Only thing needed to accompany pork is apple sauce! Such a great combination! By the way, that mower with a motor is a walk behind, we used to use an old manual mower, people powered only. Let Aiden know he's lucky to have a motorized mower.
For the crunchy part of anything fried, I use corn flake cereal and put it in a metal colander with a bowl underneath and just grind up the corn flakes for the crumbs. I don't recommend using the applesauce maker because the holes are way too small. That one's best for grinding up dried herbs before putting them in their spice jars. Thank you for your firepit tips. We have dug this 3' deep 15x25' pond but I noticed I did it way too close to our well and so we abandoned the project and Bro recently suggested we turn it into a deep smoker/BBQ pit. I'm thinking I could turn it into a dual use, but I'm pondering how one would clean the whole unit since it'll be in the ground. So now I'm thinking of plans to add a coal holding bin for the way bottom that can be lifted out using winch or crank or something so it doesn't just get nasty down there. Lots to think about, especially because we do DIY and are on a tight budget.
Be careful using CMUs (cinder blocks) around fire. The blocks are porous which means water will get in when it rains. If you light the fire and get it real hot, you could end up with the water trapped inside the block flashing into steam and cracking the block or worse. Water expands more than 1000x in size when it flashes into steam and if that happens in the block, it could also explode. It probably won't happen or the block might just crack here and there, but its something to be aware of. A cinder block exploding while you're sitting next to it is no bueno.
@@annmartinez3174 I would use actual bricks instead. The other option is line the interior with ceramic fire bricks. They're not expensive and you can still use CMUs on the outside.
