I feel so sorry for the daughter. Her mom is so focused on herself and has such a chip on her shoulder that I don’t think she will ever see the error in her thinking. She is so self righteous but has no one to blame but herself for being such a “right fighter”. She isn’t looking for resolution and that’s a shame.

Same. I had cancer cells on a biopsy. They removed it all and when they did, there was no cancer cells around the edges. It was not a big deal. I rarely mention it because i dont wanna give ppl the wrong idea. It wasnt even enough cancer to be staged.
Im also on long term chemo for autoimmune disease. I tell others so they take precautions to not expose me to germs, but i make it VERY clear its NOT for cancer and i dont stay as sick because its a lower dose. I get sick for about a week and then im ok for 5 more weeks til the next dose.

While waiting to go back to the doc for post op visits she received a phone call from the doc that misdiagnosed her telling her she never had it to begin with. Now and for the rest of her days she has to deal with lymphoma unnecessarily. She does not consider herself a cancer survivor because she never had it but a survivor of malpractice. She IS!! That's the whole point! And THAT'S sick! She thinks people will only be interested in her as a person, when she tells them her medical history. In reality, most people will be turned off by that kind of stories. She has also NO idea of what's appropiate or not; SHE might have gotten used to all those extreme terms and their graphic nature, but obviously gave it no thought, that she's on a well watched show, where some things should be a bit more discrete, or subtile. After all, it's NOT a medical show. Having a OTT religious methodist mother, probably didn't help either. The whole christian faith is based on suffering. Suffering alledgedly is "good" for you. It "cleanses". This is of course BS. The only thing suffering MIGHT accomplish, is more empathy for others that suffer. MIGHT. I don't think that is applicable here; she's only thinking of herself. On the whole, suffering makes people nasty, cranky, aggresive and resentfull.
But of course dr Phil will never, EVER talk about something like that. At least, not in all the episodes I've seen over the years. (I never really "foĺlowed" his career but had moments in time where I'd watch, for a couple of weeks. I have NEVER heard him say anything to critizise religion or the extreme effect it CAN have when it's becoming an obsession).

I do realize that the mom has some serious problems, but they are overlooking the sexual abuse that this woman went through. I was in an abusive marriage and sadly, it changes you. You constantly question yourself. You are desperate, to be loved and constantly misunderstood. It’s like you can’t say anything right anymore which makes you say things wrong eventually, It was confusing to me and I felt lost and alone. Things happen that you couldn’t tell your children and to this day they don’t know. As much as I kept telling this woman “stop talking”, I could understand why she was like that. She no longer feels that anyone has any compassion or love for her and she is begging for love. I didn’t become a hypochondriac, but it does affect you physically mentally and emotionally and I struggled with depression a lot . I wish Dr. Phil just once would have acknowledged the damage that the husband caused, and that possibly could have helped her. She is out there pretty much alone. I’m not saying she’s right or handling things right but she may be at a place where she just doesn’t know what to do. I have a hard time judging her because I don’t know what’s going on inside her mind, but I’ll guarantee there is a lot of confusion and a lot of pain.

The most important job, role, a woman can have is the title of being a mother. If she's unfortunately a single mom by the time her children are grown she probably is a little nuts, bc its a very stressful situation especially if she's raising children alone. Back when I was a young girl growing up in America mothers of the world were treated wt kindness & respect, but in 2024 its like America has forgotten how to love & respect their moms, this younger generation is off the chain. The way children talk to their moms, I would never spoke to my mother like they do simply bc she's my mother, right or wrong I was taught respect your elders, but we live in a society where anything goes, and America has become morally bankrupt and I firmly believe we need to get back to the basics of life. Seems like we have all forgotten how to love one another. I was happy to learn they're putting the 10 commandments back in the public school system bc kids need guidance and they long for structure in their lives. It should have never been taken out of school in the 1st place. All these outsider people come to usa and change the way we live, our beliefs and I just want to say we tried it your way it didn't work, so why not step back see where it all went wrong and undo it. In our modern day society, it doesn't compare to the America I once knew. I wish it could go back to the days when neighbors respected each other, also would like to say please stop using social media to express feelings of hate, keep love in your heart bc when you really stop & think about it, all we have is each other. I know I cannot make it on my own without the help of other people and I'd like to know that I also contribute to helping someone else. If we don't stop all this nasty hate between us we're not going to survive. It's that simple.

As a mother and a grandmother, you cannot come at little children with the intensity that you come forward with. You will just warp their sense of peace ☮️ . I know you can’t see that because you’re in it. Please watch yourself in these clips I know you don’t want to come at your grandchildren with the intensity of anger that you have, I know you’re hurting and this anger is coming from a place of hurt and defense. But your grand children are not your enemy, They are not guilty of any transgression . Your children are not your enemy. If you’re like me, you had quite a time getting through the teenage faze 😭 and I’m sure you have a lot of anger left over from it. Let me save you time money and angst, forgive your children, and speak of it no more , let it go like the bad penny 👹 it is. Move on , you’ve made it to the grandparent phase. You’ve won 🏆 & the prize is grand children. Your own intensity is your enemy. Use that intensity to start a walking or workout program for your extra energy. You will feel better inside and out. It would be a shame for your grandchildren not experience the special grandma love 💕 only you have & can gift 💝 to them. I can tell you would be a fabulous, fun grandma the kids would absolutely adore 🥰. Remember to stay soft grandma with the babies. Grand children are a gift, but they are fragile. Open gently 🌹

She won't go to therapy, she's the victim here. (Not true, but that the self victimization)

It is not so easy to be ”normal” when being broken by abuse

Stop making excuses for abusers. You don’t have to be normal. But if you pass abuse on & continue the cycle then you are a bad person. Period.

Oh please. She’s still sleeping with “her abuser”. She’s no more a victim than she is a cancer survivor. Only person abused was her daughter.

I am in my mid sixties and do not know a single woman who did not have any of these ailments. some 50% of all women have their gallbladder removed. a huge percentage of women complain about fibromyalgia, a condition that has no specific definition or diagnosis. pretty much any ailment this woman complains about, can be alleviated by changing eating habits.
puhhhh, just listening to her drains my energy. I know people like that and stay away from them, it's just too exhausting.

Towards the end, when the mum went quiet and said she felt like a victim, that was purely because dr phil took the piss when he said about getting another counsellor and she knew it. I actually felt sorry for her, then.

I find it really significant that all through talking about her illnesses etc, when it came to talking about her marriage, she was genuinely crying and rocking with distress. Thats at least should have been recognised.
