One of the interesting things I saw was the cylinder pump for wells . The compact with clock was nice. George, you always know everything . Your mom must be so proud of you. Thank you, again.
There were a few new things to me too! That's part of why I love going to shows, online is great but it's so easy to get stuck in one area and not see new things
I remember Underdog and Polly she was always in trouble and Underdog to the rescue. lol Good memories for when life was simple. Thanks and you have a great day
At 32:56, I believe that’s an Iranian brass and copper tray. Probably 1960s or early 70s. I wish I could have seen it close up. There is a huge difference between Indian Brass and Persian brass, quality-wise, and it cleans up beautifully...I’m always on the lookout for Persian brass, and things like the trays and chafing dishes look great with mid century modern furniture.
Thank you for that help! I wasn't sure, but I had noticed that the Persian pieces I felt were identified correctly seemed less "brassy" and were heavier castings than Indian pieces.
Indian brass IS heavier, thicker, than Persian brass. Persian brass is, I think, more finely detailed and intricate. The artisanship in their metals is so, so refined. Compare the two, if you can, and you’ll see that the Indian brass seems…clunkier, and not as artistically exquisite as the Persian is. I do NOT use the chafing dishes to serve food, as they are lead lined. But they look great on tables and sideboards.
Thank you George! Mary Porter was an amazing artist. Looked like the candy canes were literally sticking out of the painting, as well as her other pieces. Wonderful video George, I really enjoyed it! I enjoy all your videos, don't get me wrong. Lol
If there’s a broken bead, you can crack the whole bead with needle nose pliers til it falls off, then use the slack created to re-tie one end of the string. That helps the stability of the necklace because the ends by the clasp get the most wear and you’d be getting rid of one worn end. And those trench art vases are amazing! They are embossed (repousse?) with my birth flower! I’ve never seen florals on trench art. Thank you for sharing this neatness!
That well pipe sure brought back memories. This was the kind of well my grandparents had way down in Stearns KY. the well itself was not the normal open hole. it was a terra cotta pipe sunk deep into the earth with a metal cap on it. built over it was an arbor like structure that held the pulley and the pipe we saw for sale here at the beginning of the video. this metal pipe was on a long rope, threaded through the pulley and attached to the other side of the arbor. when we needed water in the kitchen one of the children was elected to go fill the bucket. you would remove the cap and drop the metal pipe down the terra cotta pipe and it would make a glug, glug, glug noise as it filled up with water. once it was quiet, you would pull it back up and put the metal pipe in the bucket and pull the handle on the top of the pipe. the water would WOOSH into the bucket. A real thrill for a city kid visiting their country grandparents. Not so fond of the outhouse though.
Hi George, you such an interesting occupation or should I say lifestyle; yesterday my neighbor gave me a cardboard box with Treasure Craft written all over it & it had a shipping label for JC Penney; a year ago I wouldn't that nothing to me so thanks for info on T.C.; have great day
The items for sale at this show were i think a really unique and delightful departure from the norm! Great items! Thanks for always being professor of all things old !
What sweet surprises' do we have in store for this evening? Whatever it may be, I know it will be great and George will have knowledge to back it up with!
A beautiful shopping tour of the show! Thanks for doing this. I saw many reasonably priced items which makes for a fun show for all~ Thanks again George, you always deliver on finding the best shows and shopping experiences!
Hey George! That Blondie ring toss game was interesting. I like the old comics/cartoon items. I have one of the old printers' drawers as a shadow box, with wood spools of thread and a complete collection of the Wade Nursery Rhyme whimseys in it. I have a pair of the Blackamoor genie lamps, in the green. There was a figure from one there. I like those in the green, and the Alexander Backer genies in the green. Love that Tiffany wax lamp! Always wanted one of those glass churns. I have my great-grandmother's five gallon and my grandmother's three gallon crock churns. There was a primitive mortar and pestle there that really caught my eye. I'd have likely had to have that. That toy/mini wagon was super interesting! Great video, and a lot of interesting items there! Thanks for the take-along!!!
Hi, Mark! Aren't they great shadow boxes? I didn't know you had the Wade Nursery Rhymes, my godmother collects those. I love the Blackamoor lamps and the Backer ones as well. Yes to the wax lamp indeed! It's nice that you have the family churns still. Thank you so much for coming along!
Hi, Daniel! I get that, it's not for everyone and it can be distracting. I'm always glad to know you're there, my more knowledgable fans like you make me mindful to try to check my accuracy :)
@@TheAntiqueNomad And thanks to you also. I have watched several UA-camrs and have narrowed it down to 3 with the occasional 4th. It's a tit for tat situation when it comes to learning.
Hi there! Wonderful video! We are going to New Harmony soon. I saw a concrete dog and wondering if that came out of one of the shops there? I would pay now and pick up later!:)
No, but if you contact Cindy at Firehouse Antiques in New Harmony and tell her you saw them in my video, and that the dealer was in the gym's side room and was on the left side (I think 3rd from the end?), she'll know
I couldn't agree more! It's sad that the English instilled such hatred to keep the slaves and the white indentured servants from mingling (they were afraid they'd be overthrown). If people realized how racism was used by the ruling class to divide us, maybe we'd all get over it
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
Whew 😅 a lot of great things to look at. I have the President Ike’s scarf.
I really like that piece! My mom used to have it too
One of the interesting things I saw was the cylinder pump for wells . The compact with clock was nice. George, you always know everything . Your mom must be so proud of you. Thank you, again.
My mom knows better! Lol. The compact was a good one
You are one of the best UA-cam appraiser s out there. So much great information and your spot on with your values!! Keep up the good work

