Bowman gets better every race. It seems like he actually shows that he puts a bit more effort and passion into what he does compared to most drivers. Never "seems like just another race" towards him. He busts his ass every week.
@@Tow_Sr. I like Bowman, but the truck race crash was most certainly his fault. He definitely has a lot of skill, but he has also been one of the luckiest drivers I’ve seen recently. But that shouldn’t take anything away from what he has achieved.
Same here I've loved both F1 races this year. And just think the next F1 race will be in Australia it'll be taking place at 1:00 am after the Martinsville cup race. All nighter lol
AJ hit Ross first when a driver does that 9 times out of 10 expect payback. I Really enjoyed this race for it being the first road course race with this new car. And congratulations to Ross he finally got him one. I can't wait to see these cars in person at Darlington mother's Day weekend.
Yeah but see the difference is almendinger did not wreck him, he hit him just enough to get him out of the way which I guess if he would have wrecked him and he would not have to have worried about him retaliating, I just feel like Ross once he was at AJ's back bumper just kept on driving through him instead of even giving him a chance to save it like he should have
@@diychad7268 Bowman nailed Almindinger in the rear after Ross had bumped him. Bowman spun the 16 out. Not the 1. I don't think the 16 would have spun out if not for the 48.
Fox definitely fumbled the bag on their coverage today. Watching at home, the race felt like a complete snooze-fest despite so much happening. But man that finish was incredible. Congrats to Chastain. 🔥
It's the announcers. They sound like they are doing the post race show instead of commentating the race. They just get side tracked too often and it's almost like you have to choose between paying attention to the announcers or paying attention to the race. In contrast, with Indycar and F1 the announcers help keep you engaged in the race.
I fell asleep during the race 😆 and they only showed one clip in victory lane in the quick post race show. Victory lane has always been a tradition. They had to rush off to put flatch on 🙄
I’m so happy to see Ross Chastain get his 1st win in the Cup Series! I also like that victory celebration he did by smashing the watermelon on the ground every time he wins a race! Overall, this COTA race has been pretty great and is an awesome start for the road course races with the Next Gen car! I do feel bad for Allmendinger when he got taken out at the final lap.
The thing I like about Hockey and NASCAR over other sports is the beating, the banging, the crashes, the bump-and-runs, the body checks, the sound of someone getting plastered into the boards, (this is more so as a viewer, not as a player) the fights. The physicality, the contact. This finish was awesome!
Denny , why is no one talking about Bowman Taking the Lead on the last lap? And he would of won ! If Ross didn't go full send into AJ !!!!!???? , and I totally disagree with backing into a win. , TBH I think his crew chief kept him from leading 20 or 30 laps today , by not pitting before Stage 1 finished ? He had the best car today imho. What are your thoughts ?
Another interesting piece of info not many think of this is the third team Ross has gotten the teams first win for. Niece Motorsports in trucks, Kaulig in xfinity and now Trackhouse in cup
The ending was absolutely amazing and dare I say as iconic as the Kyle and Kyle slidejob finish. Also it was absolutely fair game between Chastain and AJ, it reminded me of classic early-mid 2000s NASCAR where the driver really get their elbows out and move each other just like how Bowyer eluded to with Hamlin vs Stewart at Sonoma.
Yeah but the thing is AJ moved Ross, Ross wrecked AJ, as a racer I'm not sure I agree with it but Ross just better know that he definitely has one coming back to him if it comes down to whether or not a win will happen, and with AJ running I think all the road courses this year there's a good chance of it, remember he did win the Indy cup race last year
We're Watkins Glen when Brad keselowski and Marcus Ambrose went at it. All's fair in Love and war and the last lap of a NASCAR race at a road course or short track.
@@diychad7268 you’re 100% correct. Almendinger put the bumper to Chastain to move him. Chastain pushed on Almendingers bumper until he spun him out. Two different tales. I’m ok with it but I bet Chastain and Track House whine if it happens to them.
just a note on the broadcast, even though it wasnt perfect obviously tony stewart is a really good addition if he was around more fox would be better overall
I don't think local cautions will work, or have fixed issues today like you mentioned, BUT, throwing a red near the end for the rock cleanup would have been quicker and not killed laps, win-win.
