Yep, I finally found it. This was one of the first games my dad let me play with him around 8:00. It was one of my first FPS shooters just moments before my dad introduced me to halo. But my mom got upset at us and told me to go to sleep because it was a school night...
The explosion animation loom similiar to Pearl Harbor movie, secondly the PT Boat should have get the shockwave from the explosion, the boat would've at least get thrown at in the air for a bit and the crew would get thrown around as well
@@Paladin_GreenIf I remember right, I believe the explosion on Arizona put out the flames on Vestal. Vestal, would go on to serve the important role of keeping Enterprise alive. Like a doting war nurse, she was always there for the legendary carrier. And she’d be needed often, as she would nearly die many times in holding the Pacific aginst the empire itself. If Vestal had been destroyed at Pearl, there’s a chance Enterprise would’ve sunk at some point without her. In a way, maybe Arizona didn’t die in vain? You could argue, that she saved Vestal, so Vestal could save Enty. At least, that’s my hopeful, bittersweet way of looking at it. Penny would certainly want revenge, maybe more so than Enterprise.
I LOVE these levels in the game, so fun and atmospheric. Although my only gripes (which are too minor to take away from any of the fun) are that the flak guns you get on at the end were not present on US ships at the time and the Val dive bomber which was 1 of 3 Of the Japanese planes at Pearl are absent and replaced with bomb-equipped Zeros. The Kate torpedo bombers do look really lovely in this however.
The Flak Gun at the end (not a Bofors but a 1.1 In. Chicago Piano) WAS fully in service with the US Navy at the time, and definitely onboard West Virginia, but it did not have proximity fuze bursting shells, but contact explosive shells. So the ammo seen here isn't correct, but the weapon is. Vals are present in this mission, but you have to look closely, as they are missing the fixed landing gear, but they are a different in-game model from the Zeros. The Kates' wings don't seem completely right to me though, have a slightly swept look to them.
For all of you who think this game play is chaotic you just think about the real thing and this was a picnic compared to those who actually went through this and survived give your thanks to them...
Instead of saying obvious things like how great this game is, I just want to say that I have a huge respect for American WW2 veterans. The world thanks you. The world salutes you.
