Commandos 2: Men of Courage is a definitive World War II real-time strategy and tactics game released by Eidos Interactive and Pyro Studios, and it is probably my favourite PC game of all time. This is my full gameplay walkthrough with commentary of Level 4, Target Burma, which can serve as a guide for how to successfully complete the level. It also includes my method of setting a trap for the Japanese 'Tyrant' and carrying out a perfect assassination and ambush at the end!
Level Plot: In 1942, commandos Jack O'Hara, Paul Toledo, Francis T Woolridge and Samuel Brooklyn are deployed to the Pacific Theatre. In Burma, they rescue a spiritual leader and assassinate a Japanese tyrant with the help of Gurkhas, in a small town with a giant Buddha statue.
The game sees players taking control of a squad of commandos (Green Beret, Sniper, Diver, Sapper, Driver, Spy, Thief, and Natasha) along with various allied units, as they sneak behind enemy lines to accomplish various missions in World War II, between 1941 and 1944, that will help them to thwart the war efforts of the Germans and the Japanese. The game also has an incredible music soundtrack by Mateo Pascual.
This is the original release of the game, currently available on Steam. I will also be reviewing the 2020 HD remaster soon.

So nostalgic. The music in this game was so good.

I used to play it when i was in high school back in 1998. It was best strategy game ever and still is, I finished commandos 1, 2 and 3 destination berlin, and strike force many times. The good old days. Best music, and best gaming company. SIGH.
For a more minimalist playthrough, you can put the sniper up a pole, call the guy on the radio, snipe him when he's in the car, drop sniper from the pole, then charge to the boat!
Mate, you've brought me back to when I was 10. I remember the graphics being outstanding back then and honestly they haven't dated badly at all IMHO.

I live in burma / myanmar and the japanese attacked us and we cant cook rice because the smoke will show up in sky and the japanese will know that were here and we eat rice without cooking And few year /week / month later The us army and british army save burma cant say more Because the story is long, great vid!

Indian troops saved Burma (former part of India), not the westerners, my fellow brother in Buddha.

I had a totally different ending. As soon as I start killing the Tirants men etc. All the soldiers that I tied up magically were untied and started running all over the map 💀
When you tie enemies up, take off their uniform so if they do get untied, they run away.
@@NxthxNwz some of them had their uniforms and weapons but they were just running around like ants and didnt do anything to us. Probably some glitch or something
It's a chain reacton, as soon as they find one, they will untie all of em

28:53 I always wanted a way to tell 2 commanos to knock out or shoot 2 enemies simultaneously, cordinated moves.
"perform this action (knock out this enemy) once this happens (this other enemy has been attacked)"
Or "plan this action and and at the push of a button will perform it"

Mouse plays an Important Role in Castle Colditz Mission as Well
I guess I always made this harder for myself. I didn't know you could intercept the Tyrant and his group on the bridge, so I'd always wait for them to form in front of the statue, get the Tyrant to leave the car and then snipe him, at the same time I get a Molotov on some of the guys. From there on is chaos and it gets quite difficult to escape. I still don't know which was the dev intended way to do that last bit of the mission.

Hi steve, one more thing, when using the sniper & thief and while onthe best knocker is thief while croping up The Enemy in order to steal. The best.
What mods did you use for Commandos 2? graphic?
Its a remastered version of 2001 Commando 2 I think.

Can we heal a dead Comando or is it only in some levels?
You can keep playing but not sure if you can finish the level - maybe on the easy setting though
@@SteveRamsdenUA-cam i healed one in White Death and got throu. But in Target Burma i lost one comando and here i could not heal him. (Wtf)