The amount of time made up in those last few corners was insane to me. Usually you have to see a big slip but aj just started sending it but in a manner that was just impressive and methotical, they are already pushing the limits so to be able to dig for that little extra without locking them up or just whiffing the last lap is really impressive. Then again you got guys that are the best at stock car racing so come on.
Lol Bowman goes from worst HMS road course driver to best this weekend and we still say he almost lucked into a win. He showed A TON of improvement! Loved how he kept pace on those final laps and drove up to a near win.
Something you’re missing when you discussed the new cars, was the success we’re seeing at Trackhouse, RCR, SHR, and so on right now isn’t despite the teams and assemblers, it’s because of them. It’s an even playing field, we’re seeing the drivers and teams shine right now. I absolutely love it.
@@OGSharpshooter317 I don’t believe RCR ‘ developed ‘ the NextGen car. But Nascar was on RCR ‘ campus ‘ . Remember., at one point and time RCR did run in the truck division in Xfinity and Cup. With DEI & RCR merging engine shops. I believe Childress has enough land that they should have been in separate buildings., I do believe Nascar also tried not to give any owner an unfair advantage.
Tony and Clint in the booth is pretty great. I'm realizing depending on tracks camera shots get better or worse. To prove your point, I'd rather watch you for Nascar news than Race Hub, but I think Fox's in race coverage is pretty decent most of the time. Trust me, I'd like to hear Dale Jr talk all day but I prefer Fox over NBC
Give it to the Watermelon Man ! As much as I like AJ, he drew first blood. Some folks forgot about the Old School like "The Intimidator" "Pops Turner" and Buck Baker. I reckon it's turning into a Hard Seltzer world !
Can’t expect anything less from a salty Hamlin fan trashing bowman every time he either wins or comes close hey all I can say is atleast bowman is putting himself in position to win races where was Hamlin today bud 🤷🏻♂️ better yet where has Hamlin been all season??
It's really quite something when you watch the Formula 1 broadcast where the commentators are so energetic and enthusiastic about the event and really caring about what's going on in the race and not acting like it's a job while also not having a single commercial break is just insane, literally 60+ million people tune in to watch f1 around the world, normally early in the morning for viewers in the US and generally not great times for those who aren't European. Then you look at NASCAR who is racing at an F1 track just have some of the most boring commercial filled broadcasting you've ever seen, not even mentioning the joke of a pre race show we have, and it's just simply not good, NASCAR could have at least a few million more viewer's if the broadcasts were consistently good, but having stupid pre race shows that are seemingly aimed towards children then literally showing a bunch of random kids on the broadcast for no reason isn't a good way to keep people watching.
On the Fox subject. They made some really weird choices. they went to a full screen commercial break while the action was going on, then went to a side by side after a caution came out. It was not a good call on their part.
I don't get the complaints on the commentary at all. There's been a lot of issues with bad cuts and cams but the commentary was PERFECT. Mike Joy is still the best caster of the modern era, and Bowyer+Stewert are both a perfect mix of knowledgeable and enjoyable. And they don't hesitate to speak up when they have an issue or disagreement with something.
Road Courses, small ovals like bristol, dirt tracks and superspeedways are the wave of the future for nascar they just need a street course to sweeten the deal.
I would consider the Fox broadcast this year as being somewhat emblematic of what nascar media has been for the past decade or more. Simply lacking in all categories especially compared to other sports. Nascar media has failed fans for a really long time and that’s what allows Eric to be so successful at this. Nascar fans are yearning for valid, educated, and genuine discussions about the sport and that’s something the establishment media for nascar hasn’t been able to offer. Keep up the good work Eric!!! You’re literally outdoing Fox this year 👍
ESPN broadcasts in the 90's with Bob Jenkins, Benny Parsons and Ned Jarrett were perfect, Dr Jerry Punch doing tech segments perfectly explaining everything without dumbing it down, some say NBC broadcasts are more professional than FOX and I disagree, they dumb everything down and make the viewer feel they are having their hand held all race. We need broadcasts more like the F1 broadcasts that are well produced and DO NOT insult the viewer, and doesn't turn everything into a joke.
