It's like Christmas morning logging into UA-cam every year and seeing the annual "Torandoes of..." video. Amazing video as always, Hank! Thanks to you and your storm chasing pals for your dedication to storm chasing, science, and quality content
Your content is just jaw-droppingly good. Many chasers on UA-cam have great, vlog style chase content with lots of technical detail, but your ability to go from a hyperlapse LP supercell with gorgeous structure to a tornado to mammatus clouds to red sprites and green ghosts, all topped off with these chill, ethereal instrumentals is unmatched.
Your story about thinking a horny toad was a dinosaur reminded me of an infamous moment in my family history. My family came to the southern USA from Russia, and one of the family's favorite stories to tell at every gathering was about the time my uncle was a little kid playing outside and came running inside to tell my grandma he had seen a dinosaur, my grandma went outside with him to see what he was talking about, and by God she saw the dinosaur too. She ran back home and put all of her children in her wagon and rode to the sheriff's office to report the dinosaur. The sheriff followed my grandma back to her farm and upon seeing the dinosaur he politely informed her that the dino was, in fact, an armadillo.
We all know Jody is chasing the best storms we can imagine up there she's such a beautiful soul! Absolutely loved the video hank and everything you do! Wishing you the best for your chases in 2022!
Great video. Really sorry about Jody, just because they had an incredible life full of fun and adventures doesn't make the loss any easier. So wonderful that you included him in your travels. Rest well Jody....
I am HIGHLY impressed on the recall of those dogs! Love that ya’ll bring them along. I bet Jody is watching them with you from across the Rainbow Bridge
I had so many emotions, watching this video. Elation that Pecos Hank released a new video, engaged entertainment in watching him and his crew's 2021 antics, and a growing knot in my stomach as I knew what was coming by the end of the video; the coverage of the quad-state supercell. Watching the news was awful that night. The storm that killed on in Defiance, MO missed my best friend by only a handful of miles. RIP to all who lost their lives that night in Illlinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
My sister and her dad live in Defiance. We were visiting our new-born nephew that week, and my sister was getting frantic messages from her friends. Her dad was missed by not even a mile.
Confirmed again for 2021, Hank is still the coolest guy on UA-cam. Always love your work. I can imagine how educational and just outright fun it would be to chase with you.
Rip Jodi. :( Really loving the work you do Hank. I'm new to the storm chasing videos and your backlog has been a joy to watch. Now I'm obsessed with storms.
Your videos are so well produced. I don’t feel like I’m watching UA-cam. It feels like something I’d see on the travel channel or something like that. Excellent!!
I have seen major motion pictures, Hollywood movies that do NOT have the camera shots, expertise, or clear cut views that this guy produces!! I don't know his background, but he SHOULD be a big time movie maker with his work here on UA-cam alone. I know of no other channel on any subject or genre that has such good camera work!
"Testing my new drone and the big city signal interference." I lost it at the old-school plane crash sound effect and the 'stand of disappoint' after. Way to go, Hank!
I was interested in chasing since I was around 12. When Twister came out, I was hooked! Then a I became a geologist, but this is still a passion I live vicariously through others like you. Your videos are beautiful, educational, entertaining, and the music is relaxing and perfectly fitting for your style of videos. Many props to you Hank!
Between the badass storm imagery, the childlike glee and passion for the work, and your adoration and respect for earth's creatures, I look forward to these videos every single year!
