- Welcome to the M0OGY Radio and Antenna Review of the President Lincoln II + tranceiver.
Whilst this radio is marketed as a dual band Amateur Radio,
The vast majority will end up on the 11 meter band.
DISCLAIMER......please be aware it is illegal to use this radio on 11 meters and the Citizens' Band Radio frequencies.
You do so at your own risk.
I always try and show how the radio receives on the band many say they are intended for, to conclude my review.
I hope you have enjoyed this three part review and I will carry out further On Air tests when the propagation allows.
Please feel free to add your comments below.

Great video Dave but a suggestion for you.I would love to see future comparisons between these new style radios and old style, say a cobra 148 gtl dx just to show people what the real deal is, is new technology better than old
Thanks Dave, again to my ears a slight raspy sound on the stronger signals much like the earlier versions but definitely better.
Yes I agree, but it is the best yet Delboy
Thanks for the upload Dave . Compared to the Mk1 Lincoln and President George. Not my bag.. Just me mate. I still use a Teaberry Stalker 9 to monitor receive on 11m Nothing better.. 10m is dead where I live. Until solar cycle 25.. Fingers crossed. Also not a big fan of surface mounted PCB..The adjustments and trimmers are very ball park..73s HS0ZOU.
Hello m0ogy i am looking into going back to CB and SSB with the intention of going for ham novice in the near future but I have a lot of houses very close and wonder if you could help me if we are using analog whether AM or FM would they interfere with a digital TV. Thanks in advance Charlie
I got my last week is a great radio, I also have Anytone AT-5555N and Anytone AT-6666, Ranger 2950, all the radios transmit on the 11-meter band.
THREE CHEERS FOR RADIO WORLD, ON PRESIDENT LINCOLN 2V +!!!
Is the receive any better than V3 and do you think it's worth upgrading? I'm glad they changed the emergency button from 9/19 to 1/2, the 9/19 made it look cheep.
In your view dave which radio would u recommend the grant 2 or the Lincoln 2 and would it b possible to still get a a Shakespeare super big stick
Where's the link for the software? Is the software mod the same when you punch it in manually "cbpll 012345"
Hey folks, would you say it be best to run the POWER line straight from the battery.? and what about the NEGATIVE...just ground it ? I have it powered by the cig. lighter outlet/12v. port and I get a lot of noise.....HELP
Mine is straight to the battery on ps and negative and the noise to signal ratio is terrible
agree and raspy on rx but it would be nice to see it on uk40 as that freq seems to drag all the noise in or is it better now
UK40.....next weekends tests then Stephen!
thank you
Hello is the President Lincoln + a narrow, or wide banded radio? If so how wide is it? Thank you
buy it from radioworld & they will sell you the wideband version for an extra 15 quid....dunno how wide tho?
Uniden made Dave?
first off, thank you for your videos. Now I just got one of these 2 weeks ago. I must say it's a major disappointment.Terribly distorted receive, low modulation and output. Noisey, all around a waste of my hard earned money. Plus way over priced, they're a $100 usd radio at best for sure not worth the $349 usd they ask for them. I will stick with my at-6666 that costs $150 usd less and outperforms these 10 to 1...Anyhow keep up the great videos..thank you
got to agree with you on the receive it is really harsh, however i get great audio and modulation from mine with either the stock mic or a rf limited 2018. Plenty of power and settings to mess with, plus it is easy to jump around the frequencies. still not worth the price tag. I will take the receive from my old Uniden anyday over the Lincoln 2s.
Indrid Cold that’s how is is where I live. Totally dead... until I drove up a mountain and the band comes alive... check out my vids from Mt Diablo
Hi, how to do t'his modeficatien. Thank s 73
Sorry Ronald I'm not prepared to make it public
@RonaldCallewaert There are instructions on how to do the mod on the internet and UA-cam. Google is your friend. It is an easy one as always! I hope that helps you! 73!
where did you get the info for the export mode
I have a special knack of working things out, in the main
may u please tell me, how to export the lincoln 2 + ?
Thanks for your response, I am helped herewith.
Kind regards from Belgium
Dave how do you open up to use on the 11 mtr band
You add a 1k resistor to the open spot where it looks like it is missing one lol
Then do a system reset
Rx sounds a bit noisy and muddy. Prefer my Anytone 5555N.
😲 $400.00. Can buy it all day long for $239 - 279.00 in U.S.A
very nice radio , I just cant see me spending $400 for it , lets hope the price will drop soon .
Well in the United Kingdom it is going to cost £249.00
not bad just cant see this big mark up in the USA , you can get a good working ham radio for less , couple months ago I got a ft 757 gx11 for $ 225 , I put an extra $75 into it now I can cover all the ham bands for less than the price for Lincoln 11 + , I do like the radio I will just wait till all this crazy new price tag come back to reality .
It really sounds crap, OMG ! My Grant PC999AD sounds way better, no comparison! Result: I keep my vintage Grant from the 90s. :)
