I actually recently rewatched all three DOAWK movies after i saw Devon Bostick in The 100. (He plays Jasper) I've watched Dog Days in the past but not the other two.
In dog days, they came to good terms with each other and acted real siblings despite Rodrick being a lying detector to Greg and it’s silly Rodrick gotten so much bad luck within that movie and Greg hugs Rodrick and Rodrick feels weirded out about it, but when Greg does Rodrick a favor, Rodrick gives him a hug
One detail I noticed is that Greg and Rodrick seem to get along with each other a bit better in the third and last movie. A great bit of continuity, since the main plot of the second movie was based on them learning to get along with each other.
He seemed really mean as a kid but he’s really a just a normal, slightly-annoying older brother. If anything, knowing Greg’s sociopathic tendencies he kinda seems like a better person, even if he might be a bit dense.

Some people have siblings that they absolutely hate and don't talk to, some have really amazing siblings that they love a lot, and some have a relationship in the middle where they love each other but fight a lot. Just for me personally, and most people who I've talked to, the sibling relationship in the movie is realistic and relatable.
As kids we like and wanna be like Greg. As teens we understand how Rodrick is just a normal teen trying to have a life as a drummer. But no matter the age, we will always hate Manny.

My brother and I never fight/tease each other but I’ve come to realize that’s super rare- so I love the realistic dynamic they have for these two
I feel like it’s a little bit unrealistic... I used to argue with my brother a lot but it wasn’t like this. No one was bullying anyone like making the other smell the armpits or farting in each other’s faces...He would snap and get irritated with me and I would snap back and huge argument would then ensue...Idk. We didn’t do gross things like this much. Maybe my siblings are different?

Well everyone's experience is different. Some people have siblings that they absolutely hate and don't talk to, some have really amazing siblings that they love a lot, and some have a relationship in the middle where they love each other but fight a lot. Just for me personally, and most people who I've talked to, the sibling relationship in the movie is realistic and relatable.