Best finish I’ve personally sat and watched. Me and my grandpa were excited and on the edge of our seats that entire last green white checkered. Amazing to Ross Chastain win, I believe he has made a new fan outta this weekend. Go Melon Man!
Local yellows in NASA and SCCA road racing allow for safety vehicles and personnel to be on the track attending to minor incidents while racing continues. In those instances its the drivers responsibility to be safe between the corner stations that have yellows displayed (no racing basically, but still maintaining basically race pace). There are certainly areas this would not work but for the most part it absolutely does. Same goes for natural debris on the track (dirt/rocks), theres a specific flag flown for that at the specific corner station leading to the debris warning drivers of the adverse condition. This can be utilized as well. That all being said, I don't see the necessity in NASCAR. Those local yellows would have surely changed how the race ended, and then you would not have seen a come back from Jones and other drivers that had trouble.
Tony Stewart had the best comment about this and said "I certainly went to bed easy, after my win!" lol x^D. But, I mean AJ did gave him the bumper first, maybe not as hard as Ross did, but that's just good ole racing. Because I mean, when you got a win right there, a possibility to be the first to place a trophy in not only your own cabinet of Cup trophy's but back at the shop as well? No one is going to have sympathy and let him by for that, so taking the opportunity while it's there, I say is fair within the square! Sure some people will not be happy, but I mean they used to do a lot of this back in the 70's and 80's and even since Racing has ever been a thing, this is not new at all lol!
Erik Jones "not known for being a great road racer" ... that should change. He has a bunch of top 10's on them, and multiple in that underfunded 43. Elite talents will be elite, and even non-road-racing background guys like Jones, Reddick, Briscoe, Bell etc are so talented at driving that they'll immediately be good road racers in their mid 20's even if it isn't there background
I'm honestly happy with how this year has turned out so far, 6 doffent winners, 6 different tracks, and every race has been above average or better this year, this is the best NASCAR season so far!!
Fun fact: counting exhibition races we've had 19 total races amongst the top 3 series. Of those 3 series we've had 17 different winners. No repeats so far in Cup including Logano winning the Clash and Brad K. and Buecher winning the two Duel races. In Xfinity the only repeat winner was Ty Gibbs, and in the Truck series Zane Smith is the only repeat winner. So there's been a high level of parity this year.
I dont know why NASCAR doesnt use IMSA to help them manage the road courses. Especially since NASCAR races at the SAME TEcks IMSA races at with the exception of Indy RC. they can help with tech regs and race stewardship.
I definitely agree, it's been really nice having the young drivers get the spotlight I don't think your giving bowman nearly enough credit, just because he didn't lead all race doesn't mean he would have backed into another win, he always focuses on strategy and being there at the end and waiting to make his move He doesn't deserve this disrespect and hate he's gotten recently
I think what they do with cautions in Trans Am could work in Nascar. If you remember the Trans Am race @ Road America last year the last 2 laps of the race were run with a local caution despite safety vehicles in Turn 14 cleaning up a wreck. Some of the cautions at COTA, like the gravel across the track, would've still required a safety car period. But a local caution could've been used for things like Bubba Wallace who was on the runoff area even though they needed a tow truck. I do like Dale Jr's suggestion of removing caution periods at the end of the stages. I think you could utilize multiple restart points around the track where restarts could take place once the issue is resolved.
I dont mind using the bumper to move someome... thats racing. But when you completely dump a driver intentionally. That crosses that line. Not only did he dump AJ but Bowman got taken out a collateral damage.
Loved it and your eval is perfect. Caution laps are a big problem. This road course was so long that the laps took forever. #1 change the caution laps so they do not count toward the laps needed for the win. #2 the Nextgen car is showing us how last year's veteran teams were cheating the chassis rules. Now that we have a "hands off the chassis" the newer drivers and teams are on an equal footing to compete with the old guard. #3 Pass-thru penalties for pit stops & speed violations are overly harsh for these large race tracks because they lose a lap. I think they should automatically go to the back of the line for the restart & during the race if there is no caution. Give the driver 2 laps to safely carry out the penalty or deduct a lap from their score.
