In actual fact the Zero was the most feared plane on earth at the time and alot of those men in the American planes did not get to go back home.

We use so much tech on realistic graphics which I like, but it would be nice to see more creative gameplay with less boundaries.
And better physics... like bf4

What really grinds my gear is seeing SBD dog fight with the Zero.

Yes, fully loaded with bombs and in actual maybe a thousand rounds or so. Imagine and under powered two seat bomber as nimble as a ZERO…. I kind of don’t see that working out for us that well.
The action trailer seem way to cartoon like vs a more realistic and on going damage model.
So what’s their target group of gamers?? It’s not adults it seems but younger teens maybe ?? I mean Red Baron II was a PC game way back in the early 90’s and it had realistic as you could get at the time battle and performance effects on the pilot and plane. You could have an undamaged plane and engage in a few beginning hard stress maneuvering turns and snap wings from over stress…. You could red out and black out. You could take damage and have your oil cover your face and hamper your vision.. you could catch fire and maybe cut your engine and dive to put it out to maybe save yourself to land. It was brilliant…. You had limited ammunition and fuel. Your damage sometimes was able to be flown for a while until a few too many struts broke or you engine just had enough…. It was glorious back then. Now I am sure a PS 4 or 5 could realize such things today easily…. Why don’t they make games like that ??? Instead of the geared for morons with lavish cut scenes and average game dynamics????
It’s a pity. Anyone remember the Apple II e?? The old midway game with just texts and numbers…. You had to figure out the grid to send your fleet…. When you prepare them and interpret the bits of information you might get from scout planes ?? No graphics.. just sentences and numbers…. Yet, it was way better than some of the crap today
@@sailaway0013realistic flight sims such as DCS and IL2 are on pc, not consoles. Not sure what is was like in the game you described but in DCS you need training just to start your engine. Taxiing a spitfire is another story, then taking off and trimming out the plane, navigating and finally coming in for landing, flaps and landing gear down, retrimming and if you finally manage to taxi back to the parking spot you have spent quite some time in the sim getting the hang of it.
The SBD did score many air victories. I believe it had 3:1 KR… not totally bogus
Looks like an arcade shooting game, enemies always waiting you to shoot them.
Since when is CoD NOT an Arcade Shooting Game?
That also depends on the difficulty its set on... put it on veteran and then see if they stand there like bots lol
It’s cod the ai has always been dumb lol. Even more evident in an open world type mission

The dive bombing segments with the flack coming up to meet you would rock in VR
This reminds me of the classic PC game back in the eighties, Pacific Air War 1942, by Microprose.
That game was awsome but had some mistakes
During the war, there was a Kamikaze pilot that crashed his plane onto the deck of the USS MISSOURI (BB 63). The pilot was unsuccessful in causing any major damage but when his body was pulled from the wreckage, the CO after discussing with the Chaplain, decided to conduct a burial at sea with full honors for the fallen Japanese pilot. The crew was obviously not impressed with their Skipper, but unbeknownst to most the CO had actually lost his brother during the war. If anyone had a reason to hate this pilot who was an enemy that CO did. Despite all of this, the CO who considered that pilot an enemy in life, deemed him a man and brother in death. Someone's son who would have wanted him to be treated with respect. They even sewed together the Japanese flag for the ceremony. “A fellow warrior who had displayed courage and devotion, and who had paid the ultimate sacrifice with his life, fighting for his country." Capt Callaghan.

It’s the regenerative health that I’ve never liked. That’s one reason I prefer classic MoH games
No!! It's very realistic to hit a plane and still be okay. I'm a pilot and one time I plowed my Boeing 737 into another 737 and we just bounced off each other like pinballs with no damage. Technology is amazing!!

This game would be awesome in VR! Too bad they didn't take the opportunity to bring this to PSVR 2. Look at the HUGE success of the VR version of Resident Evil Village. That game looked amazing and was a lot of fun to play!
VR died before it ever got a chance. When it’s no bigger than a pair of reading glasses, and fully wireless, we’ll circle back n try again.
you're VERY wrong. VR is more popular than ever with MILLIONS of Quest 2 headsets sold. Now is the roll out of the Quest 3 and Apple just came out with the Vision Pro. Also, to mention the PSVR 2 selling better than the first one. You have NO idea what you're talking about!@@whillb

😂 There are VR dedicated gaming channels. I see VR ads EVERYDAY from Meta. Also, IGN a major gaming channel with 17 million followers has covered VR news regularly. If you just search in their channel search bar VR you'll see all the videos dealing with VR. Just because you're not into VR doesn't mean other people aren't.@@whillb
I wish we’d get a proper WW2 game again from COD and BF but taken more seriously. And cover more theatres. Most popular ones plus more that don’t really get much attention. Online and story.
We did have BFV, gameplay in multiplayer was awesome but it’s not fully authentic in ways. Story was so, so. COD WW2 I enjoyed the campaign but it loses itself at times to be more Hollywood. Online I didn’t enjoy.
I haven’t played Vanguard but some missions look pretty awesome. I suppose if I have to choose I’d go with a campaign like WW2 mixed with some Vanguard missions had but even more grounded. Less over the top. And multiplayer like BF1943 on PS3. With some BFV maps, guns and vehicles.

Beautiful game, but because of the bungled nature of the attack, Midway was largely a slaughter for our boys, going in with no fighter cover, without a coordinated attack. The final attack that sunk the carriers was seemingly perfectly coordinated by accident since the attacking squads were unaware of each other. But I guess you've got to make the game playable rather than realistic. Still, it would be interesting to have players play the suicidal initial waves that were annihilated without causing any damage that cleared the skies of fighter cover that permitted the final wave to succeed.
Pro really still playing vanguard, let alone just now doing it on next gen.
There was a game on Xbox 360 that was about flying older planes like these. What was the name of it?? It had an awesome camera option where it would lock on to enemy planes and I loved it.
