Shelby Cobra vs Z06 Chevy C5 Corvette Drag Race Quarter Mile
This was filmed at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison Colorado.

I can just about guarantee that's a kit car , there were a couple Cobras built that were drag cars they had 289 in them .I can just about guarantee no one is going to drag race a million dollar Cobra on a drag strip .
That's the best filmed 1/4 mile drag I've seen. Could have been a few seconds longer though. Not much time to read the results. Nonetheless very good. Especially since the best car won!

Kit cars can be made to smoke lots of cars.
@@justme307 That's right....ANY engine you want. From 350 HP up to over 1000 HP I've seen. Kit cars are cool and come in many body styles of old super performance cars, so you can get about any style you want. I just didn't want to build one, so I bought one already done. I had to correct a lot of stuff, but it's bullet-proof for the road. The track is a different story.....
Something is wrong with those trap speeds/times. My 1999 C5 Corvette auto trans with the optional 3.15 axle does the 1/4 at 107.23 mph and 13.312 sec. and I know a Zo6 would blow my doors off. That trap time/speed for the Cobra is way off too, Cobra's are a heck of a lot faster than what this Cobra showed. Both of those cars must have been running Dodge Hemi engines in them to be that slow.
You just can't beat the 1800 pound car with the massive American motor

Something is wrong here, I've seen Cobras scoot down the track in under11, and I have a C5 Corvette (350 hp) with the 3.15 optional axle that can do 13.3 at 109, that Z06 has 405 factory hp, must be the thin air but again those cars should have been set up to run in that thin air.
Yes, don't think that Cobra motor is a Ford, (didn't sound like one) and that Vette is a lot faster than that.

That's a slow z06... At Bandimere Speedway outside of Denver where its over a mile high elevation that 12.2 ET is good, because at sea level that would be an 11.2.

I stopped this video at 0:18 seconds knowing the Cobra will crush this Vette! The Cobra weighs about 2350 lbs and has about 700 hp. The Vette weighs 3500 lbs and has around 500 hp! No contest. I did watch it and was right!
It looks like a Grand Sport, not a Z06, but can't tell for sure. But he can't drive for sure. My bone stock 2002 Z06, same as this one, would make 12.3 laps all night long on street tires.
It has the FRC roof and the correct placement of the call-out on the front fender, looks like a Z06 to me.

Being a C5 Corvette owner I know the Z06 can kick butt, but not a "snakes" butt, regardless how the Z06 is set up. Cobra = hp to weight advantage.
