  • Making mulch at home using Ryobi 2400W Crushing Shredder. I want to share my experience with the machine. I’ve had it for about 9 months and use it mainly when I prune trees or for fallen branches.
    I like the shredder - it has performed well for me.

      It’s a great machine. I think they’re releasing one that’s battery operated. Did you get coddles or wired?

    Great tip: if it starts to rain you can use the container that catches the chips. Place upsidedown over the mulcher to keep the rain off it

    Are the blades accessible for sharpening &/or replacing?

    You should've shown your audience the hidden button on the machine that when pressed converts tree branches into $100 notes

    All well and good til you have a stuck branch and have to get the blades out - I’m still trying to get the shaft back in - after three days of trying I don’t fancy my luck…the shaft comes out with the blades: don’t let that happen! Use plenty of WD40 and be sure to wiggle the blades out without letting the shaft move: tricky.

    How would you run it through again? I love the idea as i want really fine mulch... but ryobi should make like a funnel attachment to pour in the already mulched pieces.
    Overall looks like a great little mulcher. :)

      That’s a good point. A funnel would be so handy. I wonder if those larger funnels for petrol/oil would work. I think I’ll try it next time

    Do the neighbours hate the noise, can you use it just for leaves. I want to make leaf mulch 🙏🏻

      I haven’t had any complaints about the noise. To me a power washer is more annoying.as far as leaves go - if the leaves are large they will cut when fresh. Smaller leaves don’t really do well, they just fall through. If you collect all the leaves and mow over them they will be finer.

      I changed the setting to make it finer. it’s more like wood chips but as someone mentioned in these comments I should make it finer once done

    honey with how dry, weak & small those branches were I'd just tear them apart myself - can't you put some big bush branches in that most gardners deal with please?

    • @busychrisgardening
      @busychrisgardening  5 місяців тому

      Big bush branches don’t really fit.

      @@busychrisgardening hun, every (even small) garden has thicker sized & less straight bush branches than that- unless you only grow straight twigs in cartoon land.

    It's so sad that people who don't understand what they are doing post videos. Read the instructions, watch videos of other users, you'll soon learn how to shred properly unlike this lady.
