This is one aspect of golf that I love, that a 70 year old pro could still mop the floor with half-way decent 20 year olds.
Happens every day in the desert, bro
77yrs old and he did amazing
Arnold is in a whole different league. Being young in the game of golf means nothing.
It's a lot harder than it looks.
71 years old and still firing like an animal thru the ball!! Gives me goose bumps
Miss your Arnold :( met him at The Reserve Oregon golf course when I was 8 years old. Friendly guy and one of the greatest!
Thanks for sharing! That's amazing! Good thing you remember it!
as a fellow Oregonian it’s always cool to play the reserve thinking about the greats who have walked it!
That’s awesome. I’ve met Jack Nicklaus a few times. Arnold shall never be forgotten.
Wow I’m from Oregon but played the reserve once. Had no clue the great ap was there among others. Thanks for sharing
Despite his limited range of motion he has great acceleration
he was a "width player", meaning all he needed was to straighten his left arm, not make a deep high turn with his hands high.
@@billmoyer3254 Yeah, I can see that in his current swing
Noticed that immediately. Insane
Moment of truth !
He's the certified goat
Arnold was universally loved by all his fans! He also looks like the kind of guy who never invested in golf lessons-he worked on his game all by himself! Went right out there and did it, and earned it! He is missed by everyone! Seemed like a true gentleman!
Miss this man every day. A humble, great man with a passion for life!
Simply put...THE KING....
That short game tho .... legend
Really miss that man, he was truly a class act.
3:00 really left the bro hanging
nah he shakes everyone's hand they just cut the footage off short
The joy of my earthly life was giving Arnold Palmer a ride in my car. 30 minutes! 30 minutes trying to watch the traffic and look over at ARNIE! in my car.
very cool!!!
He doesn't ride in cars. He flies his own whirly bird. Is a commercial pilot who knows how to fly 787s. This is why they call him the King
You gotta elaborate on that! Sounds like a story for the ages!
On a Tour setup as well, amazing.
This is amazing to watch
I don't think I'll live to be 120
Underrated comment
Arnie loved his life, golf and people rip
3:00 Aw Arnie left that caddie hanging badly
So so good and a good man
I love the dude getting snubbed at the very end
This is truly incredible
He promoted the game more than anyone ever has.
To get into Arnold’s event you have to be invited and be ranked in the top 50 in the world. How could the top 5 sit this out ??
From what I understand it's bad timing from a standpoint of preparing for the masters, maybe they try to play it every other year or so.
If you have to be in the top 50 then there would only be 50 guys or less...figure it out.
@@johnnyutah482 I was talking about the top 5 players in the world ranking opting not to play in the tournament
@@wadetaylor3195 in your last sentence, yes
@@AjaxNixon I would imagine it is more that The Players was moved. A full month before The Masters shouldn't have any impact.
Extremely impressive
I love PGA West....I love Arnie too.
R.I.P. Legend 🥺
Peter Alliss on the call. Awesome
Incredible
That doesn't happen very often. Only the true greats.
inspiration
age doesn't matter in golf i have 80 years old grandpa and he still playing golf with his friend 🤩
Arnold Palmer LOVED ⛳ golf. You could feel it. That's why we love Arnold ! Golf was in his veins. Nicklaus played just for fame and business. But Arnold !! He was happy just to play golf- even if he only had a nickel in his pocket. The most popular golfer ever is by far, Arnold Palmer !! ❤ ⛳
Awesome
RESPECT
So Cool 😎
I love this
Ok here’s my Arnold story. I was 24 yrs old and at the 1986 Bay Hill tournament which of course Arnie hosted and he was standing around talking to someone and I approached him with my program which I asked him to sign and he was ready to oblige except for one thing: I didn’t have a pen! What an idiot I felt like! He shrugged his shoulders and I don’t remember exactly all the things that proceeded from there, but I do remember he waited until I grabbed a pen and he did sign my program. Great human being. His “everyman” persona was authentic. Unfortunately, I cannot find that program. Still an idiot! 😄
amazing
Like a boss
Absolutely infredible
Swings better at 71 than all the teenagers I see at the range
If someone were to dislike this video, I can only imagine how miserable your life must be.

So this was a regular PGA tournament he was playing back in 2001 or this was champions tour he was playing back then??..
Regular tour
RIP THE KING
I remember this, at that time the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic was kind of a big deal as celebrities and legends would participate, most at the personal invitation of Bob Hope. Six years before this, one of the pro-am groups featured Bob Hope, George HW Bush and Bill Clinton, one of the coolest moments in Tour history.
King Not Forgotten 2021Born Sept10
Just goes to show golf is only 10% swing, but 80% control
Its all about muscle memory.

What other game can everyone play competitivly no matter the age or gender 🤔
He was so good lol he was better at 71 than I am at 27 legit
Arnold the high flying eagle.
Most of us will never come close to shooting our age
💚💚💚💚💚
Tiger won’t be able to walk at 60
He can't walk at 45.
Isaiah 46:4...Thank you Lord😌
Thank you for this video🏌🏻♂️

Old age is another reason to Thank God and to always keep a smile on your face because of the wisdom that you have...🧓👴🏻👵🏾Bless them Father 🤍
The first golfer that ever watched because my brother use to wear Arnold Palmer polo shirts with the Umbrella logo..Even at an older age Mr.Palmer was still winning on the golf course I mean just making plays...but that's how the Lord Jesus Christ will Bless you..when alot of us are looking for Materialistic things God will say no and give you a Peaceful game of Golf surrounded by Peaceful people and he will hold you up and give you the Strength to get to and from conquering each day with Joy...Tell The Lord Thank you💙
God Bless you All✨
I LOVE YOU 💚
When God swung his trusty 1 iron and pured reality and everything in it into existence including time itself that's when He knew there would be great golfers like Arnold and Jack who would try to emulate Him, including even being called King. The anti Christ's.
Big deal shooting your age. Ive shot 5 times mine, several times
not on a PGA tour course you haven't.
But not in a professional PGA tournament. Big difference. Palmer shot better than Tiger Woods, who was 25, that particular round. Doubt you could beat either one.
I am just hoping to get to 70 and not be a "cripple", never mind still being able to play golf
did palmer always putt so wristy?
So what..i can shoot a 71 no problem..well, for the front 9 anyways lol
I assume it wasn’t the back tees? Lol
You would assume.wrong...admittedlu the courses uses were not the toughest on the PGA Tour but AP was hitting from.the same rees as the young pros 40 plus years his junior.
First
Fantastik player but awful swing
His swing may not have been "long and flowing" ala Payne Stewart, Sam Snead, but he obviously did the most important things to generate club head speed and get the club *through* the ball.
He's doing a great 71 yr old swing getting the *club* moving, and keeping the body motion compact.
More or less how Doug Sanders swung his whole career.
Stopping the arms and hands near the ball, and letting the clubhead fire through, is much more efficent than dragging the arms, hand and club all at once through the ball
