danno for the work that you do! I really do appreciate it.
Thank you Danno, I really like that you did Great Value ❤✝️
Went to Centre, AL WalMart yesterday for a few things. Green beans still 0.64/can. Lemons 0.58/each, Spaghetti O's $1.23/can, Takis $3.38/bag, small GV frosted flakes 1.93/box,. I had to get Purina cat chow 20lb bag 24.98 because Sam's Club didn't have the 25lb bag and my cats were beginning to notice that their food level was low. Not much else that I needed to get. I hope Sam's club gets their cat food back in soon. Thank you for the update.
The GV and Sam’s club whipping cream is the very best, twice as thick as name brands!!! It’s worth every penny.
I use the Great Value Steak sauce
I've switched to Great Value for almost everything. Save about 50% in a lot of cases.
While I do work at kroger, always get my weekly wal mart delivery. Save at least $15 over Kroger prices. Great value "velvita" is good but I think aldis is better. Always get my fries at Wal-Mart as well as peanutbutter, tastes like jiff! Have a great day guys!
Like it when the store brand is merchamficed right next to or in the immediate area of the name brand product it emulates; doesnt matter which dtore.
Happy Sunday
Good morning! My husband drinks that Great Value Apple Juice like it's going out of style. We like a lot of the Great Value items.
The heavy whipping cream can sit on all stores shelves and spoil. I won’t pay that ridiculous price!
People are going to have to adjust to shortages and high prices. We have no control over this.😮😮😮
Keylime yogurt is fantastic. I only buy the GV yogurts
Yes it’s great 👍
GV cheeses really are the best! Our fav. Brick cheeses are super good too.
Yup. No way would I pay almost $12 for that DOLE smoothie stuff, when right next to it you can get the bigger individual frozen fruit items next to it cheaper (as you pointed out). I tend to use fresh fruit when I do have them. And since making fruit into liquid skyrockets to a faster release of glucose into the liver and a spike in your blood sugar...it is no longer my first (or smartest) choice. And the GV steak sauce is great (also try the ALDI Burmans brand...very good...at about $1.09)
You mentioned your chicken & dumplings recipe again in this video. I've never been able to locate it amongst all your videos. Would you repost it please.
Please remember to ALWAYS read the labels. Alot of items that are processed have really bad ingredients in them- bioengineered and "ingredients" which cause cancer, bodily inflammation, and inability of bowels to produce proper gut positive bacteria. You will find it in some name brands and plenty of off brand products like Great Value. You think you are buying just a can of green beans, but there is a bunch of other things added. Even pastas that are "enriched" need to be avoided. If you don't know the ingredients do not buy. I understand being pinched for money, but balance that with the bad ingredients. God Bless 🥰
I was shocked to see Ritz crackers having “bioengineered ingredients”. Many Kroger items in the bakery as well, even the “private selection” brand.
@@jinnv7130 its the wheat that they use. most enriched products have germ removed and they add sugar for flavor. typically they modify the wheats genes for pesticide reasons. insects wont eat it because it kills them. humans dont seem to care though, until they get cancer. look for propylene glycol in the bakery section, its used in anti freeze 😂
Yes, ALL brands of heavy whipping cream are obscenely priced. Kroger is far superior, but I would use GV when it was cheaper. I cannot afford to get it like I used to and don't make as many dishes that I used it in as I did.
GV Italian and Frfench breads have gone up but they are the best, barring having a real bakery available.
Morning Danno. Could you please check on frozen concentrated juice, curious if they are worth it compared to ready-made. Thank you 😊
Coffe pods are a rip off! The convenience is not worth the trade off in cost. A 12 ounce bag of grounds provides me with 32 ounces, brewed in a 5 cup Mr Coffee per day ( 2 big mugs) for most of a month . For The same price in pods I'd only get 24, 8 ounce cups, that means 4 pods a day to equal 2 mugs for 6 days. Need 5x the cost per month!
My favorite coffee on sale is $4,50 to $5.00 for 12 ounces ground, 24 pod pack cost the same. On sale every 4 to 6 weeks. So $5 a month bulk or $30 from pods
Heavy whipping cream is my creamer of choice! A quart also about a month, half and half is too weak and milky for my taste.
We love the Tillamook cheese. I used to like Sargento but I think the quality has gone down a lot. I stock up when Tillamook is on sale
We personally prefer the Great Value ketchup over the name brand. We also buy GV frozen vegetables, ranch dressing, dry pasta and canned vegetables. Not a fan of the pasta sauce (our store stays stocked).
