    Is there a way to display two programmed scenes together at the same time? IE I have light 1 on red, on scene 1 and light 2 on green for scene 2...can I have these on at the same time without alternating?

    Can you attached two or more motorized fixtures on same channel so they move on same time and same directions?

      yagballs your fine. The controller just sends out signals and doesn't care what the lights are actually doing. There's no way you can hurt the controller

    I am trying to just make my light pan back and forth slowly. Want to use it to show off some highly reflective color changing paints that I used on my products I am selling. Is this possible?

    • @DJGhez
      @DJGhez  5 років тому

      I'm guessing you mean automatically. Step 1 - Just make scene 1 with the lights on one side, scene 2 on the other side. Step 2 - make these a chases to go back and forth between these 2 scenes. Step 3 - Run the chase, set the timer and add fade.

    • @DJGhez

      Move the "FADE" slider up a bit so it's not on zero and press blackout; or make a scene with everything off then hit this scene with fade added.

    Hey,
    How do I control the moving head to pan between 0 to 180 degree with DMX. If I put the lights on auto mode the lights goes into dead zone and doesn't focus on the dance floor. I want the light to tilt and pan always between fixed angles. Thanks!

    • @DJGhez
      @DJGhez  6 років тому

      Are you saying you want the light to be on auto mode but control just the pan with DMX? Unfortunately you can't do this since auto mode on the light will deactivate any DMX control. The best thing would be to make scenes on your DMX controller, have the controller automatic go through the scenes (sound active of timer), then take control of just the pan channel so the light will still go through all the scenes except for pan.

    Hey I wanna know how u control parcans and moving head in synchronization with the help of dmx chauvet....and umm i dont think all lights got dipswitch eg LED parcans they don't have , so wat do u do if u wanna do a stage lighting combination of parcans and moving head , 2nd wats the purpose of 1BANKS
    2 just right on the left side on the dip switch there are two letters A&B wats the purpose ....

    • @DJGhez
      @DJGhez  7 років тому

      Hello Michael. When I get a chance, I will make you a video but for now here are my responses to your questions. First off your parcans should just use an outlet to turn on or off. To DMX control these, you'll need a dimmer pack (Chauvet DMX-4). This is a device that uses DMX signal to tell it how much power to send to individual outlets. This DMX signal will come from your controller. Let's say you have 12 parcans (3 red, 3 green, 3 blue and 3 white). you can plug each color into 1 outlet of the dimmer pack. that would mean each of the 4 channels would be a color. For example, channel 1 would be the 3 red parcans, channel 2 the 3 green etc.etc. Let's say you also have a moving head that uses 4 channels and your DMX controller allows you to control 8 channels at the same time. Using dipswitches or a led display, set your dimmer pack to channel 1 so it uses channels 1 - 4 and then the moving head to channel 5 so it uses channels 5 - 8. If your controller have less channels, that can be used at the same time, than the number needed for your system then you will need an addition controller or use scenes. The purpose of banks is a place to store a set of scenes. Rather than having hundreds of scenes, your have a bank that will hold 8 scenes. So scenes 1 - 8 are in bank 1, scenes 9 - 16 are in bank 2 etc. Dipswitches are made by thousands of companies and some us A and B rather than On and Off. Others use A and B to represent the mold cavity when being produced or orientation so they know which switch is switch #1. Sorry this was lengthy but please respond if you are still confused. A list of your setup could be helpful as well in understanding the question.

      DJ Ghez I just watched multiple vids dmx controller but I think I got a thing or two however that dimmer pack u talking about i tried searching it and i havent used it since i have been in this game ,ok so let me give u a picture of what i normally seeing being used and thats how i teach myself , so for example 8 LEDD parcans , 4 230w beam moving head , obey chauvet 40 dmx controller and a splitter , so lights are set right passed into the splitter to the dmx chauvet , so lets say for instance its a stage function , moving heads placed as the 4th place and the other being the last right all the rest being parcans , so umm i have to program the led to be illuminating same light at a go right ...which i think i can pull that off through help of fixtures setting scene and saving it up as a chase, so the deal is getting the the two moving heads working together in synchronization like when they highlight a performer on a stage ....like that I don't know ...the banks I got it know ..thanks mate

    Hey man, I am pretty new to DMX and I have the same board that you are using here, but I have a question. I have 4 long par 64 led lights and 8 slim par 64 led lights, I have them addressed 1- 16, 17- 33 etc. I was wondering if there was any way I can control just the color of one light at a time. Like have half the lights do one color and the other half do the other while the the first fixture do a different color. The only thing I can do is control all of the same colors of the lights at the same time.

