Hey, everyone! You might be having a case of déjà vu with this video, but don't worry about that! After, all, it's still an incredible story with an amazing payoff!
mohunter68 that was one of the dumbest statements I’ve ever heard, but jealousy does dumb things to people. They put in the work to buy ground and then put in the work to set it up for hunting. You prefer to put in work on public, they prefer to do it on private. Just because they do it different than what you like, gives you no right to claim they shoot pen raised deer!! These deer are 100% wild
Pen raised? LMFAO. I've seen Drury brothers property and there is not a fence a deer couldn't jump over. You have to realize there in zone 5 in southern Iowa. Lots of woods and plenty of good food source for deer to grow big. And there dnr has a thing called deer management . Maybe you could Google that to figure it out.
mohunter68 your just jealous, I mean yea not a lot of people can afford to buy the land they have and grow food plots, but you can’t say what you said they don’t have fences just deer that want to stick around because they have the resources
I get all the hunts with huge, shed still blinds hunting over a little kill plot confused. Once you've seen one episode of "dreary" tv, you've seen them all.
I've watched this video multiple times in the past couple years. Rodgers reaction when he finally connects with that absolute giant gets me every time.
@@DruryOutdoors Didn't you say at the beginning of the video that he had already taken several 200" deer? How is this a "once in a lifetime" deer? Seems like all you professional hunters routinely take 200" deer.
Russell Langworthy 😂no one “routinely” shoots 200 inch deer, they aren’t stupid as you can tell, these hunters put in countless hours growing those deer and passing up on them until they reach max potential, don’t say dumb stuff just because they know how to manage deer, those deer have 1000s of acres to Rome wherever they please and the hunters just pattern them until they make a mistake
A buck that size not giving up his harem or territory with a noticeable injury what a Beast ... just goes to show the resilience of the animal we love to hunt chase and scratch our heads to.... but to bring around family Is something special Mark drury thanks for teaching me how to call deer
Awesome. You knew you could make the shot and took it. Sometimes you gotta take a chance and be confident in your abilities. Great reaction too I'm very happy for you!!
THAT IS A STINK'N DONKEY!!!!!.......😶.......WHAT A DEER OF A LIFE TIME!!.... I'M TICKLED FOR YA BROTHER. I felt like I shortened my life span watchin that hunt. Wooooow that was stressful!!!! I would love to film for yall. I'm serious. I got the gift of filming angles and camera operation. The love and camaraderie us hunters ( I prefer Christian hunters) get to share together in the good and bad of hunts, is what really does it for me. I so enjoy sitting peacefully in the outdoors meditating on GODS goodness and love HE has for me and HIS children. I'm as happy for you Roger as if we were the best and closest of friends. ♥️
Congrats, its a beautiful thing and cant be explained to people who dont hunt, what us deer hunters go through, and when it all comes together, its something truly special and life changing with a deer like this.
If you can’t shed a tear when your in this guys shoes then you shouldnt be in the woods! By far one of my favorite videos just because how excited and emotional he got over a beautiful animal like that! Persistence and hard work pay off!!!!

Absolute amazing animal and story. TY for sharing. His reaction was priceless. Had this old guy tearing up remembering the younger days! Any clue as to what had him limping in the first place? Maybe he tripped over his own rack? =)
I jad an amazing hunt in Kansas 2017. I was on a piece of WIHA set up in this great pinch. Hunted it several time with decent wint and had encounters with 2 really nice mature bucks. Nov 10th I jad a perfect wind to go in there. Went in really early to set up as the walk was long and right a daybreak had another hunter come in on me. I waved him off and no sooner did he get over the hill a absolute giant skirted through the pinch. I was able to arrow that buck at 15 yards. 215" kansas giant!
Watching this 2 years later. But freaking awesome buck! And amazing shot! Just curious on what was special about the muzzleloader? One heck of an exit hole. That definitely is a dang good coustom build.
I loved the story and love how excited he got but I’d really Love to know what brand or style bullet that boy uses in that ol smoke pole! I dno how the deer didn’t drop after his insides were sucked out

Incredible story! And great reaction after the shot!! And what’s the details on the long range muzzleloader? I’m interested! I need one! I have the same problem but on a giant bull elk.
I have the Remington 700 ultimate muzzleloader. It takes 4 50 grain powder pellets. Good out to 300. I've taken 3 135+in bucks with it. Which are huge bucks for NW Ohio. Love the gun. Highly recommend
He said, "I've never had a deer wear me out like this deer. We've hunted him seven nights in a row." Really??? Seven whole nights wore you out? There are bucks in the suburbs that we hunt for several years trying to harvest a particular buck. Often day after day sitting in an uncomfortable and cold lock-on or climber. This guy hunts in a blind that looks like the Hilton penthouse and then cries as if he's invested 100 hunts over the last three seasons trying to harvest this deer. Holy cow man, have some dignity in front of everyone and at least wait until you're in the truck alone before you cry.
Jonathan Hayward, we just might have to start using that term over here state side! It's a hard feeling to explain but certainly is part of why we keep doing it! Thank you for watching and best of luck to you the next time you're in the field hunting.
