    Prime example, I had no jeans and I wanted 4 pairs because I enjoy wearing them. I went into the mall and the cheapest I could find was $55 per pair (total $220 for 4 pairs), I went to St Vincent de Paul and paid $36 for 4 pairs that were in good condition and fit me perfectly, plus they had been broken in already so I got to skip that horrible stiff new jeans faze 😊

    ...but if EVERYONE left their day job, how would the economy function? If you create a business, is it possible to infinitely scale it without expecting others to work for you? Our economy depends on consumerism. So what happens if people stopped buying stuff? Is it just that a certain group of people should improve while others stay in the rut to drive the economy? How do we reduce wealth inequality?

    “don’t trade your time for money” is the most generic trash advice ever. it’s why there’s so many youtubers and influencers who’s lives are going nowhere. For the few that make it it’s great but the vast majority of people who take that advice fail because to become an entrepreneur u still have to trade a significant amount of time but there’s no guarantee you’ll get any money in return

    There's nothing worse than the word 'deserve' in adverts. "Get the house/car/holiday you deserve."
    I'm trying to use things until they break more recently. But then you end up with another question. How broken does something have to be before you replace it? I've got an ancient microwave that is usually fine, but every now and again, you'll put something on for 2 minutes only to find that all it's done is spin it around for 2 minutes and it's as cold as it was when you put it in.

    Again stop suggesting people subscribe to “help you out.” That’s beggar mentality and tends to devalue your work. People subscribe because of getting value, not out of charity.

    • @waleedabdulrab8779
      @waleedabdulrab8779 Рік тому +8

      You never know. Sometimes, people watch content and derive value from it, but they simply forget to subscribe. I know, because it’s something that happens to me occasionally. There's nothing wrong with politely asking. After all, closed mouths don’t get fed. Those who may have forgotten to subscribe could actually benefit more in the long run because the videos will be recommended to them more frequently. If the content doesn't provide enough value, they have the option to unsubscribe. Therefore, I don't see any problem with making a request like this.

    One of the most important things younger people in the USA don't always grok is the importance of good health insurance, which in the USA is *heavily* tied to employment. When you're self-employed in the USA, you are entirely on the hook for your own health insurance, and that can be a substantial cost which many skimp on because young people usually feel invincible. Medical expenses directly cause 66.5% of bankruptcies in the United States.

    I don't know why but this video made me feel a lot of things that I think are pretty important but not from the main topic. I think the idea of always improving and learning new skills is more or less the most important thing there is in non-family life.
    After receiving a written warning at work last week for dubious reasons (they said a lot of words, I think most of them are incorrect and can in quite a few cases objectively disprove them) and losing any semblance of job security and thus my dream of buying a house for the foreseeable future (we had actually made it, we had enough for a 20% down on a very nice house saved, it's actually heartbreaking) I am back at the looking for a new job state. I had been comfortably at that company for many years and there are many new things to learn to be marketable compared to my peers now that I should have been keeping up with while having a cushy job.
    You can never get wasted time back, it's tragic but true.

We certainly are taught in school that education is key to monetary success and this thinking gets reinforced by parents and teachers. So, small wonder we're not a bunch of entrepreneurs. Good points to put into practice!

So interesting and really makes you think twice when you’re desperate to purchase something. I always ask myself why so I want it so badly and the answer always boils down to the fact that I’ve been mentally trained to think I need it.
