Bob James, thank you for a life time of inspiring and great music. Love your work !
The black hole cannot absorb his music and we continue to be memorised by his music… BJ for ever
Bob James is 82 here. Well, of course that’s astonishing given his youthful, soulful, spicy keyboard playing. 😊
I've admired your music M'r. James for my lifetime. I'm 62 years old ...Your youth, your joy, your passion comes across in these recent videos. To your bass player....omg, much love, much love much love...keep it up. I'm sorry I don't your name, however, I will . and lastly but not least, your drummer...you keep time like no other.....you're awesome!!! You, together, all of you, keep making great music!
Michael Palazzolo (Bass) and Billy Kilson (Drums).
These fellas are smooooth.👍
Almost 40 years ago my mom played this album for us. Growing up in Goa, India. Such great memories associated with these sounds. Thanks Bob.
Bob is the coolest 93 year old out there
22 years ago I wrote Bob a few emails asking about his equipment and instruments and the man responded personally and was very detailed. Great guy
Wow! I didnt realized email went that far back! ...
@@conned I was using email back in the late 1980's at IBM...it was called the PROFS (Professional Office System). So email has been around a long time in the business world...took longer to catch on for home use...
Teskio, what equipment did he mention to you that he used? What year was this?
@@tonylancer7367 it was around 1998/99. I was a teenager.
The main thing was the Rhodes Suitcase. That’s the sound I wanted and so as soon as he told me I set out and managed to find a used one.
His mainstays were the Yamaha Yc-30, the Arp Odyssey, Fender Rhodes, Oberheim synth and some electric pianos and clavinets.
@@teskio That's so cool! I think for me I always wonder what sounds he used, especially during his time in Fourplay during the 90s, that Yamaha piano and I think a DX underneath? Absolutely delicious, still wonder to this day. 😁
First time i hear your music. All I can say is : Thank you.
Proof positive that Old School is the best school!
Oh man, this is just awesome. This track illustrates perfectly why such a perfect thing as the classic piano-bass-drums jazz trio exists and continues to do so and will forever be so -- three immortal beings inhabiting and sharing the same musical universe together making perfect aesthetic sense and perfect music. And let's give a hand to the engineering. All of it...just wow!
This is the first time I've heard an upright acoustic bass sound so clearly. Thanks to the sound engineer.
Emmet Cohen also has great sound engineers - and he also works with great bass players :)
I love how Bob enjoys the bass solo so much he just stops playing!
I knew Bob James would be superb, but the bassist and drummer just flat out rock. Well done, gentlemen!
agree!
I've never been much into Jazz, but Jazz with Soul... Incredible... You are right, Bass and drummer ROCK!... Thanks Bob... 👍👍
Love drummer Billy Kilson he’s always fantastic!
3 instruments, the piano jazz trio create heaven with these gents. Bass player so good he must have started playing at 2 😂. Incredible timing, unique feel. Wow a million thanks 🥳🥳
They're all very good at what they do! Immaculate timing!
Bob James you're an absolute legend! I have always loved your music, but this is absolutely 💯 the best! Thank you for your contribution to the world of Jazz.
Bob always finds a great groove for his arrangements. He's in his 80's now ,still grooving. His smooth jazz style always classy and brilliant. Thank you Bob and great sidemen for bringing joy to this troubled world.💓
Your words bring it to the point. Greetings from Munich Andy

I love the facial expressions on the drummer and cello player make, they have great teamwork and let everyone in the group have their own time to stand out, wish everyone loved their job like these guys.
It’s a double bass :)
I've been listening to the smooth grooves of Bob James since the 70's. The guy just keeps getting better! He so consistent and innovative! I have some of his wonderful albums on vinyl! Like fine wine!
Just bought ONE on vinyl
Wow, Well Put!!!!! Brilliant Simply Brilliant
Looks like such a comforting place. I could take an easy chair in the room with a glass of bourbon and watch these three great musicians
That's one of the greatest live performances I've ever heard the bass player was laying down pure magic all three are unbelievable
Aye, the bass is fabulous, Note a note too hi or too low, all is right where it should be. Nice mixing for this media.
I respect you!!!
Your music as a teenager has been my lifelong compass.
Your music has led me to become a musician.
I am an unknown musician from a small city in South Korea, but thank you and thank you. You are my teacher forever. before and forever.