In the vein of the King of Sparta, you have to remember This Is NASCAR! Almindinger moved Chastain and thus he was moved. You his the nail on the heat, if you bump and run you better have a good run but he lost too much momentum in the bump. If Almindinger had collected his car he would have lost his position to Chastain but they both would have been beat by Bowman. Unlikely Chastain anticipated the twofer but, hey, he'd take it. I'm still amazed at how tough the New Gen car is proving to be.
Bowman didn't almost back into a win. He was running top 5 basically all day and the top 2 both didn't almost wreck each other or a mechanical failure or no late pit stop strategy or whatever. Only Aj would've spun out if Bowman wasn't there. That was a clean power move by Bowman. I don't know how u can back into a win running top 5 all day and about to pass the 2 fastest cars cleanly on the last lap. Time to show him some respect!
People thought I was crazy when I said this at the beginning of the year, but if Bowman can have better luck, consistency this year, and if he can rack up wins like he did last year, he would be my darkhorse pick to win the championship this year.
No controversy at the end of the race. All three going for the win in OT. Amazing and exciting finish to the race. You hate it for the 2nd place car but WHAT A FINISH! Great job by AJ and Ross throughout the race. For me, wonderful and exciting end to the race. I was good with either of them winning. Hard to bite your tongue after that finish but AJ was a class act.
Overall, COTA did not disappoint. I thought it started out kind of slow, and somewhat boring at first, but after stage 1, the tone of the race changed, and I couldn't take my eyes off the TV. It was a good race overall. The finish was exciting. I'm curious to see how the other road course events play out now.
A few thoughts: Chastain was definitely justified with the bump-and-run. Tradin' paint is what made NASCAR the most popular racing series in the U.S. No other major racing series can put on a show like we saw yesterday. Teams recovering from major problems to score top 10 finishes, and fender banging finishes just don't happen in F1 or Indy Car. The over 40 drivers, plus Kyle Busch, seem to be resigned to the fact the under 30 guys have taken over for good. They don't even talk about winning races anymore. No swagger or enthusiasm, just a lot of complaining. There is no such thing as "backing into a win" in the Cup Series. A 3+ hour race between 38 cars doesn't just fall in anybody's lap. You have to earn the opportunity to take advantage of a situation. That whole mentality needs to end.
Im getting early magical DEI vibes with Trackhouse. Ty Norris knows how to build an organization. Im glad Justin Marks and Pitbull are letting him do his thing.
I think he has some great tracks coming up too. Richmond and Martinsville, tracks you have to muscle the car around. I think he'll keep the strong run going, they've certainly figured something out. It's good to see.
Eric, you analyzed this race on point and a fair score on the groove gauge! This was classic old school nascar road racing to me. And I'm glad the car that led the most laps won the race! I salute you Ross Chastain aka the Melon man! Nascar has gotten what they wanted with the gen 7 car. This car has put the racing back into the driver's hands. It's now 75% driver, 20% car setup and 5% pitting car! Now that the playing field has been leveled, we are seeing more unfamiliar drivers and teams racing up front and finishing in the top 10 and top 5! Win, win for nascar and the fans. Diversity, not dominance is what this sport needs.
That was extremely fair racing, AJ bumped Ross and Ross responded and got it done. “All is fair in love and war.” That’s exactly what it was! Congratulations to Ross and Trackhouse Racing!
That Sounds like what Humpy Wheeler would put on For at Charlotte Motor Speedway Every Year for it pre race with Bus Jumps to War Scene and Stunt Jumps
The Dinger got what he gave. He tried to sugarcoat his interview, but I saw right through it. Bowman was an unfortunate innocent victim through all of it.
i know there’s time zones but it’s 1 in the mornin. It was cool to see Ross take it home tho. This Sunday I went from Formula 1 to NASCAR to World Cup qualifying. Good way to end off the break
Friendly reminder that we only have 10 spots left for wins Hamlin Harvick Ky Busch Ku Busch Truex Elliot Blaney Logano Bell Almirola Reddick Suarez We've got several more road courses, 3 superspeedways, Bristol Dirt. At this rate we will run out of spaces for points...and I can hardly wait
If we get more then 16 different winners (not counting non Cup drivers or out of the top 30 if they win) then right now, Larson might not be able to defend his championship. Consider that a possibility given his start of the season so far.
