You don’t need to use the Van Sarr only in this mini campaign. You can use any of the clan gangs (or any gang if the GM is ok with it) and replace their leader with a Spyre. Using the starting points given. So you can have a Goliath gang lead by a Spyre play against the Genestealers for the whole campaign. Also Spyres get two ready markers. Meaning they can activate twice. Each time getting two activations. So you can shoot twice with them in one battle round.
*Pinned your comment* Massive brain fart there: I’d read the additional activation markers and somehow came out with an additional action Ye 100% on the any gang being used, best bit about tabletops is “changing” stuff (if this is even is a departure)
Barefoot Minatures!!!! Glad I found your channel! You got some top notch vids. Alas, I wont be buying this. I cant afford to buy $10 worth of plastic, a book, and some paper. Maybe if it had more terrain. The price tag is just too much these days. But seriously, I already have enough unpainted models. I dont want another bunch of models sitting on my shelf adding to my PILE OF SHAME!!!!
Thanks for the kind words mats! Fair enough tbh: it’s a great set but only really adds scenarios/some new models Book of desolation campaign looks like from the community articles to be more open for all other gangs so if your group starts a campaign may be worth checking out!
They’re not from this sets book as there’s no cred values given, but they’ve been in the warcom article saying they’re in the campaign book coming later
I’d just say stick away from desintigrators game wise: honestly I fall under “sick on what you want, play it as whatever” I get WYSIWYG to a degree, but mostly would prefer coolest models
I don't understand the mechanics of this game system at all. The largest dark age mech suits on necromunda, the ones you have to be amputated to fit into are no tougher than a goliath juve, like are you going to be able to wound the smaller suits with a flashlight? What a disappointment, palatine enforcers of the 1%.
True not a tough. But it’s easier to upgrade than a Juve and is less likely to be killed and can’t take a serious injure. So can be brought down in a single game. But overall more survivable than a Goliath Juve in a campaign setting.
I suppose the rigs (though tougher than the other spyrer rigs) are hunting suits not warfighting armour, manoeuvrability and the ability to chase down prey being more important still than armour Goliath juves are literally vat grown to withstand working under intense conditions (like they’re comparative to armoured space marines in toughness) Just my conjecture though: the power level of various things always seems off comparative to descriptions. Like Primachs getting executed by plasmagun squads in other games
@@BearfootMiniatures The dark age tech angle is my hangup, we've got custodians using tractors as transports, logging equipment are mighty titans of war - you'd think a purpose built weapon designed solely to kill other living beings would be tougher than a chaos cultist wearing a t-shirt or lobotomized meat.
True it doesn’t having the ZM walls like the previous set, maybe could’ve included some data stacks, it’s a similar price in the UK (£105 for this, £110 for the hive war box)

Trying to catch up with this stuff - what is what. So just leaving a comment and Like to support.
Unboxing is cool mate, definitely worth going over it.
Never took you for an unboxer mate!

Looks fun
Is a cool set mate, I’ve enjoyed playing it through with the arbitrator role (taking off and putting on the gas to keep tension up)
Will malstrain be a usable gang outside of the campaign

I think an unboxing is worth showing properly.
Interesting! I’m not an “unboxer” myself but will do it in the future then
I know the bolters are probably the correct equipment... but both other guns just look way cooler 😅

@BearfootMiniatures Disintegration just seems like memish fun, though.... blam! And the nid is gone.

Price increase and very empty box for me.

Fastshot!! 3 shoots phew phew
Man hip shooting I think is going to be the most insane (assuming we’re talking spyrers?!)
