I can say that without a shadow of a doubt, Hanks annual tornado recap is the highlight of my entire year. Nothing tops the thrill I get every time it pops up.
What I love most about Pecos' videos is that he doesn't just show tornadoes, but also showcases the different animals he finds and shows off the amazing landscapes he drives through.

It's so rare he is stressed about things that really don't matter. He even has his emotions controlled well in life-threatening scenarios. I think these moments are also poetic in both the content of the message, but also its delivery: "AND! ... they didn't have... any golden grahams... at Love's... ...but they did have... Cinnamon. Toast. Crunch", and "but I think between venting to you guys, and my Cinnamon Toast Crunch... everything's gonna be okay" I LOVE IT. A true artist of the craft

Hank is my all time Tornado Documentarian on UA-cam. With his homespun accent and phenomenal way of filming, I'm shocked that he hasn't landed a TV gig on Discovery or The Weather Channel by now.
Hank, you inspired me to study tornadoes deeper for a university assignment, and I never knew that studying could be so fun! Thanks for all you do for everyone! Love from here in Wales!
Yesterday in Buenos Aires we experienced a nasty storm (similar to the one in 2012) directo or whatever which was 600km long. I hope Hank you are good and documented it. Unfortunately people died because of fallen trees and a sport club bulding in Bahia Blanca.
That enormous sprite captured at 14:30 is absolutely spectacular, Hank! Really appreciate you sharing your phenomenal footage with us, my friend. A few years back I dove into the sprites and elves rabbit hole only to discover that we really didn't know much about them at all, including cause and/or effect. Have we been making any significant progress in that department, by chance?

I’m 63. At 63, you don’t have many hero’s. But if I did again….Pecos, you’d be that person. From “grasshopper navigators” to being ethically-conflicted. From “Big Daddy Sprites” to flatulent Bullfrogs. You blend cool music, a profound passion for nature, humour, humility, a deep knowledge for your subject, and compassion for people, animals….and gas station food. Above all, you’ve got a thing for Tornadoes that you relate to us, that just really resonates with me. Thank you Pecos, for 2023.
I am in Little Rock, AR…we are still recovering from the March 31 storm. The🌪️ took out one of our Kroger stores, thankfully it reopened a few weeks ago. The news stations did not cover the bulk of the homes that were destroyed. Some homes sustained EF 4 damage. The area’s affected still looks like a war zone. 💔 Thanks for covering our state.
Hi Hank! Hope you are enjoying your time in Argentina! I hope you were able to document the big and terrible storm down in Bahía Blanca a couple weeks ago. It was such a tragedy. A big hug from Buenos Aires!
2023 was certainly an unusual year for tornadoes, from the unexpected Double High-Risk Setup from March 31st to going from a slow spring season to an active summer. Thanks for all you do, Hank!
Hank I absolutely adore everything you do! Not only are your videos packed full of fun and adventure but I feel like I learn so much from you! I enjoy meteorology and Enviromental Science deeply and you are one of the people who inspire me to learn the most! I'd love a video someday or even just a snippet of how this became your life! The routes and challenges that lead you to where you are today! Love always!!!
Hank is not just a great storm chaser, musician, narrator and overall amazing human being, he's also an incredibly skilled editor. These videos are always masterpieces and they do make my day. Hank, take care you legend!
@@Madrrrrrrrrrrrclearly you are not that educated on tornadoes. I don’t mean to sound like an asshole. Everyone who chases was new at one point. An EF3 tornado is extremely strong and can absolutely destroy majority of structures. Just because it doesn’t wipe a foundation clean doesn’t mean it’s not strong. EF5 is so strong the human brain cannot even comprehend it. If you ever get into chasing and see a tornado I think you will comprehend how strong they are a little bit better. Seeing them in person gives you a better understanding of how powerful they are. Whenever people ask me I tell them it looks fake. It’s so hard to comprehend what you are looking it. You can smell, hear and sometimes feel them. It’s a earththy, tree, leaf and dirt smell and a roar that I always associated with a waterfall.
Dude, the editing, the storytelling, the music and the beatiful shots are all so on point in all of your videos, THANK YOU! everytime you upload its like christmas
Hey Hank, I've been watching your vidoes for a few years now, and I wanted to applaud the pacing in your videos. Not only does every video you make feature mind-boggling shots of storms and other weather phenomena, but it transitions beautifully between every part. The editing in your annual storm chasing videos is unmatched by any other documentary-like content I've seen on UA-cam, and it really enhances the experience. All this to say the grasshopper montage kept me laughing for longer than I wish it had. Amazing video as always :)

A man with passion and compassion, talent and integrity...... We could really use thousands more just like you to teach us so much more than the biology of storms. Wishing you & yours a Merry Christmas ❤ Stay safe and keep doing it the way only Pecos Hank can!! Im going to re-watch some of my favorites 😊
Always a great day when Pecos Hank uploads. I really appreciate the approach you gave towards damaged areas. A level of respect and gravity to the raw human impact.
