He used the 6.5" speakers in this video; however, what he did not tell you was that they were the "shallow mount" version. Crutchfield uses full sized speakers for their "fitment" guide, normally. The reason normal 6.5/6.75" speakers won't fit is due to the depth of the larger magnet. It would hit the window when it is fully down...of which it would never go fully down...possibly damaging the speaker and window. So, if you want 6.5, go with the shallow mount. If you want full-sized speakers, go with the 5.25" speaker that Crutchfield recommends. Full speakers will sound "better" as they can move more than shallow mount. They traditionally can handle more power, as well.
@@davefox5617 ...HE didn't. That was the point of my statement. HE didn't. Yes, if you Google the model of the speaker, then people can read the description and do that. The point of my statement was that people don't blanket go out and buy the 6.5" speakers and wonder why they don't fit the same or even at all. I was just proactively speaking for the people that read comments, but don't necessarily read specs and blanketly search for a 6.5" speaker and assume they all fit, when they don't. That is all
@@davidhenrickson8476 I didnt know that either. I googled the size of the speaker and it says 6.5 then I bought my kickers second hand. Took the speaker out and seen that it dont look the same tried to take the old speaker from mount and was unsuccessful. So this the only reason why I'm here. But thanks to you I only got 1 minute into the video. I'm glad I read the comments while watching the obvious parts first. Thanks a million
i just put a new pioneer stereo in my wife’s trailblazer. it was a huge improvement over the factory bose system. she even noticed the improvement. i might replace the speakers if she blows them out from cranking it to eleven. thanks for the video. i look forward the the front door speaker install
Thank you so much for this video. Not for the how to video but for letting me know why my stereo was the worst ever. If I had the windows down I could barely hear it. I went through all the settings and all seemed fine. Watched this video and went and got two 6.5 kenwoods for 40 bucks from autozone and I was jamming. Night and day. My front speaker wires were soldered to the speaker so I just snipped the wires and added two blue female spade connectors and worked like a charm
I thought I had a problem, but no problem. I removed the crappy GM speakers and had to drill new screw holes for the speaker. Once I did that, everything worked OK. I got the Infinity speakers today, and the adapter kit. Once I realized I didn't have a problem, it was a breeeze. Sounds AWESOME. I';m gonna replace the front speakers next. Thanks for the video.
Hey, thanks for writing. Sorry you're having issues. Even though that speaker coming out isn't perfectly round and the whole on that black panel isn't perfectly round, I think a perfectly round speaker should still be able to fit there. There were 2 little location pins (the size of pencil lead) that were part of that black panel I had to clip off so it would sit flush. Also, try spinning the speaker a little to see of the wholes line up at a different position. Are you sure these will actually work with your factory head unit? I've heard the Bose head unit and speaker all work together so I would try to connect the new speaker to the wiring just to see if you get a signal before you 'make' it fit. That panel you sent me on Amazon looks just like my panel and I don't have Bose. Also, that protruding part of the door panel should still fit. But definitely be very careful in checking that one. What I am assuming is all the paneling and fitment should be exactly the same as non-Bose but I really am not sure... Hope that helps. What's funny is I just bought another pair of those speaker and going to install them in my 1995 Suburban Rear doors... They sound incredible.
@@1RoadGarage Thx for the reply, nah, I worked thru the speaker issue, my plastic mounting panel didn't have the two nubs, and just rotate the speaker to get it to not extend past the top of the panel. IT sounds awesome. The door panel thing fit down around the speaker mount just fine. Now she wants me to replace the front door speakers as well! And I had to order a set of head unit radio knobs as those were worn out. You got a good video, thanks!!!!
FYI... Using factory wiring can work fine with speakers under 75 watts.... once you hit 75 watts or greater, you will want to bypass the factory wiring with new lower gauge wires. You can leave all the factory wiring in place, don't rip it out or anything, just tuck out of the way. But ultimately your choice on that.
I have an 08 and can confirm the REAR speakers are trash. The front door sound OK but a year ago the right, and now the left, have busted. The paper cone didn’t last. Disappointing from Bose. It’s not like better speaker technology didn’t exist 12 years ago.