    • @DJGhez
      @DJGhez  5 років тому

      Hello Tyler. You have prob 2 options. You can either set up scenes or, if you can change the lights to use only 4 channels, then make channels 1 - 4 half the lights and 5 - 8 for the other half.

    • @tykurtz7077
      @tykurtz7077 5 років тому

      DJ Ghez thank you trying to figure that out but I also have another problem after programming scenes and going out of program mode (after I black out) they work until I mess with the switches to manually change color. After I that the scenes stop working when I push the buttons. Until I go back into program mode then they work again. Any ideas?

    • @DJGhez
      @DJGhez  5 років тому

      @@tykurtz7077 once you move the sliders, you will overwrite the scene for those channels and fixtures. I was thinking you just stay in the scenes and don't do any manual operations

    ok, I'm kinda new to DMX but I know a little and I'm really confused as to why your 3rd light fixture is addressed at 85 instead of 33, then why is it assigned as fixture 6 instead of fixture 3, then its a 4 channel fixture why did it start at slider 5 instead of slider 1. is this just preference or do you have to address it that way. I use 1,17,33,49,65,81,97....... 85 is really confusing.... please explain this to me. thank you, love the video as well.

    • @DJGhez
      @DJGhez  6 років тому

      Hello Buddy,
      I think your overthinking it. There are no rules to DMX as to where lights must start and at which fixture. Fixture and page ( Channel Bank A & B) buttons are only to help fit enough sliders on a 19 inch rack. For example, my controller can do up to 192 channels. If I had 192 channels on my controller, it would be way to big. To break it down, there's 12 fixture buttons which would mean you need 16 sliders for each "fixture button" (12 Fixtures X 16 Sliders = 192 Channels). 16 sliders would still be a lot so there a page button "Channel Bank A & B" which breaks each fixture in half (12 Fixtures X 2 Pages X 8 Sliders = 192 Channels). On my controller Channels 1 - 8 are Fixture 1 Channel Bank A, to get to 9 - 16 is Fixture 1 Channel Bank B, 17 - 24 is Fixture 2 Channel Bank A etc.etc. So to answer your question your are correct and it is a preference. Both lights 2 & 3 are 4 channel lights and since I have 8 sliders, I can control these independently at the same time. Sliders 1 - 4 are Light 2 and Sliders 5 - 8 are Light 3. Channel 85 would put the first channel of the light at the 5th Slider of Fixture 6 so I can use sliders 5 - 8 to control it. Let me know if I answered your questions.

      Thanks, that answers my question. Is it possible to use the DMX operator like two different DMX controllers at the same time? Example, say I have a truss setup and it has a couple of lasers and Slim par 64 RBG and a few other things and the operator is controlling that, but I also want the operator to control 10 uplights? independent of the lights on the truss. Where I can run a light show as normal with the truss setup and then (if possible) goto a different channel or bank and control my uplights and change the colors while also running chases for the truss setup. I want a DMX operator and an Obey 40 smashed into one unit. What say you? Thank you for the instructions.

    • @DJGhez
      @DJGhez  6 років тому

      Buddy Briggs I would use scenes for all your lights except the uplights. Run the scenes and then manually control the uplights. If you watch my video "HOW TO: Use DMX controller with lights" you'll see me going through scenes either manually by pressing scene buttons or automatically on a timer and then taking control of individually lights (Fixtures) and using the sliders to operate them.

    Can you add one chase on another chase? And if I put one light start channel 1 another channel 2. Both RGB. And I raise the channel 2, will the first light get green and second blue?

    • @DJGhez
      @DJGhez  7 років тому +1

      Unfortunately you can't add a chase to a chase but you can add a chase that includes all of the scenes from the other chases. For your second question, lets say both your lights are the same and channel 1 is red, 2 is green and 3 is blue. If the one starts on channel 1 and the other channel 2, then when you move the slider for channel 2 the first light will turn green and the second would turn red.
