Commandos 2: Men of Courage is a definitive World War II real-time strategy and tactics game released by Eidos Interactive and Pyro Studios, and it is probably my favourite PC game of all time. Some of the missions in the game were inspired by famous WW2 movies. This is my full gameplay walkthrough with commentary of Level 10, Is Paris Burning, which can serve as a guide for how to successfully complete the level.
Level Plot: In August 1944, the commandos have completed a daring mission to Colditz Castle, where they acquired top secret documents from three high-ranking German officers revealing plans to devastate Paris with planted explosives before it is liberated. The entire commando corps, consisting of Jack O'Hara, Sir Francis T Woolridge, James Blackwood, Thomas Hancock, Samuel Brooklyn, Rene Duchamp, Paul Toledo, Natasha Nikochevski and Whiskey the dog, all arrive in Paris. They must thwart the plans to destroy much of the city by disabling a bomb detonator in the Nazi general's office, before leaving in an airship from top of the Eiffel Tower.
The game sees players taking control of a squad of commandos (Green Beret, Sniper, Diver, Sapper, Driver, Spy, Thief, and Natasha) along with various allied units, as they sneak behind enemy lines to accomplish various missions in World War II, between 1941 and 1944, that will help them to thwart the war efforts of the Germans and the Japanese. The game also has an incredible music soundtrack by Mateo Pascual.
This is the original release of the game, currently available on Steam. I will also be reviewing the 2020 HD remaster soon.

2:41 the metro station being named "Bir Hakeim" is an anachronism. During WW2 (and before then) it was named "Quai de Grennelle". It was renamed in 1949(!) to "Bir Hakeim" in memory of the 1942 North African battle where the free French forces fought against the Germans. So yeah....😄

The dog can be used for transferring things quickly from one man to another... Also, it can be used like the thief's rat for distracting enemies...

@@SteveRamsdenUA-cam I used to wear officer uniforms just to walk around and roleplay without doing any objectives. Castle Colditz was so good for that.
In Commandos 2 HD remaster it is not possible to wear the uniform patrolman.
Get sapper and tread into the idle tank; use tank to eliminate the patrols
Hi Steve, I loved watching your series on Commandos II: Men of Courage (due to the excellent commentary) - it's a great game, one I have played a lot when I was younger. Have you also played Commandos III: Destination Berlin? That one plays less well in my opinion, although the missions/scenarios themselves are quite nice.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes I played it years ago when it came out, again I preferred 2 to 3, but I did play it at least once.
The dog is also good for transporting items.

best way to get the sapper and tread to the idle tank is to have the spy get in the truck then sapper and tread; drive up to tank. Important to put spy in truck first so he drives and doesn't get any attention.
Hi Steve, how do you manage to rotate the view 360 degrees? I can only switch to 4 points of view. Thanks!
On Windows, using Alt+Arrow keys does the trick (only for indoor)
same here, 360 is only working inside buildings, not outside

On ps4 u can talk to patrols with the spy. Get sapper to put a timer bomb next to them then move spy away with last couple of seconds left.

After taking lift on tower first, I couldn't see any enemy, they are hidden and even spy is not visible. Why this is happening?

I have try to play this map , its night map. Don't know what's wrong with my game 😀
So many bugs in this game on PlayStation 4, now i can't get the buttons on the controller to work. Reload, reload and reload if the savegames work 😅
Maybe better on the PC!

Yes, it works when you play, i can hear your mouse klikking. I can knok down an soldier and in the first 5 missions, i could just stand over the knoked out soldier. Now i have to walk 360 around the knoked out soldier to make those comandoes highlighting 😅👈
When i got in to the water plane in The Guns Of.....the plane got lost at the ending seene. If i kill a soldier and dont pick him up he could stand up if i reload the game but still is dead.

I just got into the tank and emptied the rest of the map
Ps4 version is so glitchy. Even with the sapper and tge driver in the tank it wont fire a single shell. So i was forced to just run over everyone