Appreciate the video! I changed the rear speakers 1st because they were out & I don't have the adapters for the front just yet but they're sitting in my Amazon cart😁. I had to use my step drill to hone the mounts out just a tad bit because the Rockford Fosgates run maybe 1/16th larger than advertised. But I made a couple of rounds with the bit & they mounted right up! Other than that, everything came apart & went back together just like you said. Glad I had already bought that tool kit to remove those door panels. Thanks again & keep'em coming 👍🏿

My 2002 trailblazer ltz has a bose system. It needed to use 5.25" speakers-not 6/6.5" in the rear doors. See infinity 5032cfx. They fit perfectly and sound great. The wiring adapters suggested were needed and used. No torx screws - 1/4 socket on speaker screws.
Excellent. All 4 of the speakers in my 2004 Trailblazer are bad. The first one I checked had an open voice coil. Been meaning to upgrade the sound anyway.
I remember when factory radios & speakers used to be truly awful. I don't think that has been the case for 20 years. I would rather hear crystal highs instead of annoying earthworms....
Getting these infinities as well, they appear to be spec'd perfectly for the factory bose amp. Still unsure how to go about the fronts. I was thinking 2 way 3.5 inch for the dash, and finding shallow subs that'll fit the doors. But maybe thats a fools errand if I want bass, and should just opt for a proper sub/enclosure. Original rear speakers are 8ohm impedance. Info on the Infinity REF-6522EX speaker shows it is 3ohm. Anyone have a concern that the lower impedance is going to cause the factory amp to overheat/fail due to over current?
My 03 envoy has the bose sound system but I went a head and got two MB quartz 5 1/4 with the bass drivers in the front doors and the factory amp is in the back passenger quarter panel in the truck which also replaced with a old school mtx blue thunder series amps and a new alpine amp with a job 600.1 to handle my 2 kicker comps 12s pretty decent but gonna have to get some door mats losing alot of mid bass because of how open the door is my mids r losing volume in such a much bigger space for air
has anyone used mb quarts in their envoy or trailblazer with factory headunit. i installed one speak defiantly sounded more crisp but the sound was less big i guess and much lower then the other side back i have to turn it up almost full way to get the same sound on from the other side being on half if even that.i bought at 2 sets i might just sell them now ...
The Reference were my first upgrade for my Trailblazer then I upgraded those with the Kappa's and man what a huge difference. I do have a 4ch amp on mine tho. Good speaker choice!

I have replaced the stereo...rigged up an actual power source to the stereo instead of buying an overpriced adapter kit...everything else fit but no power wire running to the stereo...on factory, it’s powered via another wire blah blah...a huge mess...so I replaced the stereo, speakers as well as some of the wiring to the speakers since they’re not equally balanced for sound even though the stereo says it’s balanced...my back speakers barely put out any sound and the front passenger speaker happens to be the best sounding...I know it’s in the wiring harness because I’ve replaced what I have with new kenwoods so idk
What brutes be here today I had 04 up until 3 months ago now I have another 04 trailblazer and my goodness the sound system is awful compared to the last 04 I Think the 04 had a Bose sound system speakers in it and it was satisfying but in This new 04 I'm dying to change the speakers so I'm hoping this will Help me out!!!
Just look on your Service Parts Identification sticker, (sometimes called SPID), it's the sticker on the back of the glovebox door when you open it. Look for code UQA for Bose speaker system--it's more than just speakers... it includes an amp too!
My wife's 2005 Envoy XL has the factory Bose system. It has great sounding bass, but that's pretty much it. It doesn't go loud enough for me. I like being able to fully tune my audio to my likings and the biggest downfall for Bose is that there are only 2 or 3 preset EQ's to choose from😂. We're looking to upgrade it to a Pioneer touch screen receiver tho😁.

Probably. You can check crutchfield and there system should tell you what will fit.
I need to change my bose paper Chinese news paper speakers
Great Video! thanks.
