You know how big those power lines are, and then you see a tornado take it out so easily 5:54 gotta be the most scariest sight ever for me! (You can even hear it coming down!)
It's footage like this that has made Pecos Hank the best videographer in the field of storm chasing. Anyone can film a storm, or even a tornado.. but Hank adds something to his work that is uniquely his.. I can't explain it, it's just there, he simply knows how to put a scene togeather and makes you feel the awesome power and heart pounding terror of these storms. He isn't foolish with his life, but yet he will stand his ground for just those few extra seconds that moves his videos from the realm of "just another tornado video" to something almost a work of art, if it isn't already! Great work Hank.. keep it up.. but stay safe about it!
Also, its his unique narration. Hes calm collected and very witty. Most storm chasers start screeching like little girls. They get overexcited. Dont get me wrong I know that storm chasing is really intense but, Pecos Hank sure delivers his narration perfect and, this is what set you apart.
I love the way you show your route along with the path of the tornado, and I love how you transition between before and after shots so we get an idea of what was behind the trees and how bad the damage was. I'm so glad Vicky and her husband survived and I hope they're doing well now.
This is a superb piece of videography. They way he superimposes damage photos with what he can see at the time, the additional details about what happened to people, and the maps showing his position, make for an extremely tense, suspenseful, and informative video. Top notch.
I hope he does this more with any future videos. It really gives you an idea of how impactful the tornado was and just how far or quick a tornado can come.

Even if you don't believe in religion or i guess specifically Christianity than can't you at least understand that these people wish him well and that is the message they are trying to convey? So, not only do you help the STEM community and general public by adding educational information to your videos, you rescue humans and other animals on the road. I’m an undergraduate meteorology major, and I must say that your videos have helped me learn much more about tornadoes and tornado prediction. You’re a wonderful and intelligent person, and I wish you safety in your future chases.
I know, right? I honestly have so much more admiration for storm chasers in general than I did when I was younger (like a lot of people, I just assumed they were all stupid, crazy people looking for a cheap thrill) and I wish I could do it too but I'm way too anxious of a person to do such a high risk job lol. I would probably panic if I got that close and then get myself killed because I'm not thinking clearly. It really takes a special kind of person to do this. Without them, we wouldn't have nearly the understanding of storms that we do today.
The editing of this video is nothing short of brilliant with the superimposed before/after videos synced up. It is also terrifying as all hell. I have nothing but respect for you, sir. The world needs more selfless and compassionate people like you. I'm so glad I found your youtube channel!
I swear tornadoes are one of the scariest things in existence. Even though I don't live anywhere that gets a lot of really bad natural disasters, tornadoes are one of my biggest fears. Just imagine getting picked up and thrown to the ground by one of those things. That just sounds horrific and terrifying. And getting picked up adds to my fear of heights. It's just horrible.
Years ago my family home was destroyed by tornadoes in Texas. My mom was a weather girl she knew when the tornadoes was coming and she would run underground in the cellar. The thunder and lightning is horrific also. I was afraid of the big clouds.
What an absolutely wonderful woman. I admire her faith and her attitude she carried through that insanely tough situation. And you're damn right she was packing heat. You don't get into a strangers car without at least a .38 in this state!
The video is exceptional. The contrast between the trees and the monster on the other side was brilliant, chilling, informative and awe inspiring! Great narration and presence. Really would enjoy seeing you do a show on Discovery, Weather or one of those channels.

5:53 is honestly one of the most chilling shots I’ve seen. It shows the true strength of Mother Nature as the tornado effortlessly takes down the transmission tower...
I was cheering for that electric tower thing (that carries the wires) and I thought it was gonna make it since most of the tornado had passed it but then it fell over and I was sad.

I literally watched one video and it wasn’t even a real tornado it was from wind picking up sand and spinning it into a mini tornado that people where dancing in and messing around in it lol Now UA-cam thinks that’s all I wanna see.
That is what makes tornadoes in the South so deadly. Out in Kansas and Oklahoma, you can see those monsters coming from a long distance away, even if it is shrouded in rain. In the south, there are plenty of trees and hills, so it is extremely difficult to storm chase, and you often don't see them until you drive right into them.
@@kylasdead I'm in the state y'all hate, but I hail from Georgia. The thing that really struck me here coming from the deep south was the wide open spaces. You can go up on a moderately sized hill and see for several miles in every direction. In Georgia, you could see jack nuthin'. Just a sea of pine and hills.
DasBubba I was just in Georgia a week ago! It was pretty nice to be honest, I mean I bet quite a few people visit Georgia to go on vacation and whatnot but I don’t think anyone would ever want to come to Kansas! It’s so boring out here with all of our fields 😩 there’s never anything fun to do ever!! We have such cold winters and hot summers! Not as hot as Georgia though, considering it’s pretty close to Florida
@@kylasdead Yeah, Georgia has a few things to do when you're in the Metro Area. Georgia pretty much has everythin' when it comes to geography. Down in the south of the state, around Valdosta, it's pretty flat like Kansas, except without the cold winters. It was a good state, and I hope to return to it eventually. I think the best thing about Kansas is that if you don't like people, or the government, it is a great place to live. If you're lucky, you can make a hell of a lot of money of farming. The Plains can be deceptively rich, especially since I've noticed a lot of farmers don't flaunt their wealth.