Hank's videos are a treat; his annual storm compilation is an annual event! The photography, editing & informative narrative..& music.. is beautifully timed & captivating!
Watching this from The Netherlands, it's been a life long dream to see a tornado in real life like you have in the USA. Your video's are always so well put together, and your voice is really easy to listen to. Your camera work is incredible as well. I also love your taste of music on your appreciation for all kinds of wildlife, we actually have a lot in common! 😅 I really appreciate the work you out into making these video's for our entertainment. Been a subscriber for a long time now and never missed a single video. Again, thank you for your hard work and keep doing what you have been doing for all of these years. I hope there are many more video's to come! Much love, Robin van Walsem 🇳🇱
This is one of the best positive representations of America that I have ever seen. Right now a lot of Americans turn away from their home culture and glorify other cultures. I even did this to the point of moving abroad. This video shows so many aspects of America from the people who are willing to reach out to complete strangers, Cars and the specific type of freedom they provide, consumer culture, and even the amazing biodiversity that is present. I believe that this video is a cultural masterpiece.
The "correct"/"incorrect" grasshopper bit had me rolling. Love your ability to find beauty and even humor in the wake of such a destructive force of nature.
We just had one in Clarksville, TN, I got an alarm saying Tornado Warning at 1:43, another learning saying seek shelter immediately at 1:44, at 1:45 I go outside and look in the sky and see Debris in the air and a tornado heading straight towards me, thankfully it died right before it hit my neighborhood, but not everyone was fortunate
you are the reason I love watching storm chasers since the 3rd grade and I got interested into storms and tornadoes and I really wanna say thank you for expanding my interests in tornadoes 😋 (and I’m so glad I’m still watching these videos till this day)
Once again, by far the best cinematography by a single individual on UA-cam, I would argue it rivals bigger teams output as far as quality. Once again he delivers even though we knew this year wasn’t the best year he’s had chasing, it’s still such a beautifully crafted story.
One detail you neglected is that Hank has several colleagues who are also good at photography and video. Hank has been using shared video for years to be able to show different views of the same storm. His video editing, narration and background music are always very well thought through-- no wonder that other chasers are delighted to share footage with him!
For anyone who's creeped out by sirens....let me tell you. It's even more terrifying when you're there. I moved back to TX a few years ago, and 2 weeks after we moved, one went through Ft Worth. I was in my 2nd floor apartment with no basement and weak stairs, with sires going off and the phone popping constant Tornado Emergency alerts, watching the radar with my cats trying not to have flashbacks to when one went through my grandma's backyard in Winston-Salem, NC many, many years ago. Once you live through one, you never forget that sound. Thank you for everything you do, Hank. The outtakes always make me laugh, the real, genuine side of Stormchasing these days give people the understanding that it's not as absolutely glamorous as some movies and shows make you think. You genuinely care about people, and love what you do, and every single bit of it shows. Congrats on 1M subs, it's so well deserved!
Your videos never disappoint, Hank. There might be some great footage out there, but the way you make me and many others excited for the chase and all the side quests along the way is unparallelled. You're one of the best on UA-cam in my book!
