You will never experience an atmosphere like a Jam gig.Was lucky enough to see them a few times and despite being an avid music fan all my life seeing lots of bands every year, nothing comes close. Seen FTJ on their 1st ever gig, felt the buzz before hand but nothing like the real thing when it happened.
Spot on Evie... Raw energy and pure class oozed from their instruments and their vocals, this . was translated to the crowds... you can never get enough of the Jam. My first my last... my everything
PAUL GREAT WORK,,FKING LOVE IT GOOD TIMES HAD BY ALL,YOU CAN STILL NOCK THEM OUT...TALK SOON SEE YOU AT THE NEXT GIG......DES CREAN BELFAST IRELAND....
Bingley Hall was the turning point for Weller; he spent the whole day struggling with the auditorium sound quality. I saw every Jam concert live and this was somehow the worst and the first with a new crowd
It’s interesting that Weller kinda yells some of the words in when you’re young, it shows he’s genuinely angry about what he’s singing. It gives the performance a great authenticity
Andy D late reply but here goes; Paul is giving 'the look'to the monitor mix man off to Bruces left. The Jam were plagued by feedback throughout their live performances mainly caused by Pauls insanely loud onstage guitar sound. In fact bands these days have the Jam and Iron Maiden to thank for their powered P.A. speakers! They are derived from the 1st ever 500 watt powered monitors which were developed in 1982 and 1st used by Jam and Maiden. Weller is using 3 of them here
The Jam r my 2nd favourite band. 2nd only 2the Human League. I think that Paul Weller should get a knighthood and should do a duet with the 1of the Human League girls and most probably with Susan Sulley. Even though Joanne Catherall is my favourite Human League member. I wuder if Paul weller plays chess in any spare time that he may get to himself. I play chess in the Portsmouth League, 4 Hamble in the Southampton League and sometimes even 4hampshire. I'm also a self taught sound affect impressionist aswel.2 4 I copy the sounds of drum kits, Cosham and Bedhampton level crossing and even 2 class 205s diseal locomotives trains passing each other at speed or dark 1 departing from a station. Paul Weller is pure class next to the Human League that is. from Paul Eyles from Portsmouth
paul are you bieng fuckin serious???? dont mention the human leauge in the same sentence as these boys!!! fire and skill! greatest band ever and weller is god!!!!!
And not a phone in sight, happy days
Still the best band ever..no comparison..god bless the holy trinity..Paul, Bruce and Rick..THE JAM!👍👍👍

Exactly that's what I tell everyone that I can about how good they were live. The best band in the fucking world ever!!!!
When you're young my funeral song as I go up in flames long live The Jam....
THE GREATEST. EVER.
Just how outstanding are the lyrics to Butterfly Collector. Out of this world. 🛵😎
I was there...great memories😍
Still great to this day of 09/17/2024
After all these years..still unbelievable, best band ever...so glad to have seen them many times
One of the uks best bands, defined a generation
I’d looks could kill, a sound technician would have been dead as soon as Butterfly Collector started! 😂
When You're Young is still a great track !!
The Jam were a three member band ,Weller may have been the driving force but Foxton and Buckler contributed listen to the drums on Funeral Pyre
Nothing better ever
Seen them in Boston, MA USA at The Channel Night Club. 1982 i think. Tiny little fellers. Rocked it, though. Opened up with Running on the Spot.
Excellent
Watched this loads of times as I didn’t see The Jam live...love it 😄
One of my favourites, amen for music like this
PAUL GREAT WORK,,FKING LOVE IT GOOD TIMES HAD BY ALL,YOU CAN STILL NOCK THEM OUT...TALK SOON SEE YOU AT THE NEXT GIG......DES CREAN BELFAST IRELAND....

Queens Hall, Leeds - awesome venue for them. Always loved it there
The soundcheck is so echo-y!
I was at bingley, I’m here now because of it 37yrs later.
theaceface - your uploads are fantastic (making you my latest youtube subscription!) Cheers man :)

Sunday 21st March 1982
The jam I followed for years iim 62 still remember me like yesterday they were somewhat more amateur than that of the police
@daviesmod Cheers, I've found it and its now on order. Thanks again :)
Can't believe Paul went to Sports Direct ffs
Lonsdale Sportwear shop. Round the corner from Carnaby St. 1979. Quite expensive!
Real quality stands test of time.
Don't piss Paul Weller off; he might just write a song about you.
Encore!
Great post mate
That is exactly why..
hawks can see , dogs can smell, weller hears sounds better than most
extra)
@BEDBURN I think he's giving him a look because of the feedback squeal.

Steam coming off the audience.
What other songs have similar lyrics about women?
Foxton looks small compared to his bass lol
@daviesmod Where did you get the full gig on DVD from? I've got a copy of THAT video, brilliant as it is, I'd still love to watch the full gig.
