  • We stripped several lugnuts on our 1969 Chevy C10 pickup truck to the point where they were round. Using just the GEARWRENCH Bolt Biter Deep Extraction Sockets and an impact wrench, we removed the lug nuts with no issues. However, one of the lugnuts did require that we use the 13/16- for the most stripped lugnut.

    I believe they can be used in forward, to help bust a seized bolt or nut. Sometimes, if you torque the fastener forward, then reverse again, it helps to break it free.

    I love gearwrench. They may not be the best but for wrenches and sockets they're my preferred brand.

    I would love to see some extractors like that be tested on wheel locks. Most wheel locks have anti theft rings that just spin with traditional spiral fluted extractors. Also maybe use a rim with deeper lug nut opening cause most cars now days have very deep seated lug nuts.

    • @mikejensen1473
      @mikejensen1473 2 роки тому

      A cold chisel and a ball peen hammer will defeat the anti theft rings very quickly

    • @laukc7085
      @laukc7085 2 роки тому +1

      @@mikejensen1473 12 point sockets work pretty well on them too. Hammer one on and it will usually force the theft ring down and then will bite on the face of the lock nut.

    The forward is for rusted threads where when taking it off you have to go backwards and then forwards to clean out all the crap in the threads.

      Depending on the type. Won't work on all i assume because the smallest size is 19-3/4. Then theres the one with the spinning sleeve common on bmw. I think they'd work for most tho

    Not impressed at all I seen the comment section you have a lot of inexperienced talkin loud and saying nothing... All of us technicians whose experience is vast. Knows that 140 foot pounds is nothing for a lug nut you would have to go to approximately 190 ft lb along with extreme rust and corrosion along with being super rounded then see if that product could remove them