I've been missing my favorite childhood show, Storm Chasers, a lot recently and it's so much fun to see new, well-filmed content without all the team vs team drama that show had. I love your editing, commentary, and getting to see all the friends you find along the way, human or not!
Beautiful footage, Hank - whether storm or creature. You choked me up over Jody. Those of us chained to 8-5 jobs are jealous of her adventurous life! Thanks for the upload.
You popped up and I couldn't "not" see what you've been up to. You never disappoint! Familiar faces and their doggies. Condolences on the loss of your Jody. Awesome video! 😍👍🏻
Hank, I used to think the best job in the world was being a presenter of Top Gear, getting to travel to exotic places and drive exotic cars. This video changed all of that for me. Your photography is staggeringly beautiful man. And you also discovered and named an atmospheric phenomenon, so there’s that.
I just wanna say I truly appreciate what you and all other storm chasers do. You risk your safety to bring us these incredible footages of storms, and not only that but you educate us and also stop to help animals along the way. Truly, truly amazing work, thank you for what you do!
I was in a tornado on December 11th. It wasn’t the same one that hit Mayfield, Ky. Our town was hit with an f-2. Scary to get a weather alert at 2:30am in the morning. Luckily there was no fatalities in my hometown. Thank you for including Mayfield in your video. 💜
i live in georgia and i genuinely can’t remember a time where we had tornado warnings during the day 🥲 we’ll get tornado watches during the day but not tornado warnings
I'm in the flight school at Liberty University and in our weather class my professor would show some of your videos to illustrate thunderstorms. You have some helpful stuff!
Greetings from Czech Republic Hank! Let me do a honorable mention for tornado that passed through Moravia on the evening of 24th of June, which ended up being one of the most powerful tornadoes of 2021, ending the lives of 6 people and injuring more than 200. Mind you, this was the first significant tornado in Czechia since 2004 and first confirmed tornado since 2018, so that thing really came out of nowhere. Funny thing is, the evening before, I was preparing for an exam and saw in the news that a supercell is forming in Austria, and was thinking that maybe, just maybe, we could see a tornado. Hopefully we won't see anything like this in a long time, the videos from that day still gives me chills..
i've been watching you since 2017 and have never commented. i was there when the mayfield tornadoes happened, the closest one to my town dying out at rough river. so glad im still here watching the newest edition of 'tornadoes of' in 2022. thank you for making up part of my life!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you’ve helped me so much over the years! I have had a fear of high winds, tornados and storms since I was a kid. Once I was older I traveled a lot on my own and would come across some intense storms and such. Your videos helped me be more educated and prepared when traveling, it also opened the world of storms to me and made me less fearful when I’d get caught in one. ❤️
I was watching the storms on radar that evening on Dec 10 and sending screenshots to my friend who lives relatively close to where all those storms were. I was so far removed from the danger since I'm up in Canada that I didn't know how bad the situation really was and when I watched a cell pass over a town, I never really made the connection in my mind that I had watched a tornado hit that town so I was really surprised when I saw the aftermath in this video. Also, good job man!
I’m always so sad when his videos end knowing that I won’t get this sense of thrill and exploration for another month or two when Hank drops his next video
I absolutely love when you do the guitar strokes to compliment the sprites shooting up in the sky, beautiful editing and such a good video. Always look forward to Pecos Hank videos

