Wow, this video blew me away. My wife heard me playing this video and came to see who it was as she was involved in the London music business in the 1960's and heard lots of good and some so so. She was one of the first hand models in London and was shot by all the famous photographers of the day. Such a talent you are in both pursuits. Thanks for this video.
Well, I didn’t have Alan Schaller shreds on my Thursday bingo card, but this was a pleasant surprise. Looks like a very cool guitar. And nice playing, of course.
Alan, I could watch and listen to your playing all day long just as much as I could look at your photographs. Incredible skill backed by incredible hard work. I‘m also a guitar player and got into photography some years ago. Pursuing music/guitar and photography just go so well together.
This is just amazing, Alan you are the second photographer of my acquaintance, (using that term loosely in your case) who has revealed an uncommon musical talent this week. I am blown away by this!
Now it's clear why you're such a talented photographer. Music provides you with the analytical thinking and the necessary tools to view life from another perspective, more abstract, so to speak, while also teaching you the importance of always being structured and following patterns; without that, there is no music.
You know, when I visited the exhibition at Leica in Wetzlar with Andrew Summers' photographs, my first thought was, why are some people blessed with so many talents? And now you're coming around the corner with this video. My talent is limited, but I'm passionate about it. A small consolation. Great video. Thanks for your inspiration.
You are absolutely my favorite contemporary photographer and a huge influence. I’m also a guitarist and have been interested in Strandberg for a while, but a P90 version with two volumes and a master tone would be ideal. Thanks for the inspiration, in both worlds.
Wow. I already thought of you as one of the best photographers shooting today. Now I have to be blown away by your guitar chops?! Unfair to have so much talent in one person! Very well done, Alan. Chapeau
I stumbled upon you yesterday and really, really enjoy your photography and humour. I happen to be a guitar player myself, and music is a big hobby, a big part of my life. So seeing we share both passions is just fantastic. Glad I stumbled upon this channel.
Hi, just to thank you, you did not made it in purpose but you have light the way for me to step up my photography a lot in a short time. Inspiring photographer, your book on my shelf. And now guitarist what amaze me since i am making guitars as a hobby.
Inspiration from photography to music "Your guitar playing is smooth awesomeness (not sure if that is an actual word) my fav professional Black and white photographer ..
Awesome. You are a great inspiration. I am a doctor by trade but photographer and guitar player at heart. If anyone asks me about my artistic vision, I always pulling up your work first. And now finding out your passion for Strandbergs just tops that. I have 4 already. If I can find this one to purchase, it will be my fifth.
Hi Alan, Andrew here in Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦, originally from the uk. 2 things I want to say to you, 1st your photography is awesome and inspires me immensely and I love the teaching element in the UA-cam videos, thank you. 2nd, this video and your guitar work was equally awesome. Thank you for sharing and if you put together an album I will be buying it😀 Thank you Cheers Andrew
Ok incredible. I was already a fan being a professional photographer myself, but now even more being a guitarist player too, my first love 🤩 Incredibely beautiful sound !
Amazing playing and tone Alan! Such a treat you shared this side of yourself with us. I love your photography and related content, but am definitely interested in hearing more. Thanks again!
Reading the introduction of your book I already knew that you were in interested in music and spend lots of time with this profession before. And here is the proof. A man with a lot of talents! It's really nice to hear you play. Thanks for your videos and greetings from Germany.
If your music scores were nearly as good as your photos, then I don't know if the world can handle it! (smile). ...you are tremendously blessed. I've followed your photography for a few years...saw your first UA-cam interview on someone else's channel. I thought, some of his photos are surreal. Keep the fingers oiled-up...you need them for your camera and guitar! Cheers!
Alan, glad you shared a music vid with us. The Strandberg sounds lovely and I love the design (I've played Strat's for years). After reading about your "first" career in the music biz it was cool to see you in action. This video was quite candid and natural compared to the photo series (i.e., no acting). I hope that you'll do more pure music videos going forward, and of course, any time there is new photography I am very excited. My dad was Frank Sinatra's sax player, and he loved photography. We had many discussions growing up about how the two arts are intertwined. I wish he was alive to see your work. He would have loved the musicality, and rhythm of your images
Incredible sound from such a light guitar. Always was interested in hearing your music. Well done! And wow what a collection of guitars you have. I have my dads old 1973 es 335 walnut.
What a beautiful guitar! Your style took me back to listening to Hendrix with a whisky on a summer evening. I’ve not been cast back like that for a while👏
Wow! Ascribing the word talented to a photographer, I think can be wholly subjective and I do like your photographs. Listening to you play that great sounding guitar I can hear your talent without a doubt.
Congratulations. The guitar sounds great, as does the player. Amazing how many photographers play guitar, or is it guitarists who are serious photographers? Ralph Gibson, Andy Summers, I believe Alec Soth plays, Ted Forbes, yours truly. I often see guitars in the background of UA-camr videos. Interesting.
Saludos desde Costa Rica Allan, me encanta tu foto y ahora también me encanta tu tono!! Escribo en español para que todos sepan que sos mundialmente famoso ;)
Oh my god... what next.... Schaller for PM.... talk about overdosing on talent.. truly tremendous... I only wish your dad had been friendly with my mum and then I too would be so multi talented.... wink wink... such an amazing person... Thank you Alan for showing us this... BR... Yoki...
We know your passion is black + white but PLEASE incorporate some of your guitar work into your videos. That melody, sound and rhythm from the Strandberg is absolutely sublime. Treat us disciples. PeterB
Unfair distribution of talent! I would be happy to do either guitar or photography well. Amazing Alan and Ola!
I was about to say the exact same thing.
I totally agree 100 percent
Amen
In germany we would say: "Der Teufel scheißt immer auf den größten Haufen"
I had no idea what to expect. And boy oh boy was I blown away.