Try a jar of marinara, it's a good product 👌. Like it just the way it is or, customize.
@@kathyracine1903 I will try it, thanks! We usually buy Rao’s or Prego
Uggg...We did a '23 Thanksgiving dinner donation and we selected a bunch of Stove Top brand, stuffing. We ended up at the restaurant supply store as volume wasn't an issue and the unit price was cheaper. We dont routinely buy Stove Top and the shopping process was both a shrinkflation and a pricing eye opener.
Only problem with Walmart peanut butter, is it contains hydrogenated fat that causes heart disease, and soybean oil "The consumption of soybean oil was found to decrease the levels of oxytocin, also known as the “love hormone”, and affect about 100 other genes related to brain function and energy metabolism."
I am allergic to glyphosate so I avoid GM soybean anything like the plague
Walmart hiked prices on its Great Value food brands in both 2022 and 2023.
The result? Its net income spiked 93% to $10.5 billion towards the end of 2023.
Nice review as usual. I have been finding sneaky prices on coffee at Walmart. It is with packaging on the Wal Mart Doughnut shop coffee. It comes in a large can & a tall oval plastic container. Both are the same exact coffee & weight 30.4 oz. The prices can vary $1.00 or more between these 2. They are not stocked next to each other. They seem to flip the prices back & forth on this coffee. This may also be happening with other coffees there. I have not checked on it lately because I stocked up when I heard coffee was going to be hard to find. Checking in from San Diego, CA. Keep up the good work. We appreciate what you & Jess do. Stay safe out there.
Good morning Dan and Jess, Happy Sunday! I love the spicy mustard. We will put them in sauces when preparing meat for pasta/potato. Yum! Enjoy and thank you for all that you do! Peace
I bought the simply orange for 2.99 this week at Meijer.
Have a blessed Palm Sunday
GV items: bread, chips, milk, saltines, oats is what I get. Steve from WV.
Walmart pork and beans are my favorite. They fill their cans up with beans instead of liquid.
Hi Danno and Jess,
Always a pleasure to hear of your new adventures in the food prices . The sockeye salmon at Walmart is outstanding. I'm not a fan of salmon, but i tried it and I'm hooked on it now.. 😊 Add the garlic and clarified butter to it add asparagus alongside it for a great meal. You have to go early because it goes faster than the regular salmon. I compare mostly all products with Wal-Mart products .I find it better than some brands.....Manuka honey is good too. Don't buy great vslue ice cream at all its artifical im surprised at that most items in great value are all natural.
Well thank you and Jess for another adventure in this crazy pricing games at these stores. I've Enjoyed your Florida adventures as well.. take care ...ḍ if you get a chance look into the housing market some prices on the housing sector did go down let us know if your still looking for a home. Have a blessed day, both you and Jess. GOD BLESS US 🙏 ALL
Weirdly I find that I'm not overly keen on own brand crisps (chips to you guys in the US) I prefer the named brand but own brand chocolate I'm fine with.
I love Great Value Chunk cheese and it is good. My favorite is Colby cheese
Hi Danno, I have tried the Great Value key lime yogurt and it is pretty good. I also always buy their grated and block cheeses, their flour and their kettle chips are really good also. Tks, Karla in Cali
We dont do much grocery shopping at Walmart except for specific things on and off during the years. Most of those specific items have been Great Value branded items.
Big fan of the Great Value canned beef, chicken and turkey. Having the beef over a pouch of basmati ready rice and a pouch of RTE black beans as I write this. Two cans of whichever one you prefer, and you have a soup starter, with a decent amount of meat. Add ready pouches of rice, beans and pasta. Alnd bottled water.
What would I put in a couple of orange Homer buckets for RTE emergency food? GV beef, chicken and turkey. GV ready rice pouches. Barilla pasta ready pouches. Ready pouches of black beans and red kidney beans. Cheap, easy Homer buckets to go. Beats a case of FEMA MREs with menu items that no one eats.
Good Morning. Speaking of organic, it is recommended for diabetic cooking. Dahlonega, GA.
Morning from beautiful Florida, it's gorgeous today. As a baker I can comment on yes, the bread flour makes a difference. I do use King Arthur and Sam's bread flours. Protein is what forms gluten in your dough, more gluten means stronger, stretchier dough, which is critical for a tall, airy loaf of bread. The milling process and how much protein is in the flour make a big difference in certain types of breads. The higher % protein the better in rising the bread.
