In this episode of Deer Season ‘23, we are in Iowa with our good friend Dustin Lynch and Mark Drury!
Dustin Lynch rolls into town with an Iowa bow tag in hand and couldn't have arrived at a better time. Hunting over cut corn during the late October cold front, Dustin was able to punch his covenant Iowa tag on a massive 10!
Up next, we follow Mark into the blind on a buck that has been on his radar all year! We have history with this buck last year when Mark was self-filming during late season. Laid down some awesome footage and knew if that deer could make it, he would be a giant next year. Well fast forward to '23, he shows back up in October! Mark and Wade Robinson head into the blind with one deer on their mind. After watching this buck come in and out of the field 3 or 4 times Mark was able to put an awesome shot on this giant 10!

Nice buck. I had a great time with the rut season in November 2023 I put down a 9 pointer 6 and a half years old. He came out and came 5 yards away and I put him down. It was one of my best rut seasons.
EHD has hurt here in middle Tennessee, 2 of our big shooters lost and others not showing up and presumed lost. All we can hope for is a good late season, doe sighting also down. Good bucks for all of you as always ya"ll have the best shows on anywhere!
NE Kansas. It was super slow at first a day or so of good movement early November. It turned on as of late. Like everything was 2 weeks behind. Congratulations on that beautiful buck!

Congratulations!!!…..NE Oklahoma first hot doe in my Foodplot evening of OCT 26th…..rut seemed to kick-off a bit early in my neighborhood. Tagged my target buck OCT 30th following the cold front and two days of wet weather.

Up here in NW MN it was a good rifle opener. Definite Buck Parade to start on Nov. 4. The rest is the 9 day rifle season was slow due to warmer than average temps.
Southern Delaware has been a challenge. Overloaded with egg corns. Trouble with neighbors shooting our target bucks two years in a row. Congratulations on your bucks
Trouble with neighbors shooting your target bucks ???? Do you ear tag the deer ? How do you know they are yours ? Deer.......they come and go. As the DNR states..........they belong " not " to you !
Southwest Missouri was slow in October. Really got going Nov 5-11. Weather turned hot and slowed way down the week of Nov 13. As of today, 11-20 the bucks are still seeking but mostly at night.
SE MN slow hunting for us.
North Dakota rut is still going strong bucks still chasing does. My target buck been on the move in a 2 mile radius, hopefully he survives rife season. Our deer heard took a hard hit last winter least half died.
TX hill country rut has been slowly starting. East TX is full blown rut.
October 28th weekend was the best weekend this year.
Most on the cold days that sneak in and out still mostly moving at night and haven't seen many road kills I drive for a living across Illinois

I witnessed some pre rut on September 16th 2023
It went bad my Mathew’s Creed got stolen couldn’t afford to buy another one so I missed it, maybe I can get one by next season
NJ has been really slow where I am. Been pretty warm. Get like 1-2 days of colder days then its back up near 60. Just got back from Illinois. Saw a lot of movement and probably one of the best sits I will ever have in my life. Unfortunately the mature bucks seemed not to be moving.

Theres deer all over !!!! Should open your eyes ! Besides.........thats what "hunting " is all about.......waiting ....... for deer to come by ! Not like shooting fish in a barrel !
I've been hunting Southern ia by Allerton, some public ground and season has been a grind. Not much movement and not much rut activity.
Slow in central Wisconsin all year
Early season was awesome like October but November rolled around and my farm just fell off starting to get better again

Mark, how do you guys get away with the noises and movement? Deer in my neck of the woods would have been long gone at the first squeak! BTW; one heck of a shot!

We have to bring up the audio of the whispering so that the viewer can hear what we are saying. With that being said it also brings up the noises in the blind, way louder than it actually was in person.
That huge buck has spent the last 5 1/2 years being fed and pampered to this size, and what’s up with the fancy camo and rubber boots in your mobile shooting house, I challenge anyone of these whitetail heroes to do this in central New Hampshire, they would be lost
Southwestern Kentucky was really great around Halloween. Then good again Nov 7-10. Other than that very slow, unusually warm and no big deer on camera or moving.
Oklahoma Hunter here, it may just be me but I feel the phases are around a week behind down South. The bucks I've seen over the past few years act as if we've only just hit Phase 6 instead of 8-9.
It's pretty slow for me on bucks our rut is fixing to kick in.We also have had higher Temps then mormal here in Louisiana for this time of year.

How can one hunt iowa in consecutive years as a NR? Didn't know there was a way. I have 6 points and cannot wait till next year. Congratulations on some great deer. Northern Missouri was very slow for myself, Nov 5 thru 11. Seen one giant and only a handful of does. Was a rough week indeed

Dude your draw back lbs is to heavy if you have that much problems pulling it back and releasing it back down . Plus having your camera man telling you where to shoot is not how a real hunter hunts
