It's cuz the take is pretentious as fuck. Remakes are made for money yeah, but as long as they're handled fine, people will buy. That's consumerism. If it was truly bad, no one would play it, let alone speedrun it.
From the title I was expecting both games being controlled simultaneously. That would probably be *impossible* and this is still cool.
This deserves to be its own speedrun category. Its not just as simple as combining the optimal speedrun strats for both games. Sometimes its worth it to do a slower strat in one game so you can progress faster in the other like waifu did in the wrecking ball room. This run was wayyy more nuanced than i first expected when reading the title.
No seriously, I would love to see other runners do this.

"I thought like it sounded like a good video idea." From literally week 1 of this coming out and having speedruns submitted I was thinking to myself "It would be a really cool idea to see a side by side video of both games to compare differences." I'd like to see full game vs full game but seeing speedrun vs speedrun is cool too.

in remake, you either have to survive for 5 minutes or kill 15 ganados, cutscenes are a part of the timer, so dont skip them. dr. salvador shows up at 2 minute mark.

I maybe switched weapons with the scroll wheel or number keys like 10 times total in the 3 playthroughs I've done because I'm so used to using the inventory screen in the original.
What do you think classifies as a good game to speedrun? Gameplay, useful bugs/glitches, risk vs reward, etc.

You are once again reminding me that speedrunners are a completely different breed of gamer from me. This was a super interesting run; thanks for sharing.
I will say that it's funny to me that you find the OG's "Water Room" harder than the remake's "Water Hall." For me, it's the other way around in the most extreme way: I find the Remake Water Hall to absolute hell, but I've never found the OG Water Room difficult at all; even when I did my first NG Pro playthrough, the Water Room was pretty easy and straightforward for me, and I easily passed it first try (I died some 39 times on that playthrough; 4-5 against Mendez, 8 times to Krauser, but not once to the Water Room). I'd chalk that different experience up to the difference between speedrunning and "normal" play, but I'm always hearing about the difficulty in pretty much any context. No idea what's up there.
Someone should hook Re4 Remake to a dance pad,and literally play Re4R and Re4 OG at the same time with their feet and their hands.

I don’t think so I think she’s way better in the remake but one thing I would have liked to see is Ashley having someway of defending herself like picking up a brick or a bottle so at the very least she’s not completely defenceless without you
@@joenash4802 Dude, have you played Professional? Her AI is awful. Constantly walks in front of you, never stays near you while you're running and you can't tell her to wait like in the original. Not to mention the poor design choice of letting you get a free insta kill on any enemy who grabs her, rewarding you for something that should be a mistake. Also in the original when you're shooting she'd always stand right behind you and out of your way. How anyone can think she's an improvement in the remake is beyond me lol.

I like her I think character wise they improved upon her a lot and think how more annoying it would have bean if they kept her health bar from the original at least now you can smoke all them herbs yourself
And I feel like whenever Ashley gets kidnapped I actually miss her a bit unlike the original we’re you were better off with her gone
Also side note I love how in the remake she cheers you on in the shooting range

In the OG re4 u can actually stealth the village if u go to certain house and just be there without doing anything, u just have to wait until they ring the bell, i think u can pass the village with 0 kills with that strat and its just free time to play the remake