Living down here in southern Kentucky and still seeing the damage everyday, it’s so interesting to see how powerful and terrifying, yet stunningly beautiful these monsters are. Thanks for sharing, Hank! Hope for some good catches this year!
Didn't northern Kentucky got hit with a power tornado a few months back? I donated $500 and some food/water/clothes to the victims of that tornado.. I could have been thinking about southern tornado, but I was thinking it was around Owensboro but not sure..

I get so much joy watching your videos. I really appreciate the time and care you put in to each one. I get as excited about seeing the animals as the tornadoes lol. Seriously, one of the most genuine people I have ever watched.
@@PecosHank Hope you got to see the Quad State tornado. It really devastated Mayfield. I'm upset how this tornado came without any warning. Good luck on your next tornado, Hank. Cheers from KY.
Living in Daviess County, Kentucky during the December tornado outbreak, I have to say it's a scary thing, I have no idea how you and other storm chasers manage to go out there and activley seek this dangerous force of nature, massive respect to you and all others in your field
Hank, I appreciate the things you've done to really bring the community together. Watching your videos for over 8 years has set me to be a storm chaser here in a few years and the coverage of the damage from the December 10-11 outbreak really shows a lot to what storms can do. When my hometown of Mayfield, KY was hit by the tornado, I went there 20 minutes after it went through and helped people where I could. Like honestly, you showing footage is one thing, but living through the nightmare and seeing the devastation firsthand really separated the bonds of cinema and reality to make people more aware of what the country is going through. God bless you and I can't wait to maybe one day meet you while I kick back on days off and watch your mesmerizing videos.
ahhh yes the annual tornados of the year is a must watch no matter who you are. thank you pecos hank for being you and sharing your adventure with everyone.
Hands down the best weather channel on UA-cam, even with low amounts of photogenic tornados. I love how you focus on lightning, too. A lot of storm chasers seem to ignore it.
Hank, your videos have pushed me to start studying meteorology and I couldn't thank you enough. I've been watching your videos for years now and now that I've finally gotten into college studying Meteorology is finally within my grasp. Thank you Hank for all of your hard work, you stay safe out there.
I love your channel and your content Hank. I'm terrified of storms but for some reason you make me want to go out and chase them myself. It's like getting hunted in your own home vs just watching them in the Savannah where there's relatively zero risk
Pecos Hank never disappoints. The calm, yet amazing ambiance of his videos is so much better than the usual screaming and chaos of other chasers. #gethankto1millionsubs
This footage is clearly edited perfectly and your storytelling masterfully done. You are an impressive young man! My grandson and I love watching these together. God bless you, keep you safe and happy.
Hank, I just wanted to say how much you've inspired me as a person and as an artist. I rewatch your videos every time i need to focus, or just when I need a laugh or to hear your voice. Every time a tiny storm comes over where I'm at, I always pop outside and think of your videos. Even though I'm still fairly young, you've solidified something in my mind about storms. The weather, and the unknown. Thank you so much for the joy and laughs you've brought to this community, and to me personally.
Hank I just want you to know that you are an inspiration to me and you have inspired me to do a meteorology class in university, and do storm chasing part time, soon full time hopefully. My family didn’t want me to do this but because of you and your videos I am still doing it. I live in Canada and there aren’t much tornadoes here, most of them EF0, but there was an EF4 in a town near me a few years ago, so hopefully I find more of those. However, I am considering taking a vacation to texas and Oklahoma this spring, and hopefully we can see some tornadoes together. Thank you Mr. Hank. Love and support from Canada
Hank, you have inspired me to go to college for meteorology. You've been my biggest influence when it comes to my future career, and for that, I can never thank you enough. Keep doing what you're doing and stay safe! I always look forward to your uploads. So thank you Hank, happy trails!
Hank should have his own show on tv where he talks about his adventures and stories either if it's recent or years back. You're a legend hank! Keep up the good work and I wish you luck for the 2022 tornado season

I'm working on diminishing that same fear, Pecos Hank and Storm Chaser Daniel have awesome videos to help with that, I tried with Red Timmer but he's WAY too high energy for me right now
I love that Pecos usually has animals in his storm chasing videos! He's either bringing one along or helping out a wild animal; this is beautiful to see. 💗
Your videos truly are something else. I find your way calmness so refreshing after the always over-the-top screamfests you usually see in tornado chasing videos. Usually it's 95% screaming, car shots, and confusion, and then like 1 minute of a tornado from some weird angle. WIth you it's exclusively fantastic footage, with some nice quiet moments with cute animals mixed in.
I love how you educate and get excited about everything you show, but you always remain respectful of the power the storms have, its never really blown out to be more than it is. A lot of shows I've seen do that for the drama and the views but I love how relaxed you are in your tellings, even with the big storms its still a very respectful, "relaxed" atmosphere which makes it easy to learn from
We had just set up a storm shelter prior, but couldn’t go in it yet as it hadn’t been set up for someone who is disabled in our household, and we just went with a no man left behind stand point. We had to stay up till 6am. One of the EF1s was in my same county but I don’t think it hit us, the wind was pretty bad, so it might’ve grazed us. It was too dark to really see if any were there, that’s what makes severe weather at night so much worse.
@@scarletfox7080 Yes - I hate night storms/tornado watches. I want to see what’s coming! I used to live in Georgia and they always seemed to hit at might. Never thought a weather video could be so AMAZING, and an emotional rollercoaster, from Jody to Dino....and those sprites - never ever knew those existed. VERY COOL VIDEO. Fan for sure.

