  • Titanium: that wonderful material that's as strong as steel but 45% lighter. Whatever our needs, when creating our Everyday Carry kits, finding the perfect balance between utility and budget is key, and in this video, I compare a $650 vs $6,500 COMPLETE EDC kit, both following the same theme: titanium titanium "titanium" everyday carry.

Titanium is one of those materials that so many people love to incorporate as part of their EDC loadouts because for Everyday Carry - real everyday use - it's often awesome to reduce weight where we can, and with titanium being as strong as steel, but 45% lighter, it's often a no-brainer.
Unfortunately, titanium also typically carries a premium price - often waaaay more than steel or aluminum counterparts, so it's always great to find budget-friendly alternatives that still choose to manufacture using this awesome material.
I'm curious: what are YOU thinking of getting next when it comes to Titanium? And I'd love to hear any ideas you have for future videos in this series - comparing two complete everyday carry kits of the same theme, but at a huge price difference.

Really enjoying this series of videos. It’s a great way to compare items across a wide range of prices. And you get to explore more items, ones you might not carry yourself, but which match your chosen theme. (Which I think is another key to the quality of these videos, picking an interesting _and different_ theme each time.)

Love these videos but I don’t like the fact that a single item can make such a drastic change. Could we have a video where each i team is able to make an impact? Instead of the watch being nearly 5K alone

I think a lot of people miss one of the great things about the Tini2 is, that you can use it while charging. So, you can use it while being hooked to a power bank.
Btw, the Tini2 is my favorite item in this kit.

With the Ridge, if you push the cards out through the thumb slot, and pinch the bottom it fans the cards. Easy Peasy.

Great kits on both sides! Definitely pieces in there I’d consider when looking for EDC stuff next time. Especially the cheaper knife sticks out for a German viewer as one handed opening is not allowed over here. Also love the fact that the Oceanus line from Casio gets some love… and the Snowflake, well, wow. Out of reach for me at the moment, but just gorgeous - although I’d love to see a new version with the spring drive indicator on the back like on some of their new releases.

I own the Tactile Turn Bolt Action pen and I agree it’s absolutely fantastic. Comes with a Pilot G2 0.7mm which means you can find refills everywhere and they’re very cheap. If you want to customize, it’s also compatible with various other refills too. The fine grooves that run along the body of the pen make for a wonderful grip, as opposed to the slick surface of many other machined pens. Definitely a thumbs up from me and would recommend. The team that makes them seems really cool too, and I like that they do everything in house in the US.

I own the Oceanus. The seconds hand always aligns with the indices. The anti reflective coating is amazing, allowing the blue highlights of the indices to glisten. I only wish the button ( required) wasn't there.
Also, the bracelet is integrated so a perfect fit maybe hard - there's similar models if you don't want to risk the return to Japan.
For a titanium field watch, there's some from Citizen in the $€£000s ( the Grand Seiko is gorgeous though..delicious..amazing.....).

I've been carrying a Ridge wallet for years, and got my family some as well. We never take out all our cards to get one. Simply push them up a little and pinch, they kinda "wave" out and you can pick out the one you need. You do need the stronger Ridges though (Titanium, Carbon, ...), a friend has a "normal" Ridge, but the coat wore of really quickly, while my Carbon one looks almost as good as the day I got it.

Had my sebenza for a year now and I’ve got to say that’s my end game knife. It’s definitely not a self defense type of knife or a high action one handed fidget knife, but more of a “utilitarian tool to accompany the rest of your kit” type of knife. Great choices and while I like my tactile turn pen ….I still prefer my premium pens like my Mont Blanc Meisterstuck. Great video!

I bought the ridge wallet for its simplicity and how it does not take up much space. Unfortunately the one I bought has 1-2 screws that were screwed so it was difficult taking it out. So I ended up purchasing a wallet from esket, which honestly was the best choice for me.

The Keysmart is the one that caught my eye here. Like you Maurice, I'm not a fan of hard wallets. A Ti pen would be a bit cool, but I'd rather carry the Walnut pen, or the Denim pen, or the Cocobolo pen that I made myself. The watches were mildly interesting, especially that flow of the Seiko, but I don't wear a watch so....
And for lights, well, I gotta admit, I'm am hankerin' for a Ti torch. Neither of those lights me up, but I think I know which one I goes into contention for "birthday splurge". On the knives, that Urban Trapper is already on my Want List. It WAS going to be my first Ti knife, but I found a killer deal on the OTHER Ti knife that's been on my list for a while, so the Ferrum Forge Gent arrived at my doorstep Tuesday.
    love your presentation.
