BEWARE: Do NOT buy the speakers listed in the link above. (They are boat speakers) They have a large frame, do NOT fit and are not compatible with the speaker adapters. Use the Polk DB651s speakers shown in the video. After waiting two weeks to return and reorder speakers, the installation went quickly (3 hours) and the video is very helpful.
One of the best walkthroughs I've seen in a while. Glad you started with the "hey you're going to need this stuff" before showing the door disassembly.
Just completed the job on my 2008 Ridgeline. Your video was a HUGE help! There were some very slight differences but easy to make the adjustment. Saved me $150! I put in 6532ex infinities. Sweet sound! I listen to hard rock and plenty of bass for me.
I just did my swap with same speakers on my 06 and sounds alot better. All factory speakers were dry rotted and cracked. I added factory like foam on back of speaker adapters like factory and dieelectric grease on connectors adapters. Thanks!
You can get the plastic piece out. You stick a flat head in the top. And pull. Then slide up. Thanks for letting me know about the little harness. I didn't wanna start cutting stuff up. And re wire.
I just put two 10inch subs under the backseat via a exact fit box an a mono amplifier under drivers seat. Didn't think the door ones worth the trouble but may do those now too. Thanks
How was the improvement on the scale of 1-10? Also, did you have tweeters installed? Currently trying to find speakers for my ridgeline. Have a pioneer headunit and will be using thay to power the speakers, no amps
My speakers came with wires that connect to the speaker, but just end with more wire at the other end, rather than a harness that fits into the harness that goes to the stereo. Is there a way to use the harness from the old speakers, or would I need to purchase an adapter?
I had to cut down the inside of the door panel. The plastic circle where the speaker sits. The panel doesn't fit unless you do this. It is super easy to do with an utility knife.
I have a 2014 SE, supposed to have premium sound but it sucks, also the tweeter placement on this is horrible, has anyone replaced the tweeters on this vehicle?
At the beginning of the video you had broke the factory mount when removing it..but on the second door you did not..would it be possible to re use the factory mounts if they weren't broken?
I just got a 13 Ridgeline. The speakers sound like crap- would like to replace them but keep the stock head unit. Do you think that would make it better or am I just wasting my time without replacing the head unit?
Front and rear are the same speakers size. From what I've heard Crutchfield tests all their products to make sure sizing fits before placing and saying it fits your vehicle model and year. I'm just praying normal speakers fit and I don't need some slims...

I’ll edit the link

Helping people 8 years later, I'm about to replace the blown out speakers on my 2009 honda ridgeline, thanks for the video it was really helpful.
2007 Honda Ridgeline here, found this video and I'll be replacing my speakers too. Thanks!

How awesome are you for doing this for the UA-camr world. Thank you.
Excellent my brother thank you
This was a huge help. I had to reinstall the door light which fell from the socket. Thanks for doing this you the man

Thanks fella, now I know what to go out and buy (as well as the speakers).

Great video... question, did you replace the tweeters also in your car when you did this?
Are the front speakers the same as the rear speackers
This will definitely help when its time to replace my door speakers thank you👍
What size screws did you use to attach the speaker to the mounting bracket??
I had to cut down the inside of the door panel. The plastic circle where the speaker sits. The panel doesn't fit unless you do this. It is super easy to do with an utility knife.
Crutchfield gave me the adapters AND wire harnesses for free.
Did you have to remove any of breakaway tabs on the Scosche speaker adapter for the speaker to fit flush in the adapter??
How do these speakers actually sound? Decent bass and sound?
what size are the screws you used for the polk speakers?
You could’ve used self tapping screws and good to go that’s what I did to mine and has D18 magnet in the back huge

It has to be slim speakers?

You saved me from. Amazing walkthrough.

Excellent post, thank you for sharing.
Do I need adapter for rear door as well ??
Very helpful! Thanks for the part numbers.
If buying door replacement speakers go though sonic electronix. They will give you the plastic mounts with your purchase!
thank you for sharing! I have the same speaker's they are Excellent sounding for the ridgeline! I have the 06 model I love it!!!!
Nice job. Mahalo. I'm going to pull my door panel. And cross my fingers. This will help Immensely.
Do you have a head unit that you recommend for a 09 Ridgeline RT? Thanks
Which model do you have? The one with premium sound or not?
Thank you for this!!!
How is the bass response? considering it's a 6.5 speaker.
Do these fit front and rear? Is this for an 06 to 14 Ridgeline?

@@davidgomez5116how'd it go with the normal size magnet?
@Adeus1 it fit with the adapter plates just make sure to break off some of the tabs if you go with 6.5 speakers
@@davidgomez5116thank you, brother.
BRAVO, great video, thank you!
do they make a speaker adapter for Honda pilot 2005. I can't find one
Great video! Thanks!!
what size self tappers did you use?
They look like typical Grabber 12's 3/4" panheads
With the speakers mentioned above (Not in video) from Amazon. I lot of modification has to be made.
What speakers did you use as replacements for the fronts/dash?