Love your videos 💕 I’ve always been fascinated by storms, so being able to watch your adventures and everything you get to experience is something I am truly grateful for!
Hank, you've honestly become one of my favorite channels. I turn on a video and just get lost in the gorgeous cinematography and awesome power of the tornadoes you and you colleagues film. Thank you for the years of amazing content! Also love to see you visit Arkansas at some point.
This man deserved 1 mil subs a long time ago it’s gonna happen soon but he should have 5 mil by now the footage Hank gets for us to see is incredible! Been subbed since 200k keep up the good work! ❤️
This was so great to watch, I loved every aspect of it. The filming and pictures are spectacular! But the narration, the people behind the storm chasers, the animals and the beautiful landscape made it into so much more, like I got a glimpse into the whole sensation of being there, even though Im about 9.000km away, watching on a laptop in a country that barely even knows the phenomenon. Thats a masterpiece you got there and I I wouldnt be surprised if some bigger company might notice and make an offer for a documentation like this. Thank you for sharing your work, its deeply appreciated!
Yeah, the end of the year's storms were devastating, I was in between two tornados, the closest one leveling the downtown area of a nearby town, it doesn't really feel real until you slowly go by the destruction, hoping everyone made it out okay. It was especially sad because it was close to Christmas, and spirits were high, and some people had everything torn away from them. Then, the very start of the year had my county with two tornado warnings, the eerie silence coupled with the tornado sirens outside after the New Year had begun made it feel like a horror movie..
My birth mother says she still can't watch tornado footage without feeling and hearing the one that ripped over her house as s child. The wind and freight train sounds. They moved out of Ohio a few months later to a non tornado prone area
@@Alphawolfsnowy0 she lived through an ef 4/5. They aren't sure if it downgrade before or after her house. It was in 1985 and she definitely has ptsd. I remember a tornado warning as a kid and her putting us in the bathtub with mattress over us. And nothing ever happened.
I have no idea what level the one that almost hit my house when I was younger, but I remember a tornado warning as well and my parents stuffing us in the closet with a portable radio
While I hate the destruction they cause… it’s unbelievably amazing to watch these videos. I found you in 2018 and I’ve learned so much and had so much fun watching your videos, thank you Hank
I've only been watching you only for about a year, but now your one of my favorite channels to watch and follow. Ever since middle school I've had a fascination towards tornadoes and your only helping fuel that fascination. Stay safe and God bless, Hank.
Love Hank’s yearly tornado wrap up videos! The editing and voiceover tell a story of scary atmospheric events accompanied by images of heart pounding meteorological phenomena! Nice job as always👊🏼
2:21 he says they’re ruining the shot but honestly I think they make for a very instantly iconic shot, so classic just having a bunch of cows with a burrito in the background
This has become a sort of yearly ritual, crack open a beer, and watch amazing cinematography with a hilarious undertone! Thank you for the consistent efforts, it's a true joy watching your videos!
Always a great day when you upload! Also nearing on the big 1 million subs mark and you 100% deserve it for the effort you put into the vids. Been watching since 2013, keep up the great work!
Hey Hank, if you ever find yourself chasing a whole lot of do-nothing storms, come up to Oregon and see Painted Hills and photograph some wildfire plumes and pyro clouds
Hank, you sir are the man! I absolutely love your video's, your cinematography, narration, editing, humor, and music is by far above anyone else's. It blows my mind that you're not on national tv, you should have your own show on Discovery or National Geographic. I've always wanted to do storm chasing myself but never had the money or time to get into it so living it through your eye's and video's will be the closest I get. You seem like a super cool dude, definitely my favorite storm chaser. Keep up the excellent work and thanks for sharing with us all!
Good stuff as always Hank! Those back-to-back systems in December won't be forgotten. It was tough watching that supercell track for so long through town after town. Here in MN, the same system dumped 20" of snow in places. All of it was gone after a foggy 50+ degree day on the 15th, and MN went from 0 recorded tornadoes in history in the month of December to 22. Dec 15 was also the most tornadoes in one day for 2021. Here's to an equally wild (but less deadly) 2022!
Thank you for clarifying what happened during the Dec 10th outbreak until now I believe the Tri-state Tornado had been beaten. Also thanks for the great content Hank I wouldn't know as much about Tornadoes as I do without your vids.
Truly one of my favorite UA-camrs. I find it difficult to find people who can balance education, entertainment, and quality, but Hank can do all of these. Winning personality and an incredibly talented.
Those lightning sprites are incredible. I have never seen them myself, but maybe the storms we get here on the Prairies of Western Canada aren't as big and strong as the storms in the South. Thanks again for an awesome video Hank.
It wouldn’t be a video of Hank’s without his befriending of random animals he finds in the roads. Thank you Hank!!! Love these videos!
And just look how calm this random wild snake is! Fascinating, every time.

