Just an FYI the Andromeda has a cargo capacity of 96, not 40 something. Its also got the same shields and is a lot more robust than the Corsair, with better turret positions and 52 missiles. It'll actually be better for cargo running and combat than the Corsair
But you have to sit in the same plastic seat as the creepy dude in the Andromeda promo video, I mean, ewww. Corsair has 32 missiles once you ditch the oversized defaults, so comparable for the very limited missile window where you're either going to close fast or run like a b. Handling wise, Corsair is a tad nimbler and faster, with greater endurance. It's a choice of a few cargo boxes and better stealth over in your face duct tape and style...and guns that toast armor, not marshmallows. I may be slightly bias due to seeing the Andromeda promo and still getting flashbacks of his creepy face. That and owning a Corsair myself.
To be fair the space in the back makes it easier for vehicle and cargo entry and slightly less buggy, I personally would have the Taurus over the Corsair but I think the Corsair has a place in the large medium category. I am still abit interested in picking it back up to fit the up coming tumblrs storm tank…
I upgraded my taurus (best connie) to a corsair when they first released. I stand by my decision. While in many ways the connie is superior, the corsair has all the modern bells and whistles required to adapt new tech going forward. Eg, engineering gameplay etc. The connie needs various internal reworks and bug fixes.
@@NoobsGamingSC I bet money in combat, bounties, trade, in any contest... the Connie will beat the Corsair every time. Only thing corsair is better at is carrying vehicles/snub fighters ... only because the elevator of connie is buggy as fuck. Also depending on the model : Pheonix has wider elevator, Tauraus has longer elevator... you get different results depending on model of connie you have but in the end the elevator causes issue with carrying fighter and small 1/8 SCU cargo tends to fall through the floor when raising the elevator.
the problem is just if a size 1 missile hit you you get TORQUE IMBALANCE and become a sitting duck if someone wants to kill you. Flight model could be much better, maybe it will improve a bit when surface controls become a thing. Also the hull HP is very weak, when shields go down you better kill whatever you need to quikly, cause you cant outrun anything. Ive tryed the Corsair several times, it always manage to turn me down after a few uses... i was considering pledge it for the SSD, but could not justify, id stick the the 600i as the main big ship to "do it all" even with way less cargo space. At same price/size id pick the Andromeda or Aquila over the Corsair (Those have 96SCU of cargo and internal storage) Maybe in the future with some updates it could be great... like in 3.19.1 she has 1.5scu of internal storage, for 3.20 they buffed it to 72SCU and the Hydrogen Fuel capacity to 8 times more.... thats a huge improvement.
Have you tried the Phoenix, its my favourite and the best in my opinion. It may not have more cargo, more misslies, but it has a better interior. And that matters to me more, I'd rather fly in a ship with a good interior for months then one without. It's like a 5 star hotel that you can bring your friends with. If I want some cargo hauling I would buy the Cat or C2
Menix, Helmet fella! Then you got blown over, and your head came off. I, too, have just melted a few ships to get a Corsair to play with it whilst on sale for Haloween. I must say the only thing is the big wing is held on with bluetac. It just falls off even when you've got full shields. 😅 I'm experimenting, too, and I've not got in the cutty since getting it.
I did some high risk salvage in it and found that its cargo area seems more fragile than the base Freelancers. I had to repair it after tossing cargo in it from a distance.
i love my corsair, she’s my primary pledge for SC and there really isn’t anything i’d upgrade to. if the connie was gold standard then maybe i’d swap to that but probably not.
Yeah I love mine, slow speed in atmo though she heaves around like a beached whale. I can’t wait until permanence means permanent and I can really call it a home.
I think when the game and it's missions support people living on their ships for long periods instead of treating them as disposable short term rentals then people are going to realise that it is probably the best ships for 2-4 people to 'live aboard' in the game. The 400i will be nice for three players but it has limited uses. Obviously the 600i and Carrack will be good for larger crews but I think it will be rare for anyone to have more than three friends willing to spend multiple days away from a port.
For sure I cant wait for that, although something needs to be done about what if I own the ship and others are on it but i dont come on and they do, will they spawn on the ship@@RobinHartJones
@@NoobsGamingSC CIG have said that friends will be able to take over AI crew but that they will get no rewards or rep from doing that. If you were all wanting to get rep from a mission then I suppose the only way is to each take turns in doing it with the others helping. It is a great 'jack of all trades' ship for any PvE player, whether solo or with mates. It is most definitely a glass cannon. Its poor handling (especially in atmosphere) and relatively low hull hp, compared to a similar class ship like an Andromeda, means it isn't the best for PvP. People moan about this but it is what keeps the Corsair balanced, otherwise it would be Star Citizen's massively op meta ship!
That's a really good point. If they backed up the insane DPS with massive tankiness and great handling nobody would fly anything else. Every ship has to have its bad points or there would be no point in having more than just a few ships in the game.
I love the Corsair but in the interests of fairness, if you had run into trouble after loading up with gold or vice then you would have been in deep doggy do. The Corsair is great at attacking ships in space but in the atmosphere you are so slow and clumsy that you would be easily killed by even a small fighter if it has a human pilot and running is not an option. I *think* the Connie is faster though it's handling is slightly worse (yes Connie owners. That is a fact). One feature you did not mention though it was illustrated well in your footage was that it has powerful downward facing landing lights for use at those out-of-the-way outposts. If you had been flying something else you would have had more trouble finding a clear flat space to land.
Yes I did notice it was sluggish at fighting, I just finished the Connie one so I will upload that in the next day, defo close call between the 2 depending on firepower or Hull HP, and which you want more of
@@NoobsGamingSC I will admit that I just cannot stand Connies and nothing could make me buy one. I find them so badly designed & out that I never feel comfortable flying them.
I don't agree with your view about the Constellations, which are better then the Corsair. However the rivalry between ships in this game is literally one of my favourite things about this game, I sometimes just go on reddit and read the "difference between and which is best" for an hour or more. Especially the biggest question in star citizen and the the question being asked since the dawn of Star Citizen time; Cutless Black vs Freelancer 😂. In Starfield you have complete modification of ships but because of that you don't have this rivalry. Just love the drama between ships and ship manufacturers. It's just like the drama between game consoles and car owners.
