Could u please tell me how to reset the short circuit counter in frm module?, also is there any way to deactivate the counter on frm for angle eye rings? Mine is normal Halogen, i swaped with 30W led now its not turning on. All i am getting error code short circuit in LM module. Car is E60 LCI. (WITH SINGLE HALOGEN BULB, WHICH ILLUMINATEDS 2 RUNGS) also headlight is Not xenon type. Thanks
I doubt you check questions here anymore but how do you know what module to choose? Additionally, after choosing a particular module, how do you know that "bc" or "digital v" relate to the speedometer option you wish to change?
thanks for the video. I have few questions: this type of coding is actually to change options on the car, correct? WINKfp is used to write the new VIN on a module you replace, correct? for the lack of better terms, how do you pair a new module, let's say airbag module, to the car? I have 2012 Mini cooper s R55. thanks
Hey there, I‘m trying to code BC_Leerzeile and it‘s already done from „aktiv“ to „nicht_aktiv“, but still habe single text in my bordcomputer. Want to change to double line text. Read that it is not working because of long distance light (have bi-xenon in my e87).
This is actually the best coding video I've found so far. Thanks for the explanation. You make it look very simple. Quick question. A friend of mine has the OBDII cable and the interface for BMW. Do you know the exact way to code my car to enable the BMW Apps (6NR) from a E82 (135i)?
GanqueGaming It depends on the yr of your car first. It needs to have a Combox which came in later model yrs, not sure when BMW started installing them though. You'll have to write BMW Apps to your VO and then get a activation code from BMW. They're going to get their $ out of you one way or another unfortunately.
+Bill G Thanks, I have a 2013 BMW 135i coupe (e82) my car is already equipped with the Combox + iDrive with Navi Pro and all the hardware requirements. So how can I get the FSC Code? Is there a BMW Website where I can just simply go there, and pay for it? It does the dealer has to do this on-site?
+GanqueGaming You could try the dealer or maybe contact these guys and see if it may be cheaper. www.bimmerretrofit.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=78_79_81&product_id=67
stoyan manolov Do you have the optional switch in the glovebox? I'm not sure if it can be done through coding, it may need to be done by the dealership. It may also depend on what spec the car is (US or Euro)
stoyan manolov I just quickly googled deactivating passenger airbag E60 and there's a aftermarket kit or a optional factory switch in the glovebox to deactivate. But I can't find anything in any of my coding lists that shows how to disable the airbag via NCS Expert
I believe: BMW INPA K+DCAN INPA cable & BMW Tools -> NCS EXPERT & BMW Coding Tool