Well, Jody isn’t a storm chaser, she is a AMAZING Storm chaser.
Rest In Peace.
How did she die
@@Cr-xw1ms well she's been around for a long time for dogs so she probably die of old age
Great video. Really sorry about Jody, just because they had an incredible life full of fun and adventures doesn't make the loss any easier. So wonderful that you included him in your travels. Rest well Jody....
Excellent video as always, Hank! It was definitely a challenging season, but you found some golden moments out there. Hope to see you in 2022!

He's basically a celebrity in our household. My 2 year old Loves his videos. He says "More tomatoes"! Wish we could get an autograph!!
I am HIGHLY impressed on the recall of those dogs! Love that ya’ll bring them along. I bet Jody is watching them with you from across the Rainbow Bridge
This is a sweet comment.
I hear ya bud :)
@@MissusO Glad they all made it through ok!
Confirmed again for 2021, Hank is still the coolest guy on UA-cam. Always love your work. I can imagine how educational and just outright fun it would be to chase with you.
2022*
Rip Jodi. :(
Really loving the work you do Hank. I'm new to the storm chasing videos and your backlog has been a joy to watch. Now I'm obsessed with storms.
Your videos are so well produced. I don’t feel like I’m watching UA-cam. It feels like something I’d see on the travel channel or something like that. Excellent!!
Better than that tbh
I have seen major motion pictures, Hollywood movies that do NOT have the camera shots, expertise, or clear cut views that this guy produces!! I don't know his background, but he SHOULD be a big time movie maker with his work here on UA-cam alone. I know of no other channel on any subject or genre that has such good camera work!
well, a lot of his footage is on TV weather channels and I think Nat Geo. Pecos is a pro, we are just blessed he's willing to put footage on YT.
Woah glad to see there's another exactly like me haha
He makes the music too
Aren't some chasers taking people with them for a chase? Might be worth checking out.
Reed timmer has a UA-cam channel
That was a good show
Beautiful footage, Hank - whether storm or creature.
😍👍🏻
No matter how many tornadoes Jody saw, she still was a hyperactive dog. She will be missed.
i agree, 50 tornadoes, 13 years of chasing.
Hank, I used to think the best job in the world was being a presenter of Top Gear, getting to travel to exotic places and drive exotic cars. This video changed all of that for me. Your photography is staggeringly beautiful man. And you also discovered and named an atmospheric phenomenon, so there’s that.
As someone who lives in a place that is lucky to get three thunder-days a year this is amazing. Beautifully presented Hank. Thank you.
Glad to hear everyone in your community made it through! That was a really scary night.
i live in georgia and i genuinely can’t remember a time where we had tornado warnings during the day 🥲 we’ll get tornado watches during the day but not tornado warnings
Glad you dodged that bullet. Cheers Casey.
@@misseselise3864 i agree with what your saying. most outbreaks in Georgia and the south I've watched were nighttime...
I pray for those who have passed every November. I pray for Jody. Also thank you Hank for being YOU! Love your videos!
I'm in the flight school at Liberty University and in our weather class my professor would show some of your videos to illustrate thunderstorms. You have some helpful stuff!
Yo my brother went to college there lol
Thanks for contributing that information Jan.
The summer here in central europe really had some dangerous potential for tornadoes, we got more lucky here in Germany than Czechia though.
i've been watching you since 2017 and have never commented. i was there when the mayfield tornadoes happened, the closest one to my town dying out at rough river. so glad im still here watching the newest edition of 'tornadoes of' in 2022. thank you for making up part of my life!
Glad you're here too Kelsey. Thanks for watching all these years.
Same here Kelsey Im near Mayfield and my sirens went off and none of us woke up luckily no tornado hit us
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you’ve helped me so much over the years!
I also have screenshots and I was close enough I heard two of them
Dec 10th was a scary night for my family and i ill never forget
It was the quad state tornado right?
It was a little too close for comfort for my kids living in Warren county. My son said, he could hear the "train" going overhead
@@aaamogusthespiderever2566 i dont think so i think that might be two close tornadoes idk for sure tho