I can't even say how thankful I am for your content. It's educational, interesting and obvious how much work and love you put into them. Looking back, it's been almost 10 years since I discovered your channel and learned a lot from it. It also valided my interest in the forces of mother nature. Thank you for your work! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and adventures with us! Much love from Germany ❤
Mr. Hank I love the work you do, and the sweet spirit with which you do it. I've got just one note for you. At 1:13, you didn't specify where in Louisiana that tornado happened. I'm from Alabama. I grew up taking cover from tornadoes. Well, in 2016 I found myself working at a small zoo in Broussard, Louisiana. You know '16 was a rough year down that way. I'd never seen catastrophic flooding before. It scared the soil out of me. Any time it'd start raining, I'd start henny-pennying and crying, and just plain freaking out. (Privately, or course. Don't want to frighten the zoo visitors.) My sweet local coworkers took all that horrifying flooding in stride. But then one day, there was a threat of possible tornadoes in the area. All my coworkers were ghastly pale, yet I was perfectly comfortable. So that tornado that hit Louisiana here in this video probably scared 'em real bad. Since '17 I've been back in Alabama where it's safe, with just tornadoes and limestone sinkholes about every square foot. I held my ground and did my job at that zoo until I finally fled, having given proper notice. My coping skills must be tardy, because once I got home, I had nightmares for a month about those floods. Today, I don't "fk w/no water." Turn around, don't drown. So if you can, edit in and name the town in LA that tornado hit. They're a local-oriented and very loving people. :)
Hank you will always be one of my favourite youtubers with your way of telling your stories with capturing the beautiful twisty winds, but also your experiences with other stuff like the snakes, animals or other things you wanted to share with us like the red sprites and lightning phenomena. It really feels like we're someone you wanted to tell all about your adventures! I am very sorry about what happened with the tornado damage part, though. It must have been truly heartbreaking to have someone you love so much lost so tragically, my condolences go for them and their families, wish the best for recovery. You are a wonderful guy, Hank and I wish the absolute best for you in Argentina and its wonderful you're travelling to other countries to see what they have! Happy traveling, and happy trails! ^^
The video I’m most pumped about each year. Hank is the gift that keeps on giving! Bringing us so much knowledge and exposure of tornadoes and the destruction they cause while still being sensitive to victims. I’m sure many are inspired to help out after seeing these 🙌🏼 thank you for putting yourself in harms way to help people ❤
Christmas came early! The way you capture and present nature (both storms and wildlife) in these mini-documentaries is so well put together. Thank you Hank for the sacrifices you make to produce this content, God Bless!!
Impressive all around! Nobody paints quite like mother nature, so I believe the real artist is her. But, we wouldn't immotalize it all without our photographers, so credit to all of 'em. Good lookin shots and amazing camera work! Here's to another year of tornadoes and fun filming!
Between the music and beautiful timelapse photography, the nature documentaries, science, humour and wonderful narration, yours is still the benchmark storm chasing format out there that also attracts the best collaborators. Stay well and long may it continue!
I have been watching this channel for 8 years now from since i was 11 and you are still one of the best of this platform. I get so excited with every upload and love to see the “tornadoes of” videos. Thanks for all the amazing photography and documenting Hank, and stay safe on the chase!
Great video, probably my favorite of yours. It showcases all the elements of storm chasing. The passion and joy, the community and brotherhood of chasers, the beauty and power of tornados but also the tragedy and human compassion. Nice work!
The grasshopper segment is so funny omg. I love the balance of atmosphere in this video! Great mix of awesome tornados, sad reality of their destruction, and chill/funny jokes :)

This got uploaded on my birthday today. What an absolute treat! Love watching every one of your videos, thank you so much for all the work you do, especially with how dangerous it can be some days, or how tiring it can be others. Looking forward with keeping up with your journeys!
Loving your videos, music selection, and humor quite a bit. After having dealt with an intense storm yesterday and insurance today I needed some photogenic tornados and silly grasshoppers. You're gonna be super busy this year so stay safe out there.
One of the best things about a Pecos Hank video is watching with the subtitles on and it changing "tornado" into "burrito" probably 80% of the time. I suggest trying this for the laughs.
Solid candidate for most entertaining tornado videos ever. Hank, you're a master artist. The videos are nice, but the narration, the music, and the overall storytelling are the main ride. The grasshopper bit made my wife shush me for laughing out loud while we're trying to get some sleep. Thanks for that.

Hank that was a tremendous lightning bolt outside your window at 2:59. Thanks for adding the little scenes with the big scenes. The big, wide-angle storms are so amazing in your lens. You are the one they should give an IMAX camera to!

Hank is my all time Tornado Documentarian on UA-cam. With his homespun accent and phenomenal way of filming, I'm shocked that he hasn't landed a TV gig on Discovery or The Weather Channel by now.
I believe he was consulted for Twisters and probably more idk
Hank, you inspired me to study tornadoes deeper for a university assignment, and I never knew that studying could be so fun! Thanks for all you do for everyone! Love from here in Wales!
I remember watching Hank when I was about 7 or 8. And ever since I have been into tornados. Thank you Hank for inspiring people.
Yesterday in Buenos Aires we experienced a nasty storm (similar to the one in 2012) directo or whatever which was 600km long. I hope Hank you are good and documented it. Unfortunately people died because of fallen trees and a sport club bulding in Bahia Blanca.
Derecho, sorry to hear about deaths
That enormous sprite captured at 14:30 is absolutely spectacular, Hank! Really appreciate you sharing your phenomenal footage with us, my friend. A few years back I dove into the sprites and elves rabbit hole only to discover that we really didn't know much about them at all, including cause and/or effect. Have we been making any significant progress in that department, by chance?
watch his other video about them, they think they figured out what they are thanks to their photography and newer better cameras
Can you actually see them with the naked eye?