What size of speaker you used please
nice
Love it
Original rear speakers are 8ohm impedance. Info on the Infinity REF-6522EX speaker shows it is 3ohm. Anyone have a concern that the lower impedance is going to cause the factory amp to overheat/fail due to over current?
What?
I love infinity speakers. I put a 6.5" pair alpine spe-6000 in my rear doors in my 06 trailblazer
What size the speakers is my question so I can order some new ones
My 03 envoy has the bose sound system but I went a head and got two MB quartz 5 1/4 with the bass drivers in the front doors and the factory amp is in the back passenger quarter panel in the truck which also replaced with a old school mtx blue thunder series amps and a new alpine amp with a job 600.1 to handle my 2 kicker comps 12s pretty decent but gonna have to get some door mats losing alot of mid bass because of how open the door is my mids r losing volume in such a much bigger space for air
I have a 2006 envoy and it has a bose sound system
has anyone used mb quarts in their envoy or trailblazer with factory headunit. i installed one speak defiantly sounded more crisp but the sound was less big i guess and much lower then the other side back i have to turn it up almost full way to get the same sound on from the other side being on half if even that.i bought at 2 sets i might just sell them now ...
What if you don’t have the adapter? My wires are yellow and black? Which is which lol
The Reference were my first upgrade for my Trailblazer then I upgraded those with the Kappa's and man what a huge difference. I do have a 4ch amp on mine tho. Good speaker choice!
Nice
Is it stock radio
Does this process apply for a trailblazer 2003 ls ?? Let me know please thanks in advance buddy
Jacob Martinez it should
I have the Bose system in my trailblazer and new back speakers did not sound better they actually sound worse what speakers should I put in there with the Bose system
What is the link for the wire for the speakers
Great video it will help me out a lot , thanks
He’s definitely bored! What’s next how” to replace shocks in the envoy”
Corey The FAM haha
Well only one problem what about the front?? Do they work in the front too??
U kept the radio stock just changed the speakers right?
does this work if you have the bose audio package?
Did you find out this answer I have bose And don't want to tear it apart if it's not going to work right
@@tylerbartley86 It works but have to get the 5.25 inch size speaker. Fit perfect in my back doors.
@@tylerbartley86 Also, you will not be blown away by the sound or loudness. I got the Infinity reference and it sounds good but not super great. Wonder if the kicker speakers would sound better/louder...
I take those old speakers if you don't want them
What brutes be here today I had 04 up until 3 months ago now I have another 04 trailblazer and my goodness the sound system is awful compared to the last 04 I Think the 04 had a Bose sound system speakers in it and it was satisfying but in This new 04 I'm dying to change the speakers so I'm hoping this will Help me out!!!
Chinese newspaper speakers aka bose...
Got an aftermarket radio, anyone know how I can get the bing bong back, or put a bing bong from a newer chevy
You'll need an interface and a chime module, for what car is it?
Hey all I have is audio no picture just u talking in the dark😀
Haha! my stupid phone soon as I back out I got picture sorry about that.
You got me worried for a second..
Yea sorry about that my phone sometimes goes goofy 😂
replaced my front 02 envoy ones today. the worst paper mexico made junk i ever seen.
I'm guessing that 05 didn't have the Bose factory system. . 😆
Even the Bose system sucks
@@poncho828 hey, I do agree with you on this.
Does not fit 2005 trailblazer had to drill new holes into factory door bracket for them to fit in
He sounds similar to another UA-camr, soundman
👍👍👍
Worst speaker ever? You've obviously never owned a pre-1980's car with a standard AM radio, LOL!
Stop calling you’re SUV a truck! Dear god!
what's the issue
@@zoneb609 I'm not sure what you're issue is. Dont ask me.
Those envoys are built on a truck frame.
Mine is an XUV. Much different. When the Electric roof moves forward, it becomes a truck. It can haul loads of topsoil, get washed out with a hose, then be converted in 2 minutes to haul 4x8' sheets of plywood. Then put a refrigerator in, STANDING UP...
the Chassis is a truck frame - same as the Colorado.