The best deal on heavy whipping cream is at Sams, $8.48 for 64 ozs.
If you & Jess have not tried 2 ingredient biscuits do it! Best biscuits I have ever made! HWC & a good flour!
I have to plan on dinners and an Easter dinner to top off the week. Shopping this week will be unique. Trying to be budget and special in the same week with a week to go. I think it will be a great holiday." GV pancake mix is good.
I haven’t shopped at Walmart in quite awhile. Guess I need to try out the Great Value brand.
Hi Danno and Jess❤❤❤
I feel like something has been put into all food in the last 6 months or so, that has messed my stomach up terribly. Things I have always eaten. I kept getting checked for illness, for stomach and bowel problems, for allergy, Etc. and they find nothing wrong. I have checked for disease, for vitamin deficiencies, for diabetes and nothing. Yet I have had some stomach thing happening for around 5 straight months now, and the only time it is better at all is if I do not eat at all for a day. So I think it’s the food itself.
There is no reason why a person ought to feel better and have more energy when they don’t eat at all, than when they do eat. And I don’t eat badly, not compared to many. I don’t eat meat but that’s not new to me. I don’t eat fast food at all. I wonder if other people are also suddenly feeling strange from food that they have eaten for years without issue. Others I know definitely are as well. Did they put a new additive or something in all kinds of items in 2023?
thanks! I'll go have some Peets now myself! Major Dickason's Blend!
Same as what's in my cup! ☕️
Sacramento, California USA 🇺🇸
YES - the Great Value mixed frozen vegg are top notch - and a shortcut for my shepherds pie! Boil potatoes in morning. Layer in crockpot. Crank it up.
Have a wonderful Easter, where ever you are
Thanks for the video and info!
Used to buy Florida natural until oranges not from fl...see ya😅
Happy Palm Sunday! I don't really shop there anymore (its outta the way), but I used to always get my trail mix at Walmart. On an aside, I was trying to catch a couple Kroger deals last evening and came upon those 2lb bags of fresh green beans marked down to $2.34 from $6.49! Got 6 lbs and canning them right now. 😊
The spicy brown mustard is great, you'll like it❤
Great Value Greek yogurt is great! GV Greek flavors are just as good as Chobani in all the flavors I have tried except mango and I don’t know if GV even sells mango.
The key lime is good my favorite is the great value cherry
You can’t beat the Kirkland maple syrup for quality and price
Thanks Danno and Frank.happy Sunday
Meijer is stocked better than Walmart and Kroger at least in Southwest Ohio
Hi Danno 👋! To be short, I base the price of processed or frozen food based on how much I have to pay and how long it takes me to make it. If it's less than what I make hourly,, I buy the pre-made option.
The Great Value Chicken Dipping sauce for around $2.28 is as close as you can get to Popeyes sauce on their Chicken sandwiches & Vlasic Hamburger Dill Ovals are as close to their pickles, very good on things.
Great Value Classic Roast cost has stayed the same price and the can looks the same but it shrunk from 48 oz to 40.3 oz. We buy a lot of Great Value items.
Hello 👋.... Thanks Danno
Yes I have tried Great Value KeyLime yogurt and it was good.
wm steak suace just as good a1 h 57
Everything so expensive
Those of you who buy Great Value broth how do you like it compared to Simple Truth at Kroger? I discovered how great that is doing colo prep. I love pretty much all Simple Truth products though.
The great value dijon mustard is always in stock at my house.
"Look at this madness, MAPLE FLAVORED BACON JERKY!"
Good morning Danno andJess. Happy Palm Sunday! Have a wonderful day!
I have eaten the great value Greek yogurt for years. I like the strawberry and blueberry. I also buy the GV shredded cheese. Thanks for the video.
Good video today
I really enjoyed your video today Danny, I hope you and Jess have a great day 🎉
***kroger: ice mountain 24 packs 2.99 a 50% savings ***
Please start reading what's in your food, not just grab because of pictures🤔
I am a fan of Organic Ketchup from Publix GREENWiSE line or Aldi's. Hate mustard
Great value sharp cheddar cheese is great. From now on, I won't buy heavy whipping cream for that price. I will just use milk. Ive stopped buying orange juice too.
I drink the great value coffee to save a few dollars and it's well worth it