@@stephenholloway6893 we’re only six races in. If any driver at Hendrick doesn’t have to be worried about more than 16 winners, it’s not Larson. Hell, if there’s one team that probably doesn’t have to worry about that, it’s Hendrick. The way the first six races have gone, Penske and Gibbs need to worry a hell of a lot more than Hendrick.
With Trackhouse showing the type of speed they've shown this year, if he can just have better luck go his way, I think Suarez will be the next driver to get their first win. Either him or Tyler Reddick who has had some good runs, and I think is overdue for his first win. I think Erik Jones could sneak a win for Petty-GMS as well. It seems like Chevy is the make to beat, but we'll see how long they can keep this up.
@@billsbetterthanurteam8488 The results still speaks for themselves. Yes some dnfs wasn't his doings and probably had a top 10 or 5 finish but, still at the end of the day don't you think at least there should be some concerns if this continues?
I was there this whole weekend. Was awesome to be back at COTA since F1 2014. I was trying to see if I could find you there Eric but never ran across you. Epic race weekend
I like AJ, but he knocked Ross out of the way 1st on that lat lap. They were racing the same way Stewart, Earnhardt, Busch, and dozens of others have always done.
I would like to say Eric, that your overall N.A.S.C.A.R. knowledge and your personality continue to impress me. I dare say Fox or NBC should make some room in their broadcasts for you. Yes, you're THAT GOOD.
Clicked on this in a heartbeat! It’s fair game in my book! Last lap, anything goes! Glad you had a blast + you were correct in the intro! NASCAR on Fox was a season too early on their “Best Season Ever” tagline! You definitely were Melon Man’s good luck charm as he’s grown on me since he arrived at Trackhouse and began running well! Looking forward to Richmond next Sunday for the Pontiac Excitement 400!
Great race! Exciting finish! Congrats to Chastain! Another stellar Out of the Groove! I hear some people saying that A.J. should pay Ross back, but I think the watermelons should get first dibs on revenge! 🍉🍉🍉
Hi. Eric and everyone. Congrats Ross Chastain. This weekend the last in Match in 2002 at Bristol a young aggressive driver muscles a veteran, after the veteran did a little bump and run driver, and goes to win his first cup race (out of future dozens of wins). Anyone care to make a guess the name of the driver. A hint he was to go on to chase and win a cup championship. It was only minutes after Chastain's win, which I realized the date of my favorite driver's first win and the parallel between the 2 wins.
When the hell is Joe Gibbs and Toyota gonna get their stuff together? They are struggling this year. Praying for that next Kyle Busch win. Hell at this point I’d be thrilled to see Hamlin or Bell get it done
Ross Chastain started the season off badly with a last place at Daytona and a 29th at Fontana. But in the last four races, he surged from 36th in points to 20th after Vegas, to 14th after Phoenix, to 10th last week after Atlanta. And now with his win at COTA, Ross now sits 5th in the points. His average finish went from a 34.5 after Fontana, to currently a 12.83 average finish after COTA.
Ross FULL SEND at the end puts him in victory lane. No problem with that at all. AJ moved him Ross moved him back. All is fair and love and racing my friend. Great channel and I'm so happy I found it. Fan for well as long as they throw the green flag. See ya next week.
Fun fact: if the 16 car gets a win during the regular season and there is not >15 unique winners (or would get to the playoffs in other ways) they will get a playoff spots on the owner's championship. It could be the difference in getting a larger charter payout from the positions earned from that. But like 25th vs maybe 10th is something significant. Maybe something to research more but I know this happen last year for the 54 car in Xfinity (they were in the final 4 for Owner's points and when Hemric won the race, the 22 (driven by Cindric) won the owners championship because the 18 wasn't in the final 4 for Owner's points.
