ive only used a 9mm socket on a snap-on brake lathe, german hydraulic hose clamps bolts, and a few brake bleeders on a few cars and dirtbikes.
MATCO Tools impact swivels are awesome plus your Matco boxes are awesome!
Sunex or gearwrench
Nice review. Appreciate your thoughts and observations.
*I also like that set of universal extensions. On a side note, I am notoriously a MATCO hater but, I have loved your box since I seen it on your toolbox tour video. That thing is handsome.*
Awesome video Travis👍 I agree with you GearWrench has stepped up their game and are making quality tools at an affordable price.
Thanks Brian, a lot of their new stuff has really impressed me!
Astro pneumatic makes a pinless set now to,extremely similar to the gearwrench aesthetically
They dont sell the extended ones, at least not yet.
I imagine same factory makes them all
Hey man how have they been holding up was thinking about getting those a sunex set or the adv matco set what would you recommend I would love the matco pinless but don’t wanna pay the price
Hello Working Class Garage
Your video maybe a year old, but you got me to Subscribe. By the way, Great Video. Now that you've had the Gearwrench set for a year now, how have they held up. Do you think they will go long term? Do you have any hindsight that someone like me should know? I have a suggestion for a Video. Magnetic universal joint sockets and Extensions. Both Gearwrench and Sunex make a set, they both look very similar to me. What I cannot find out is how much magnetic pull do they have? If you're goal is to not dropped tools and parts. I would think that would be very important information. What do you use? Again thank you
Matco is no longer part of Apex,Fortive owns Matco now since 2016
What do you think grey pneumatic universal socket
Really good quality
Very good product Let's go Brandon 😷 😷 😷 😷 😷
Well I can give you my opinion on them, the x-core universal sockets.. The are rubbish the steel is soft, I've broken the 19mm after 3 weeks then the 17mm and now 13mm I've had a cheap set of genius universal sockets for about 7 year's now never broken one.. The get a hard life as I'm diesel truck mechanic.. I also got gearwrench x-core exction socket's 8mm to 15mm the work well but same problem the 8mm is about to let go due to the soft crap steel the are mead in China the a copy of matco super disappointed with them.. I'd say buy sunex or snapon way better quality don't take my word for it.. buy them and see for yourself...
Correct me if I'm wrong. But impact rated sockets/extensions ARE softer steel. To absorb the impacts without cracking.
Sounds to me like you're not using yours for their intended use. I can't see how an 8mm bolt would have enough tension to damage to tool.
This has been verified by other youtubers that have them damaged so bad they are locked up. I was going to try them out but after seeing how soft the steel is, no way. Btw just because impact are supposed to resist cracking does not mean they should be soft just a different impact resistant steels similar to ar500. Hard as a hammer. people are morons do not understand metlurgy.
@@BryceMR2SW20 Not soft but impact resistant. Some steels are still hard but rated to resist impact and are durable. Cheap is cheap and you can't make excuses for a tool that does not perform well.
This guy sounds so shady
