    We've found that 3M aluminum foil tape works best. You can crimp down pretty well on the tape to ensure good contact between the main fuse and leader fuse. And with it being metal, the tape acts as a good heat conductor to make even further sure the leader fuse ignites.

      What kind of black pipe you used? Is that ABS for plumbing. Thank you

      @tumbledmesh332 HDPE it doesn't throw shrapnel out if one does blow in the tube. DO NOT use PVC EVER. I've seen videos of it sending razor sharp shrapnel at people when something goes wrong.

    I bought this similar rack and this was helpful. Would paperclips work also to hold fuses together? Like laying one fuse on the previous one and just holding in place with paperclip.

    • @PYROBOOM
      @PYROBOOM  4 роки тому

      I'd not recommend paper clips. We sell 100 zip ties for about 80 cents. I'd also consider using tape. Just about any tape works.

    what size tubing should you use? is it dependent on the size motor? like you not want to put a 1" mortar in a 2"tube... or does that not matter?

    • @PYROBOOM
      @PYROBOOM  7 років тому +1

      The tubes should be DR11 HDPE. These work with all consumer shells (1.75").

    Nice video. Good instruction We don't have time for zip ties in pro shows. We us good old masking tape. Tom D.International Fireworks Mfg.Douglassville, PA

    Can I use one zip tie instead of two?

    • @PYROBOOM
      @PYROBOOM  5 років тому +1

      You can, but you are reducing the risk of losing your passfire. I'd not recommend it.

    I hooked mine up with one zip tie, some I taped. a lot of work. Hoping for a great show, but for some reason the fused lit but the mortar fuse didn't light. I ended up lighting 40 mortars by hand. Deeply disappointed. What went wrong?

    • @PYROBOOM
      @PYROBOOM  8 років тому +1

      Hard to say. Perhaps moisture in the fuse? Was it humid on that day? Maybe the zip tie was too tight? Did you trim the fuse at a 45 degree angle? There are so many factors that could have gone wrong I cannot give you a clear answer.

    I am wanting to buy some 3" and 4" mortar tubes (I have a shopping cart ready to go on your site) but finding racks to accommodate those sizes is very hard. Any recommended resources to get this done?

    I like yellow 4 second fuse for launching cans one right after the other. I think the 10 second fuse is way too slow

    Are those HDPE tubes? If so where can i buy them at? Home Depot?

    • @PYROBOOM
      @PYROBOOM  4 роки тому +2

      Yes, HDPE tubes. You can't buy HDPE at Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. It's a special order product and you usually need to buy thousands of feet at a time. The best way order tubes is order them online and they ready to go. I'd recommend www.pyroboom.com

    What size fuse do you use 2mm or 3mm?

    • @PYROBOOM
      @PYROBOOM  4 роки тому

      I'd use 3mm or 1/8 fuse, but really it does not matter, as long as it passes fire.

    Instead of using a leader fuse, why not just do fuse to fuse? Seems like it's long enough

    • @PYROBOOM
      @PYROBOOM  2 роки тому

      If the leader fuse is long enough, then you sure can do that.
