I love this bowl. My husband and I have done a few projects, nothing this large, but your project has given me lots of ideas. I did notice you had a pine cone, we made pen blanks using pine cones when they were finished you didn't even know that it was a pine cone, took them to church to show them off sold both of them, one of them a pen I wanted. That will be a project for us to make in the future. Great Bowl.
Thank you, Frances! It's definitely fun to see the finished pieces and I am always amazed at how they turn out! I appreciate your feedbacka dn am glad that I have inspired you to try different things!
Nice fruit bowl indeed. Be nice to hear more of the details like the specific products/tools being used. Looks like you had to do an additional pour but you didn’t mention it…coulda been better to see it come out of the pressure pot and out of the bucket. Plus how you initially mounted it to the lathe. As a newbie I love knowing the details. Sprague Woodturning is probably my favorite channel as he is very very thorough with details. Probably why he has over 100K subscribers. Anyway I enjoy your channel and look forward to your next video. 😊
Thank you, and I appreciate the feedback! No extra pours were needed, and taking it out of the bucket was LITERALLY just turning it over. There wasn't anything special about how I mounted it, as it was just between centers. I will consider ways to be more thorough, but I know a lot of people don't like super long videos.
Thermal cracking isn't just because of the mix, that's all based on overall volume and heat. Cracking can be minimized by keeping a fan blowing on the pressure pot to help diffuse the heat. If there is any minimal cracking, I'll usually do a fill with CA glue and Mica powder.
Beautiful
Thank you, Carl! Hope you're doing well!
Absolutely beautiful Daniel I'm sure she will be happy with this one👍👏
Thank you, Tim! I certainly hope so!!!

That'll be really pretty when you get it finished, DD!
Thanks, Billy! I agree!

I'm a big fan of that blue and how it contrasts with the multiple shades of the casting material.

Beautiful as usual! How do you know how far to drill down/in the bowl? Doubt that you have ever drilled thru one!
Hahaha, actually I have.... it's then a funnel instead of a bowl.
Measuring carefully and using calipers!
Nice..with a 1to1 mix how did you keep it from thermal cracking? P.s. I love my peak power cap.

Which style Peak respirator do you use? Face shield, face mask or helmet?
I have the one with the face shield. There is a link in the video description to the one I have.