Such a fine woman. Lost everything, husband's neck is broken and she still finds a way to send prayers for you. True Christians. God Bless them and you, Hank.
@Beir Stop your arguing. However I will say this: you don't have to be a Christian or a believer in any God to be a good person. She displayed a great attitude and was extremely gracious despite her life being literally turned upside down. Many people in her situation would be in a panic but she showed her strength as a human being. Her being a great person is more about her choosing to be a great person as believing in God, Jesus, Jehovah, Allah, Buddha, or whoever doesn't in itself make one a great person as I'm sure most religions' main goal is to teach their followers to be good people. And to Yeah Boii, of course following a God is all about faith. I suppose it's better to have a little faith in something that can help make you a better person than to come across as the pessimistic miserable human being you're acting like. I wish you the best my man.

Love the video Hank. Also terrifying. We were directly hit by the long track (second deadly tornado you're taking about) in this storm in Canton. Destroyed everything we had. We got out only 30 seconds before it hit. When we saw it we didn't even realize it was a tornado. We thought it was just a very low cloud. Then it picked up our car and threw us. Thankfully we were all ok. Thank you for your video. I revisit it a few times a year
Hey, I'm from Germany. While the climate is going crazy in the last years, we got little dust devils und little winds that might can be called "tornados" ourselfs over here. but these storms you are recording is far beyond the storms in Germany. nevertheless I understand why they can be seen as beatiful. thank you for your recordings and stay safe.
@Mary Burdette compared to international or american supercells we dont get suchs things at all. But, over the last 10 years and especially in the last 3 years, the thunderstorms and everything included like hail, lightning and wind force itself got very intense. I'm living in a city with 300k+ ppl. and my street/block got flooded waist-deep twice in one month.
@@raviolisgale6337 I remembered something. It was at the Wacken Festival in 2016 I guess, when I experienced something far beyond the usuall stuff. Maybe because the location is very near the sea.
@Mary Burdette Nah we have just sometimes a bad storm but that might even be just once a year or once every two years, at least here in Eastern Germany. In Eastern Germany we actually get nothing because right to our left are some mountains called "Harz" and all rain clouds and other shit mostly gets stopped from these mountains, as most storms come from the west, as the wind and weather in Europe is majorly influenced by the stream of the Gulf of Mexico. Sometimes shit can come from the south too and that is the only times I have and will have experienced a bad storm.
Tornados are the same everywhere in the world. A EF3 in Germany is the same like USA or Canada or elsewhere. Maybe the damage looks more spectacular in USA because of there building-style. So these words (little winds that might can be called "tornados"....) are totaly bullshit!
So you didnt understand my post. Let me help you with that, so we can get the "bullshit" out of the way; Supercells like these ones in the Videos are very very very rare in Europa. Yes they exist, and yes in Europa or Germany there is damage and there are storms, but moving circled cells like this not.

Really appreciate your comments Chris. Keep the goodness coming!

This is a superb piece of videography. They way he superimposes damage photos with what he can see at the time, the additional details about what happened to people, and the maps showing his position, make for an extremely tense, suspenseful, and informative video. Top notch.

1:34 to 1:55 Note well taken, never drive through tree filled areas during a tornado. 😓
DasBubba I should know...considering I live in Kansas
@@kylasdead I'm in the state y'all hate, but I hail from Georgia. The thing that really struck me here coming from the deep south was the wide open spaces. DasBubba I was just in Georgia a week ago!

Live life to the fullest everyone and never stop moving forward I hope everyone has a blessed day and be safe out there.
I love how he uses the EAS beeper as his cuss sensor.

My God. You can see it pull down the tall power pole with ease at 5:52.
Christopher R. You could hear it also!
The first time I saw that I thought it was a ferris wheel
That's my town and we were without power for one week in town and that area two to three weeks. The still have no replaced cell towers.
i wonder if that creek noise heard during all that was either that high tension power pole or the sound effects heard in his music
And one of the giant ones! They're like 100+ feet tall!
Imagine running out of gas and it’s coming straight for you
Please don't make me!😂
I would crap my pants.
then i'll be imagining bending over and kissing my ass goodbye, i suppose .. .
I would shit my pants
Better find a ditch and pray