@legolina17 yes but it's almost impossible because of the conditions needed but yes
@@SouninLurksmost of the time very faintly depending on atmospheric conditions and elevation. They happen so fast that you question whether or not you actually saw them.

Your storytelling and cinematography paint such a poignant picture of the life of a storm chaser. This is exactly what I wanted to do as a child -- having been transfixed by the mysteriousness of twisters and supercells. I'm super thankful I can live vicariously through your adventures!
14:47 The bug splatter on the windshield with that musical sting sent me 🤣
Thanks for all you do, Hank!
did you mean unusual?
Not to mention the EF-4 in Canada
Its so incredibly sad to think that we won't see another one of these for a whole year. These are by far your best videos!
Yup. And I'm also a huge fan of him mostly scoring his own work, I come here for the music and the craft as much as I come for the burritos.
And a comedian lol the bullfrogs
He acts like a f3 tornado is super deadly. I stopped the video. You should see what a f5 with a 2 miles base does. See the accu weather video on that.
Hank's skill as an editor is one step away from witchcraft
The way he ran out of the shot at 9:38 had me cracking up. I love the chemistry between you two!
9:38. The theme to Endless Summer plays. Love this guy’s music and taste in music.
Chase safely Hank. My 3 year old son is in awe.
Dude, the editing, the storytelling, the music and the beatiful shots are all so on point in all of your videos, THANK YOU! everytime you upload its like christmas
He is early this year 😊
Hey Hank, I've been watching your vidoes for a few years now, and I wanted to applaud the pacing in your videos. Amazing video as always :)
hell yeah it's that time of year again! been waiting for this all year. for 4-5 years now I've been waiting for the yearly updates and they never fail to disappoint with beautiful storms, videos, narration, everything. one of my favorite videos to watch! thank you for making these videos every year pecos hank :] you're an amazing creator and a huge inspiration for me.
The "incorrect" grasshoppers... You killed me. I laughed so hard I cried
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOO NEW PECOS HANK VIDEO
RAAAAAAHHHHHHH LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
IIIIIIIRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
YEEESSSSSSS
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
A man with passion and compassion, talent and integrity...... We could really use thousands more just like you to teach us so much more than the biology of storms. Wishing you & yours a Merry Christmas ❤ Stay safe and keep doing it the way only Pecos Hank can!! Im going to re-watch some of my favorites 😊
Always a blast watching your videos, Pecos! My condolences to all the lives impacted in Texas, stay safe and have fun chasing through 2024!
there certainly was a blast at 14:19 🤣
Always a great day when Pecos Hank uploads. I really appreciate the approach you gave towards damaged areas. A level of respect and gravity to the raw human impact.
Love your guitar playing Hank, & your fantastic tornado coverage.
Best weather channel on the net💯👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
Hank's videos are a treat; his annual storm compilation is an annual event! The photography, editing & informative narrative..& music.. is beautifully timed & captivating!
Watching this from The Netherlands, it's been a life long dream to see a tornado in real life like you have in the USA. Your video's are always so well put together, and your voice is really easy to listen to. Your camera work is incredible as well. I also love your taste of music on your appreciation for all kinds of wildlife, we actually have a lot in common! 😅
I really appreciate the work you out into making these video's for our entertainment.
I love that you educate us not only on storms, but wildlife as well, and you always stop to help people if they ask for it. Genuinely wholesome. 💕
8:08 supercell I’m sorry New Mexico for that supercell
Well,
in 2016 I found myself working at a small zoo in Broussard, Louisiana.
You know '16 was a rough year down that way.
I'd never seen catastrophic flooding before.
It scared the soil out of me.
Any time it'd start raining,
I'd start henny-pennying and crying, and just plain freaking out.
(Privately, or course. Don't want to frighten the zoo visitors.)
My sweet local coworkers took all that horrifying flooding in stride.
But then one day,
there was a threat of possible tornadoes in the area.
All my coworkers were ghastly pale, yet I was perfectly comfortable.
So that tornado that hit Louisiana here in this video
probably scared 'em real bad.
Since '17 I've been back in Alabama where it's safe,
with just tornadoes and limestone sinkholes about every square foot.
I held my ground and did my job at that zoo until I finally fled,
having given proper notice.
My coping skills must be tardy, because once I got home,
I had nightmares for a month about those floods.
Today, I don't "fk w/no water." Turn around, don't drown.
So if you can, edit in and name the town in LA that tornado hit.
They're a local-oriented and very loving people. :)
Who else appreciates what he does for us and for the wildlife. Nice job bro 👍
Edit: “MOM I’M FAMOUS”
absolutely, dude is the closest thing I have to a role model
Yep he's awesome. As a fellow chaser my goal is to meet him someday
Don't forget that he provides the music track as well
I second this.