Hello, got a few questions. What exactly IS a daten file ? And is it possible to add the coolant temperature on the dash (the same way you added the digit speed) ?
I'd describe the daten as the data files that the programs use to perform their function, whether it's diagnostic, programming, or coding. As far as I know it's not possible, at least not easily as it's not a option made possible by BMW. I won't say it's impossible to do but it would entail a lot of custom programming and that's far beyond my scope of knowledge on that subject.
Great video and clear. Can I use this software to remove the Adaptive Headlight feature from my 2008 335XI sedan? I have an error code on mine and I'd rather do without the feature as I know it can be programmed out...If yes, is there a tutorial to install the software you used. Thanks and again well done video......
Uptown Wedding Photography NJ Thank you. Yes you can code out adaptive headlights with the software pkg. You can find the latest edition of this software with installation instructions inside the zip at bimmergeeks.net in their download section. Look for Standard Tools.
So if you wanna code the mirrors to fold with the Key fob upon locking, would you choose FRM instead of CAS since it's under the FRM? This video is great btw
A_Squared Choose CAS initially, then F6 to back out, then process ecu, then choose FRM or NFRM depending on what you have. You can always pick CAS first regardless of which ECU you're coding because you'll always have to pick the correct one from the drop down menu that lists them all.
Great video! For some reason, when I execute the coding - it succeeds, but I can't see the changes. When I read the module again - it gives the old values. What could be wrong?
Try closing out everything. Then go back in and process ECUs. Now go to your Work folder and open the FSW_PSW_TRC file. The changes you've made should show.
I have upgraded my climate from manual to automatic climate control on my e90 320d, everything works but blowing vents doesnt respond as i setup top, middle and bottom. If somone can help me, i would apreciate very much. Thanks
Hello! I need help :) I managed to install everything i need on W10 laptop got cable and it seems i'm ready (i'm downloading 2gb files for R56) what i want to do is to re enable AUX input on my R56 which disappears when battery went flat :( My question is in which module i need to look for AUX ? Thank you :)
RevMeTech Was it enabled by default before or did you need to code it on? If it was on with factory settings default coding will reset module to factory settings, turning it back on. If you had in coded on after the fact you'll need to go into the module and enable it yourself by coding it on.
That is the problem i don't know ... What i know is that it is R56 mini which means that every each of them have AUX from factory. I bought it from first owner (i imported car from another country) and when car came to me i needed to jump start it because it was winter. And at that point it didn't show aux in radio menu but in original mini manual for radio there are instructions for aux and so on ... Btw how do i do default coding ?
RevMeTech just Google expertmode coding with NCS Expert. It's very simple. If that doesn't work go into your RAD module, you can use the video as a guide, just substitute the RAD module for KOMBI and use the search function to find AUX. If it's nicht aktiv change to aktiv and finish.
If it has trace manipulation checked in the profile it will. The thing about profiles is that they're editable. You can load a profile, then go back to edit profile and change it however you want and name it whatever you want. Most of the profiles in any given BMW Tools download have been floating around for yrs. Attached is a screen shot of the two different profiles I have. Coding profile on the left, Expertmode on the right. Does that help? You can go into your profiles and see which one has manipulation checked and that would be the profile to use to make the coding stick. goo.gl/photos/nN2vncMYfmZvZK2TA
+Dovydas Milius It's in one of the BMW Coding forums I believe but here's a link to it. mega.nz/#!2d500QQb!yO3UI4KCJFc3e3ew2aBndrL2JC8sOFTtjjSYzbzywr0 It works perfectly on Win 7 64, that's what I'm using in the video.
If you're just referring to the BMW Coding tool, yes. I'm assuming that you already have BMW Standard Tools 2.12 (INPA,NCS Expert, Tool 32, WinKFP) installed.
+LMB335is I have got exactly this version. Inpa is in German and ncs is mostly in English. By the way, how good you are in programing? I want to program my instrument cluster and i need some help
I'm really not much on programming since I don't personally need to use it beyond maybe updating a module here or there. I would suggest checking out the coding section on E90post.com. There's some very knowlegdable guys on there that really know programming.
Thanks for sharing this video, Bill. It is very helpful. I have a E70 and I followed your steps except I selected the E70 chassis as I have the E70 daten files. When I execute job, it codes fine but when I restart the car, I'm not seeing the digital V. Also, I go back and read the ecu and the values for the digital v is back to not active. Do you know what I am doing wrong?
+Bill G Yes! Thank you for your help. I forgot to change the profile from expertmode to a writing one. After I did that, I was able to code the changes. Thank you again!
+Pedro rodrigues I use BMW Standard Tools 2.12 which includes NCS Expert, INPA, WinKFP, and Tool32. And I use the BMW Coding tool. In the video I use INPA to illustrate that I have a active connection to the car and I use NCS Expert and the BMW Coding tool to do the actual coding.
Martin Thomson Google that error. I believe it's a windows registry or missing file error and you can just download the fix. It's happened to me before.
I use Win 7 personally but it installs and works just as well on Win 10. Use bimmergeeks.net to get their download, follow the instructions once unzipped, and use compatibility mode when installing.
Thank you for your video! I just followed it step by step and removed an annoying fault that’s been on my 09 E93 for ages!!! Brilliant work 👌
Good video great instructions done the same and seat occupancy sensor all good now 👍
hey thanks for the clear and easy to follow video. By any chance do you know which module the airbag /communiction and the szl module is in ncs expert

you can use ncs dummy to tell you what they mean
Dumb question maybe, but can you code an E46 using BMW Coding Tool and NCSExpert?

+Salah Sharief Sorry man, forgot to get to your question. Yes, either use WinKFP to reprogram it or Tool 32 to rewrite VIN to module/

Look for RAD or something to that affect and search AUX. You should be able to default code it and return it to factory settings.
If i understood you well option should be available in module it just needs to be turned on?

I have an E90, but the chassis number only goes up to E89. Do I pick that ?
hammycool1 Yes. E89 daten covers all E9x models and 1 series
I do not have the profile you listed. I have NCS Dummy profile for Expert. Will that work the same?

+Bill G Yes, it is not there.
+omgboost You picked BC_DIGITAL_V to change? Try it again and save your MAN file and see if its been changed in the MAN file
+omgboost Also make sure you're using the writing profile not a expertmode profile