Hello my dearest darling! Lol. No worry's I ain't after anybody anymore. Too old. Great show!
Good to hear, I'm there too. Thanks!
George, loved your show and going through the booths with you!
Thank you, Jenn! I'm glad you enjoyed as much as I did.
Thanks so much..Loved the Mary Porter Pictures AMONG many other things.
I thought they were charming and I learned about a new artist!
@@TheAntiqueNomad Always great to learn new.
Can you hear me screaming...Royal Crown Dachshunds. Dachshund lover here.
They really were cute! They were more recent than what I usually buy but really well done.
That was a super cool antique show, things I've never seen before
There were a few new things to me too! That's part of why I love going to shows, online is great but it's so easy to get stuck in one area and not see new things
I always target antique storage units. Thats where I find the majority of gold jewelry I find in storage units.
Hey there! Enjoying your channel. Storage units can be terrific, I've never known how to target them for antiques/vintage though
I remember Underdog and Polly she was always in trouble and Underdog to the rescue. lol Good memories for when life was simple. Thanks and you have a great day

Thank you! Practice makes perfect, I really enjoy doing it
Professor George is the best!!!❤️💞
Aww gee shucks! (and thanks)
I liked that corner wainscot cabinet it was cool. I kept saying "open it up and show me the inside George", but I guess you weren't listening. 😞
I should have! It's hard to do as much as I like with my hands sometimes because I'm filming
@@TheAntiqueNomad You know I am just kidding - I would love to go with you and be your extra hands. How cool would that be!!
You really are well educated, thank you.
Oh, thank you! I try to help others learn what I've learned, and to learn from them in return
I would love to meet you. You have great, sarcastic humor and you like to learn.
I hope we do too! You seem to have me pegged so I suspect we'd get along
My favourite video !!!! Loved the primitives!
There were some nice ones! I'm appreciating them more and more
💗
Thank you George! Mary Porter was an amazing artist. Looked like the candy canes were literally sticking out of the painting, as well as her other pieces. Wonderful video George, I really enjoyed it! I enjoy all your videos, don't get me wrong. Lol
I agree! The candy canes in the glass were the piece that made me realize she was very talented
"Gynecologist... We know what that's all about"...I was laughing so hard at that comment!
I couldn't think of anything more g-rated to say
Loved the video, thank you, George !
My pleasure! I sure had fun at this one
Always enjoy your videos!
I appreciate that! Thank you for commenting, I really enjoy doing them and am glad the feeling is mutual
Resplendent video

Me too! Want checkerboard linoleum in my kitchen someday
Great video, George! Thank you.😊
So nice of you, thank you!

Another fun video! I so enjoy your style, George! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!😍
You are so welcome! I sure have fun doing this
Like the wire stand in between the big white columns. Lots of interesting items & weird stuff. Take care George.💠
That was a good one! She sold it right at the end of the sale, I'd have liked to have it

Interesting! I never thought of it being a skinny well. That's one of those things that's fun when you don't HAVE to do it all the time!

I really am fond of that one, it's a lot older than most
YES
I collect antique keys that I find in storage units.
That's a great idea! I've been starting to keep any key I find

68 was heading into Indiana sesquicentennial.
That's right! I have the US postage stamp in my collection
We had those up on our auction the Bragg pics. The water tube was very unique!! I love the 3 pieces of furniture you bought. I love wall pockets!!!
Oh wow! How did it do? The furniture was a nice surprise, I like pieces small enough for me to move by myself
Hi there! Wonderful video! We are going to New Harmony soon. I saw a concrete dog and wondering if that came out of one of the shops there? I would pay now and pick up later!:)
I don't know, you could try Firehouse Antiques
Ah.. you missed the Willendorf woman....
You're right! I don't always key in on some of the nicer European pieces, but will attempt to be more inclusive
❤🍒🍓❤🍒🍓
I felt like I was walking round with you
That's really nice to hear! Thank you very much.
25:04 are 3 ginny dolls for 35.00 apiece. do you remember who had them for sale?
No, but if you contact Cindy at Firehouse Antiques in New Harmony and tell her you saw them in my video, and that the dealer was in the gym's side room and was on the left side (I think 3rd from the end?), she'll know
When we were in Italy we saw purses with a phone dial on the front. The dial was complete so it moved. Tried to include a picture but no go.
Hey what happened to the jeep in the box?
I think it sold

I really like how you move your camera very slow over the smalls so we can see better thank you
Ok, thank you, I try to do that (I've learned over time)
Amazing what white men could aspire to!
Shame on that man because Jesus was black. that man that made that book was ignorant and obviously didn't read or know anything about Jesus.