Still remains in Tennessee from March 3rd 2020

I get so much joy watching your videos. I really appreciate the time and care you put in to each one. I get as excited about seeing the animals as the tornadoes lol. Seriously, one of the most genuine people I have ever watched.

@@PecosHank Hope you got to see the Quad State tornado. It really devastated Mayfield. I'm upset how this tornado came without any warning. Good luck on your next tornado, Hank. Cheers from KY.
@@PecosHank when are you posting again it is tornado season
Living in Daviess County, Kentucky during the December tornado outbreak, I have to say it's a scary thing, I have no idea how you and other storm chasers manage to go out there and activley seek this dangerous force of nature, massive respect to you and all others in your field
I love how you pull so much footage together and add narration to both inform and entertain. I always look forward to your videos.
Well said. Ditto if I may.
It was only 26 minutes, but it felt like an hour. It's always a good day when you upload Hank! Thanks for the great content!

You make everything better. This should be nationally televised. Great content. Nothing this great should be unnoticed.
ahhh yes the annual tornados of the year is a must watch no matter who you are.
thank you pecos hank for being you and sharing your adventure with everyone.

I’m Chief Blackfeather and you are amazing and one of the kindest people on the road out there. Proud to follow and watch you.

I wanted to be a storm chaser as well in 2nd grade, I guess everyone goes through a tornado phase!
Same. Although for me it'd involve going to the other side of the world.
I used to brag in 3rd grade because I knew what a meteorologist was lol
A lot of shows I've seen do that for the drama and the views but I love how relaxed you are in your tellings, even with the big storms its still a very respectful, "relaxed" atmosphere which makes it easy to learn from
I was near the TN, Kentucky, etc. outbreak. That was terrifying tbh. Great storm chasing to you!
I was in Arkansas, we got hit with the tail-end of the storm, and just that was bad. Can’t imagine what it was like closer to the center of the storm.
I was in Kentucky
I’ve been in Florida for 2 years now and have only had 2 tornado watches that I could tell weren’t going to produce anything. I can feel the pressure drop that comes with a tornado because of arthritis. Now, I just have to listen for hurricanes coming!

Love your content hank. Keep it going never stop chasing
Yeah, they are very traumatizing, where I used to live one almost hit our house and I still remember the sound of it until this day.

I think it is also important to note that we don't know if the Tri State was one tornado either.
Truly one of my favorite UA-camrs. I find it difficult to find people who can balance education, entertainment, and quality, but Hank can do all of these. Winning personality and an incredibly talented.
Watching Hanks yearly recaps has become more significant to me than New years eve itself, again a masterclass of a video 👌
Those lightning sprites are incredible. I have never seen them myself, but maybe the storms we get here on the Prairies of Western Canada aren't as big and strong as the storms in the South.
Thanks again for an awesome video Hank.