Hey Eric, I think that it’s unfair that you mentioned that Bowman was about to back into a win again here. Kyle Busch should not have said that either. That 48 team and driver worked hard all day to put themselves up front and into that situation to create a win just like 1 and the 47 did in the last laps. You may be overlooking just how much work it is for these teams to create strategies and a path to be in these positions to win at the end laps of any race.
Like the retired guys in the booth always say. If you move them outta your way, make sure they can’t get back to your bumper. Fair racing and I have no skin in this game, I like both those guys and it looked like Cup Racing that I grew up watching in the 80’s. Anyone upset with the end of a Cup race like this shouldn’t even bother to watch.
Before I hear your take on the second to last lap or I read any other comments, it was 100% FAIR! I think that's why the Dinger wasn't pissed. AJ bumped first and granted Ross hit AJ more than once, it was still 100% called for. I'm very surprised that AJ hit him.on that corner and not waited till turn 20, I think. We're all the calamity went down. With his experience he should have waited till the last corner where no retaliation could take place. Anyhoot, I'm a huge fan of both AJ and Ross and Alex. It wax awesome to see the three of them go at it. Only thing better would have been if Chase was closer to be a fourth car in the
Whenever you move someone, the gloves are off for whatever happens in my opinion. If you pass a guy clean like Martin Truex Jr. does, then you earn the victory. Hard racing is the game.
Hey Eric Matt Kenseth is racing May 1st at Madison international speedway Madison Wisconsin. Matt will also be going to the slinger nationals this year you should definitely go you would have a blast.
Extra note on KB, I don't know what caused his 2nd spin since it wasn't shown, but he was racing around 5th on the last lap. So if he didn't spin on his own, that means he likely spun off of Elliott or Reddick. If it was Elliott, I'd expect payback since that would be twice in one race
@@Mac-td7lt Not saying that at all, I'm saying Hendrick provides the engines to his car, so it makes sense that Trackhouse is having success, also combine that with having 2 drivers that are driving incredibly well, like who saw Daniel Suarez getting 2 top 5's so far, and if he had a better strategy, probably would've could've gotten a 3rd top 5 today
Hey, this is racing! Good Lord! He bumped him out of the way to win. That's what you do!!! AJ and Alex are free to do the same each and every race. Have at it boys!!!
I am not a road course fan ! But I'm glad there's another time winner ! And I hope NASCAR will be crowning a first-time champion at the end of the season !
Best race on this year. I'm happy for Chastain and Trackhouse, they deserved it and we have 6 diferent and 3 first winners this year. I hope Reddick and Suarez get a win soon, also Gilliand and Burton as underdog win. Good analisis Eric 👍👍
What would be amazing is for NASCAR to develop the technology for virtual yellows, like Formula 1 does. It's mainly used for stalled vehicles/debris and then safety cars/pace cars are used for accidents. It's pie in the sky however, NASCAR doesn't race enough road courses to invest money into that. Shoot, not even IMSA does it yet.
I've been going over to my buddies house to watch the races the last few weeks. Starting with Las Vegas, we've just muted the tv, made dinner, talked with freinds, etc. and Watched the race without the broadcast. I'm not saying I found a loophole or anything, but the races are far more enjoyable this way. And don't feel like I'm missing any of the action or tid-bits the booth throws out.
They picked the right time to bring Tony back into the booth, since that finish somewhat paralleled his 2016 Sonoma win.

I didn't even see Chastain crossing the line on the international broadcast, they really just showed Justin Marks...
I fell asleep during the race 😆 and they only showed one clip in victory lane in the quick post race show. Victory lane has always been a tradition. They had to rush off to put flatch on 🙄
God is good
I listened to the radio broadcast white watching the race coverage on Fox on mute. It was AMAZING.

I hope Suarez gets his first win soon as well I can’t wait to see that.
Another interesting piece of info not many think of this is the third team Ross has gotten the teams first win for. Niece Motorsports in trucks, Kaulig in xfinity and now Trackhouse in cup
Ross didn’t just get Niece their first win, he has all 3 of their wins.

It would have been cool for any three to win, but congratulations to Ross!
Glad Truex got a top 7 by the way.
