random animator giving tips: make sure to draw key frames in animation, it really helps me 5 years ago: pff i dont need to do that me 4 years later trying keyframes: oh wait-
This was really helpful bc not many people on youtube go into this much detail and help and motivate you to create your own animation and talk about how everyone can relate to having a hard time understanding animation!
Thank you for this, Sebastian. I've learned so much from your channel, alongside Barricados and Darren T. I'm still a troubleshootin rookie, but it's always encouraging to keep at it after these helpful tutorials. Cheers.
bro you really are a blessing, i feel really comfortable and im going to download the software. iv been using firealpaca and its not really meant for animation
Pretty cool, first time of getting to know OpenToonz. Thanks a lot for this quick tutorial and i hope you will have more time to make the next one longer and probably explain with slower mouse movements pls.
Thank you *so* much for sharing your valuable knowledge about animation and helping out the community! I'm totally new to animation and you've already become my main guru/mentor :)
Hey, thank you for these videos. I'm just getting started with animation (on a computer) and you've helped make it feel less overwhelming. You're awesome!
Thank you for the tutorial! I was wondering which brushes are best to use in this software. I previously worked with TV paint so I'm trying to see how I can transition to Opentoonz. As an animator myself, I would strongly recommend not to number your frames like that even if it makes it easier for you, it looks very confusing. (hope it doesn't sound like a rant)
I can tell that you're passionate and dedicated. As a retired Chief I spent countless hours training my cooks and weight staff. Always being mindful. Sometimes explaining it even slower until they succeeded. Sadly you talk so fast and move so fast it's hard to see what you're doing. I guess I just go back to blender
Hey, could you give us some tips on how to make some nice blur-motion effect? like when the animated character is running or kicking someone for example, that would be very useful. thanks
You're so calm and patient Has a nice vibe The software is also really easy on the user I think i'm gonna try it out Though, is there a way to make window bars for any of the keyboard shortcuts? (Not a fan of reaching over to the keyboard 'cause I'd rather Ctrl Z that sht on the screen itself)
I'd like a little help inserting and resizing/animating already-drawn images that I created through Photoshop and Illustrator. Can you point me in the right direction with one of your archived videos? Many thanks. Just getting started. "Rocket-powered and nailed to the ground," as Beck once said.
definitely a lot to sink in for sure. I have done animations with GIMP, but Gimp is not capable of using vectors, and the animations are not friends to shading and lighting. (not to mention GIMP is not intended for complex animations)
i dont have discord and this is a basic qusstion but when u animate scenes do u do the background seperate to the animation and add it in later or the aimation and u redraw the background all the time
I really like your channel but want to use Synfig as a beginner. Am I out of luck? Do you ever switch or give instructions that are generally applicable?
Hello sir .... I had drawn brush strokes . But the vector editor tools, pump tools aro not working. While I select those tools there's showing red cross. What I am doing wrong?
are you also able to import images you have drawn by yourself and animate them so they move arround for example, or is it the only possibility to draw in the program itself? thx
I hope you can still see this but i'm having a hard time understanding inbetweens. is it like you use it to slow down frames? coz usually animations are 24 frames per second means u have to draw 24 times just to get 1 sec movement? like for example i took 12 frames just to make my character running and when you play it, it's too fast so u use inbetweens to slow it down? and too smoothen the animation u have to draw more?? i hope you get my question LOL PS (watched the whole vid didn't know i can change the fps lol)
I'd watch this video and the one after it. I explain how in-betweens work and how to achieve fluid animation. ua-cam.com/video/TxC0H3FINqg/v-deo.html I hope this helps!
Question! After you make your 2 key frames how do you create frames in between those key frames so that it’ll be gradual like you did. I am stuck at that In which I cannot create my other frames
I have a question... If we draw each and every frame by hand then what's the point of using a software?? Actually I am a beginner and I don't have a drawing tablet, so I'm thinking to draw in my android tab an then import it in opentoonz, so is that possible??
The point of drawing it every frame by hand in digital is called frame by frame. The software just adds key frames, zooms to a particular shot, and such. If you draw every frame by hand into paper it's called stop motion.
Sorry to bother, just started using opentoonz, and whenever I press play while animating to preview what I did, it doesn't play. Instead the FPS flashes red. What do I do to fix this? Thanks!
hey i know you may probably not see this comment but can you show us how to draw a background like buildings, land formation and stuff? If not that's okay. Thank you.
do you have facebook to show you my work i doing and is it good i do on Flash also i hve question how to draw fight scenes and how to make some poses? somtime is confuse for me and i stuck
I have a question, what's the difference between the toonz raster level, to the another ones? I tested, but I see no difference, just the raster level, that you can change the color, without changing the color line that you drew, It can more easy that you have to create a new column to each color. But the vector level, I see no difference between the toonz raster level. And too, do I have to always use the the toonz raster level?
Vector levels are math-based so vector drawings are typically easier to manipulate even after you draw them (like using the ironing tool, pinch tool, etc) where as raster levels work as if you’re drawing with a pen and paper (you can’t move lines around, etc.). Vector levels also don’t look pixelated if you zoom in whereas raster levels do
Arrrgh¡😤😤 I can't do a single line with a vector level! Its is too slow! Xc it is so annoying I am thinking to just use the raster layers...does someone know how to fix this? 🥺🥺🥺
I have seen everyone who are using opentoonz can draw like anime...is that the rule? Or it s jst because it was used to create some of Miyazaki animation that's why everyone think opentoonz can make your animation looks like spirited away?
Was wondering if anyone could help me out! Whenever I use the onion skin mode instead of the previous layer being a red color it still shows up as black with the opacity at 100%? I don't know how to change this please help!
I even tried altering the preferences on onion skin and it says that the onion skin would be red and green but it's still just black as if I'm on the same layer?
@@NobleFrugal Thank you so much for responding! I'm using the Toonz Rastor layer but u went over to the vector layer and the onion skin was working on there! Is that the one I'm supposed to be using?
This is a really useful video. You've covered lots here, including lots of tips as you demo. And I'm liking the animation. Nicely done
I'd say, mission accomplished 👌

what is the use of preset function that you used to name one of your frame sketch rough i cant understand i it is rough then what would be fare.