OMG, I've died and gone to heaven!!! This Bob James trio is the Bomb!! Thats why he's the best!! He always has the best musicians play with him!! Bob James ROCKS!!!!
Great to hear "Night Crawler" again, 44 years after that epic "Montreux Summit" gig.
Who else's 1.5yr old pulls this up randomly??? I'm so blessed. When I heard him playing this I thought it was an accident until he kept replaying the intro to feel like making love. He is right here nursing smh I have to remember he is a BABY.
Happy New Year ‘s Eve Mr. James & Band!
When you put Bob and Billy in the same room, magic happens!
I cherish all my vinyl records of Bob James his music always brings peace to my life. Thank you Mr James you and your talent is a blessing to this world.

Вот это подарок! Спасибо! С приветом из далёкого Санкт-Петербурга!
Had the privilege to interview Bob James once, he was super humble and articulate
the sound engineer is beyond words
I discovered a whole new musical realm when I stumbled across Bob James in the early '70s. His music helped launch my new age jazz show on our college radio station. Until then, the station was mostly classical. Thanks Bob for a lifetime of pleasure.
My wife and I locked on to ‘70’s music and went dancing almost every night of the week for years.
We always included this guy
Bob James and Joe Sample were two of my favorite keyboard players ever.
Michael Palazzolo on upright bass, stylish and easy on the eye!
How in the hill do you go from feel like making love to night crawler without missing a beat, only the great bob james can explain👆🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾
Excellent! Superb musicians!

The bass player is on another level
Nothing like the sound of a real Rhodes. So many memories.
Mesmerizing
You The Man!!!
Billy Kilson was amazing on Chris Botti and his varied guests years ago. Love Bob James ever since the 70s..... Jazz on my man, jazz on.
I thought I recognized him from Chris Botti concerts. He’s super.
These men are real gentlemen 😮
love you grandpa. Love u so much....
The Maestro
How many times can you say "wow", or "ohhh Yeah" in one song. This is so good.
This vid has 2.78 M views, I'm responsible for 1/4 of that, I love these series of videos. Sounds good Cranked UP!
Bob Jams! 🔥
Groovin’!
Heard live in Napa ,California. Six feet from Bob , Mike, Aundrey, and James. Absolutley awesome .
Awesome, awesome stuff
Nice, excellent beats
Watching this video on UA-cam helps someone like me with no ability to play an instrument of any kind, or read a sheet of music, much let alone write music, I can learn to APPRECIATE those that have the TALENT to do so and DO IT WELL.
This one heck of a song ...
This piece of music is, to say the least, heavenly. Every time they play it they outdo themselves, from the point of view of neurobiology (I don't want to bore you) the feeling it gives releases a series of chemical neurotransmitters in the brain that generate pleasure and that makes it addictive, thanks for giving us this gift
Absolutely agree! Love, Love, Love this groove!
Thank you for your wonderful description
True❤️🇯🇲
My dopamine levels agree with you LOL
get 100% and every time something fresh to focus on. All three top of their game.

Very good band
To speak of Mr. Bob James, without speaking of "genius", would be a crime. A dazzling artist whose harmonies are absolutely incredible!! Bravo, and a thousand thanks for this moment of feeling out of time 👍🎹🎶
Musically and respectfully,
Phil
Billy's snare sounds awesome here. This is an awesome piece of art.
I am literally in tears the drummer is on point bass player and bob is killing it
I remember buying Bob James' Heads from a music fair circa 1990 and fell in love with Night Crawler... I ended up getting quite a lot of his LPs from that era including the one with Angela on and a live LP. I distinctly remember him being interviewed with Joe Sample for Blues and Soul magazine around the same time and they were both talking about their love for modern keyboard sounds of the time and how they weren't so interested in Rhodes et al.. Glad Bob had a change of heart as he sounds great on it...
81 and still going strong! Thank you so much Bob James!!
No ego........just blissful expression.
I've been a Bob James for over 40 years, a genius along with the musicians he has chosen to play and record with past and present.
He is doing things with that keyboard i never thought possible superb
Now That's what I call smooth jazz
😂 I found myself clapping at the end of this....lol Amazing Groove!❤
Bob stay GOATed.
Much love from Sydney, Australia to Bob James, Roberta Flack and Marlena Shaw.
Love the little look at the camera midwaty there
Just utterly amazing! Thank you.
Real music with real musicians.
“Feel Like Making Love” was the very first Bob James tune that I’d ever heard(1974). Been a fan of his ever since.
My dad had the 'Heads' record. After counting and farm yard animal sounds stuff and themes from westerns, Night Crawler was among my first musical memories. I bought him 'Straight Up' in the mid-90s when I was 15 or 16 years old or so as a thank you.
Just passing Thur I tall glass of lemonade on a hot July night 🙏
Class.... :))) Thank u
Great Bob James with wonderful performance
This session is some of the best shit I've seen in a good time. They are enjoying themselves SO hard. Palazzolo has the BEST bass face I've EVER seen in Angela, and this ain't bad either.
