thank you for this video, my partners nine year old daughter just got out of hospital after having (pituitary) brain surgery & we're trying to understand whats happened. (her mother isnt cooperative & isnt sharing information with us)
we know shes very tall for her age 5"5' (9yo) she has had her menses for two+ years, (very slim but to my eye she hasnt 'developed' breasts & hips yet) no excess hair growth though, looks 'normal', she is half Laos half european.
we know last week she was supposed to have her pituitary 'fenestrated' (this is what we were told by the mother, only this) & that a drain would be semipermanently left to drain excess hormone.
She has 2 growths/tumours in her brain (one behind the optic nerve) discovered during an MRI six months ago.
The surgery was supposed to be 2 hours with an incision above her ear, (why would they decide to not do it transsphenodially/ transnasally?)
Instead, the surgery took over 7 hours and when she came out she was cut from behind one ear across the front/top of her head, to behind the other ear.
    (subfrontal craniotomy??)
so i guess they did something else as well??
Could they have decided to remove the tumours partway through surgery instead of just fenestration? or was excess bleeding more likely?
As the mother is the one meeting with doctors, she isnt sharing information with us & we are just trying to understand what has happened, or what might be wrong.
any information you could give we'd really appreciate it. obviously you cant diagnose but we have no idea, should i be looking into acromegaly? worried about this beatitiful girl
    thank you for reading this

I would be afraid to take DA when pregnant, maybe a reduced or more spread out dose.

I was told in 2020 that the tumor was too small to cause any symptoms (no treatment needed) yeah right,2 years later without treatment, I have no menstrual cycles in one year, blurry vision, can't get pregnant, headaches, vomiting EVERYDAY, EXTREME ANXIETY, heart palpitations, and can't even work

Do you still do this surgery and where are you located?
I may have to pay out of pocket.