Wow! I want to hear more, I hope you’ll incorporate some guitar playing in your upcoming videos. You are one creative person, but you know that. 😉
So many photographers of note also were musicians. How did I not know this about you. Spectacular sound and a lovely, lovely instrument. Bravo!
This is just amazing, Alan you are the second photographer of my acquaintance, (using that term loosely in your case) who has revealed an uncommon musical talent this week. I am blown away by this!

Yes, all that and rhythm. Which I think makes for successful visual stories.
Musician/guitarist/photographer. I knew it, what a combination! Love your videos (and photos)
Looking forward seeing your next shots 📷
The tone of this guitar was superb, and so was your guitar playing.
wow Alan you are a real Artist with the "A". Amazing
Who knew you were such a cool guitar player as well. Don't go giving up the photography side please!
Thanks! No way I’m giving up on the camera!
Glad to hear that 😅 But in case you ever are also in the mood to release a guitar Musik album I very likely would order one.
Super talented. Very impressed
guitar play from Alan is as superb as his photography
Omg! That was so good! My respect towards you keeps on increasing every day man!!

Totally unexpected! You excel in both sir!
You are absolutely my favorite contemporary photographer and a huge influence. I’m also a guitarist and have been interested in Strandberg for a while, but a P90 version with two volumes and a master tone would be ideal. Thanks for the inspiration, in both worlds.
That’s great to hear thank you. The P90s and ash body sound really sweet together

I’m amazed!! Such cool guitar playing. Loved it
What a beautiful guitar
Lovely combo isn't it, photography and music. They go very well together as creative outlets. Great chops :)
Hi Alan. As a photographer and drummer, I enjoyed listening and watching this. Impressive!
That was amazing!!! Love your photography, and your music is beautiful too! I hope you will continue sharing both. Well done.
Fantastic combo! Strandberg / Schaller

Really nice guitar playing and sound. More photography vids please 😊
I am very wary of photographers who don't like Music, you've just got to number 1 in the charts.
Amazing 📷🎸