Always enjoy a Eric Estepp episode! I think it was fair , ross was dominating those last few laps and he wanted that first cup win
Lets not forget that RCR was the team that developed this new car. So Trackhouse and RCR having a leg up early isnt really surprising
@@OGSharpshooter317 I don’t believe RCR ‘ developed ‘ the NextGen car. But Nascar was on RCR ‘ campus ‘ . Remember., at one point and time RCR did run in the truck division in Xfinity and Cup.
The cartoon images of the drivers is so kid oriented ... Is this a professional sport?
If you're comparing F1 to this new car, that's your 1st mistake. Care to keep going?
@@falloutboy9424 Maybe you should actually finish reading this dude's comment before bashing him lol. Everything he said was spot on
On the Fox subject.
The production is the issue. The booth is excellent though and Tony should be full time.
FOX is actually good and entertaining, it's NBC I can't stand.
Was great seeing you in person. What an awesome race!
You’re literally outdoing Fox this year 👍
Absolutely exactly right in your comment
Look at trackhouse compared to 23/11 as a second year team . Very impressive so far
I give it a 98 on my Groovy gauge. I wasn't even there, but think that the venue did 110% for the fan experience! And the race was awesome too!
Dinger did the very legal bump and run. Chastain was more looking to take Dinger out by snow plowing him, and got lucky he didn’t take himself out.
I dont know why NASCAR doesnt use IMSA to help them manage the road courses. Especially since NASCAR races at the SAME TEcks IMSA races at with the exception of Indy RC. they can help with tech regs and race stewardship.
This is why Nascar is called sports entertainment
I definitely agree, it's been really nice having the young drivers get the spotlight
I don't think your giving bowman nearly enough credit, just because he didn't lead all race doesn't mean he would have backed into another win, he always focuses on strategy and being there at the end and waiting to make his move
He doesn't deserve this disrespect and hate he's gotten recently
Taken out but finished 2nd? What
he didnt dump him, if bowman wasnt there it wouldnt have been an issue. also bowman finished 2nd lmao
Literally Bowman said hes done it too and hes not upset. He freaking told Chastain to put it on a tshirt and sell it.
It was 100 percent fair. The Dinger had to know it was coming because he did it first
Huge difference in what each driver did. Ross just drive thru him sending him from 2nd to 33rd.
@@blawrence4007 I agree. AJ raced Ross hard and outdrove him. Ross just drove into AJ because it was the only way to win. No skill involved there.
I've been a fan of Chastain since he stood up to Harvick at Darlington in an Xfinity race a few years ago.
I agree I’m getting a bit fed up with the he backs in to wins narrative it’s disrespectful and flat out wrong.
I am tired of people saying he back into a win. He is always there. You must stopped with Kyle Busch pouting about somebody snookering him.

I think the 16 wrecking was more because the 48 was there. Without the 48 that shot the 1 gave the 16 was the same the 16 gave the 1.
I think he has some great tracks coming up too. Richmond and Martinsville, tracks you have to muscle the car around. I think he'll keep the strong run going, they've certainly figured something out. It's good to see.
Tony needs a permanent spot in the booth
I like Tony, but there's no way he'd give up racing for a full time commentary job
I’m loving this season, but MW in the pre-race program is something I could do without.

That would be Kurt Busch
Chevy does have younger drivers. Maybe they are adapting to the Gen7 car quicker than the old guys.
Almost looked like a Bristol race. Loved it!
NASCAR could very easily utilize one of the alternate layouts to cut off most of the track once the pace car collects the field under caution.

I was surprised that there were not many commercials on the FOX broadcast yesterday. And when they did, they went side by side

I am not a road course fan ! But I'm glad there's another time winner ! And I hope NASCAR will be crowning a first-time champion at the end of the season !
It will , it'll be 48 or 14 ,
Best race on this year. I'm happy for Chastain and Trackhouse, they deserved it and we have 6 diferent and 3 first winners this year. I hope Reddick and Suarez get a win soon, also Gilliand and Burton as underdog win. Good analisis Eric 👍👍

@@diychad7268 I'm not english speaker, the proofreader wrote it like this.