So much so that the lives lost aren't first and foremost in what interests most of us
Hank you will always be one of my favourite youtubers with your way of telling your stories with capturing the beautiful twisty winds, but also your experiences with other stuff like the snakes, animals or other things you wanted to share with us like the red sprites and lightning phenomena.
I am in no way a weather or tornado enthusiast, but something about Hank's channel has kept me coming back for a decade.
The video I’m most pumped about each year. Hank is the gift that keeps on giving! Bringing us so much knowledge and exposure of tornadoes and the destruction they cause while still being sensitive to victims. I’m sure many are inspired to help out after seeing these 🙌🏼 thank you for putting yourself in harms way to help people ❤
Whenever these videos come out I feel like they are a checkpoint for the end of the year.
12:21 THE LITTLE BUG JUMPING IN SLOW MOTION IS MAKING ME LAUGH SO HARD RIHT NOW OH MY GOD
14:12 AHHAHAHSHASHAHSH
bug > burrito
Christmas came early! The way you capture and present nature (both storms and wildlife) in these mini-documentaries is so well put together. Thank you Hank for the sacrifices you make to produce this content, God Bless!!
Your season recaps are always worth the wait. Keep up the amazing work, Hank.
I've been following you since 2018, I really like your videos.
This channel never fails to exude a sense of spectacle and showcase the grand scope of not just severe weather, but the entire Great Plains.
8:09 has gotten to be one of the coolest looking shelf cloud formations I've ever seen! You always have such amazing weather footage, your charismatic breaks in between the tornado footage is just the cherry on top!
1 million percent amazing Hank! You passion for tornadoes, amazing weather, animals, and entertainment is second to none. Thank you!
"Where's my spork?" Made me laugh. Why am I only just now finding this amazing channel?
Was having the worst day until I got the notification Pecos Hank posted, day turned around immediately
This got uploaded on my birthday today. What an absolute treat! Love watching every one of your videos, thank you so much for all the work you do, especially with how dangerous it can be some days, or how tiring it can be others. Looking forward with keeping up with your journeys!
Happy Birthday! 🎉🎂🎈
Happy Birthday 🎁
I can't believe you are coming to Argentina!!! I love your videos so much and you've inspired me to see the beauty in storms and for that I'm forever grateful and inspired !! Can't wait to see the beautiful pics and footage you'll capture in my homeland!!! Bienvenido a Argentina!!
We have a big strorm yesterday... Now aproaching another one...
Had a wonderful time in Argentina. The Andes, Iguazu Falls, and the storms!
I wait for these all year every year! Can't wait to see more Hank!
Hank that was a tremendous lightning bolt outside your window at 2:59. Thanks for adding the little scenes with the big scenes. The big, wide-angle storms are so amazing in your lens. You are the one they should give an IMAX camera to!
Never said this before but I love this channel. You watching a great documentary in one breath, this is amazing
Yet another beautiful and fascinating video, Hank! Your cinematography and camera skills are second to none! Truly one of the greatest storm chasers of our generation.
Hank, the grasshopper segment was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Tears in my eyes over that one. Thank you for the laugh
Hank, it looks like Daniel Shaw captured my vehicle on the road side at 15:26. Again, you've made a wonderful video, just my kind of relaxing storytelling with comedy, animals and gorgeous cinematography. Thanks!
You know Its a good day when Pecos Hank uploads!!!
Wow. You put a lot of work into this video, and it came out great! Loved seeing your storm chasing adventures all over the world. I'm super excited for the "Tornadoes of Argentina" video.
...
Those bullfrogs sure where loud
Hank's music adds such a unique charm to his videos. He's quite possibly one of a few people on this planet capable of making it work SO WELL with his footage.
You know it’s going to be a good day when Pecos Hank uploads 🔥
12:45 bro must be enjoying life😭💀
Lol
I love these documentaries.
They really help understand how strong these tornadoes can be.
Keep up the great work Hank and never stop chasing.
Hank, this video is absolutely fantastic, as always! Such raw beauty within these storms and the way you capture them. Happy trails!
This is such a beautifully put together video. I love it man! 🌪️⚡️
Hey Hank! Been watching you since the 2011 El-Reno EF-5 You had captured with your brother. I absolutely love seeing your yearly recaps and hope they keep on coming. The quality is absolutely amazing and the way you intersect music with nature and photography encapsulates me every time! Keep it going! ~From SoCal
I can't believe I'm the first commenter on a Pecos Hank video! As always fantastic content so far, thank you so much for sharing what you do!
