      You need parents or someone else to pay for your college then after you get your degree give you a small trust fund of 100k to start your business. Then you can build it up "all by yourself" like lots of people do. But make sure your story is that you did it all yourself, that parts important.

    • @RealJamieBarclay
      @RealJamieBarclay 2 роки тому +1

      @@Trahzy I mean anyone can start a service based business for free, you can literally go from nothing to millionaire without any kind of investment or trust fund. If you were really stuck on your own, just don't go to college, get a job to pay bills, and start any kind of service business, either online or in person, then scale as you get customers and make money.

    • @Trahzy
      @Trahzy 2 роки тому +2

      @@RealJamieBarclay Yes, it's possible. But very unlikely. If it were just as easy as "start a business bro and you'll be a millionaire" anyone with an IQ of barely 100 would be rich. Some do make it there from nothing, but the majority of young millionaires especially had privileged scenarios that without they wouldn't be nearly as rich. They just don't like to admit it for obvious reasons lmao.

    Another concept for breaking the rat race is property investment. My boyfriend currently is doing this. While in the rat race for 10 ish years focus on passive income on top of a steady stream. Having properties you can rent out such as duplexes, homes, apartments, etc. and gaining more properties to have that passive income come in as you re-save and reinvest it.

    You are encouraging risk taking on assymetrical bets and non-solid venues without emphasizing that for any one person of those "legendary investors" you've read about there were hundreds of thousands who tried the same and failed.
    Nothing guarantees you success in Crypto, in a Single Stock, in Options or more. You could fail once, twice, three times - but in reality, in the investing and percentage game, the number of times you fail doesn't get you closer to success, like in gambling. It's not "the 5th one is free".
    Always invest in ETFs.
    The 1K USD you lost - by the time you're 40 it could've been a 15K USD if you invested it in ETFs.

      Most often by the time regular non-professionals have found them, the share price is already at the point where it's no longer an asymmetrical bet. Maybe it was one month before then. He's preaching a pipe dream.

    • @WeebFitness
      @WeebFitness 3 роки тому

      @@clickbaitpro it's very difficult to judge absolute percentages of winning these "education gambles". Whether or not the expected return is favourable, it would be wise to seriously consider the motives of the peddler. I agree with you that regular gambling, say at a casino, is inherently a bad bet if you're there to make money. They wouldn't be in business if you weren't expected to lose. That's why you should take care to also consider how your information benefits the informer.

    It's kind of a survivorship bias to point towards the high-risk investors who got lucky without mentioning the fate of those who guessed wrong. Those people are not famous though, because now they are nothing. It's like pointing to Bill Gates and saying "see, you don't need a formal education to be successful" and using that as justification for not going to university. Bill Gates is the exceptional case, not the typical one. So too is Warren Buffet, and other "Struck-it-rich" high-risk investors. Sure, high risk means a high reward if the risk pays off, but it also means a big loss if it doesn't, and a very real probability. You can't just mimic the actions of those who got lucky and assume that if you follow their method you will have the same fate. That's not how probability works. Are you feeling lucky?

    If you're more risk averse, then increasing your active income and leaning towards safer bets is doable. I think that's easier if you already like your job or field though. I'll probably hit FI around 35 and don't have to give much attention to it because I love my job. So, I've been able to get promotions and increase the amount I'm investing in a relatively safe manner.

    Using chess as an analogy:
    Making Asymmetrical bets is the process of trying to gain an advantage (like a piece or a position)
    While Diversification is the process of making sure that advantage you gain remains as the game (aka life) progresses.
