Carl Weathers goofed in his dialogue and they kept it in the movie. He called his trainer TONY, the actor's first name, instead of Duke, the character's name.
The character was eventually canonically named Tony "Duke" Evers, thus Weathers' flub came in handy in _Rocky V,_ where they introduce another character named Duke, and refer to the original Duke as Tony to avoid confusion.
O.K., I have to promote Cinderella Man (2005), an amazing movie about a real boxer, set during the Great Depression, starring Russell Crowe. Almost no one reacts to it, but it's inspiring as hell.

Rocky II is a beautiful sequel movie. Part of Rock's character is he is not well educated and couldn't read very well, which kept him from getting a good job, or from acting in TV ads. We also see Rocky confuse some words, like condominium and condom, which was funny. Rocky has a very good heart and really cares for Adrian and doesn't even want to talk badly about Apollo. Since the fight took place in Rocky's home town, we see how much the people loved me too. Thank you this great movie reaction. 😊 🤩 😃
This is an excellent video. Many make a video where they almost just sit and watch the film. You really feel for it and that's a lot of fun to watch. I hope you do more reaction videos from Stallone (my favorite actor) movies. I would be glad. Greetings from Germany 👍😍
32.59 They're saying Apollo is well known worldwide, except for sub-fourth world countries where they don't know about the outside world. Like, Apollo is known in Spain, Mogadishu, Uzbekistan, Lithuania, etc. but they're not saying that he's also known in the Amazonian Rainforest where isolated tribes live and have no contact with professional sports.
I like to believe that this movie was made so people can see rocky win. Every reaction I've seen so far that watched the first one wanted rocky to win.
Rocky not using "condominiums" is how Rocky Jr comes along. What's more embarrassing than chasing a chicken? The chicken winning. Everyone worries about Rocky being late. Like they're going to start the fight without him?
@@DuaffyMS I only played team sports, so I have no idea of boxing rules on the topic, but they were in Philly and Rocky was the local hero. God help any official who tried to rule a forfeit. Great content, and I look forward to whatever you decide to do next.

Apollo didn't have a recording of the crowd cheering. That was in his head. He's hearing the crowd cheering him if he beats Rocky. That they'll love him if he wins. That's what drives him. The love of the crowd. Which is why the negative comments hurt him so bad.
If you liked this you should watch creed 1 and 2 as well It's like a spin off series where rocky is old and he's training apollo creeds son to become a boxer
If you notice he asked her to marry him in the ZOO & in the first movie The lone shark driver said Retards like the ZOO when he was talking bad about Adrian
That car is a 1979 Trans Am which along with the Z28 Camaro were very hot at that time. Also, don't worry about Apollo, Dueffy, he and Apollo will become Best Friends.
It's a fairly well-known phenomenon that those who grow up used to not having much money and suddenly have it, will spend extravagantly and then have not much money again. Mostly this comes up with lottery winners, but sudden sports stars too. Like (American) football players who were from poor backgrounds, then suddenly they're being paid millions of dollars right out of college. But then they get injured or cut from the team, and they didn't save any of the money.
it's sometimes frustrating watching a young people watch this movie. many just don't "get it" with how Rocky feels, things Mickey says to Rocky, Rocky & Mickey's relationship, Paulie, Apollo. I think maybe it's just a generational thing and how young people today never experienced the world as some of us older folk did.
I'm not sure what generation you're from. But, trust me, we're pretty much all the same. All of our experiences are different. And you'll never experience the world as the young people today experience it. I used to get mad at the older generation for all the ills of the world. It took me a few years, and some self-reflection to realize that's wrong. But, we're all the same, and should just be allies for one another. At the end of the day, we're all just trying to negotiate ourselves through this chaotic world as best we can. Then we die.
@@timlois It's hard to be allies when a specific generation actively campaigns against the interests of entire groups of people because of their race or sexual orientation. Not saying this guy is anything like that but it's very understandable and in some cases commendable for standing up against old, outdated, and hateful mindsets.
I mean. Rocky 2 is 40 years old. I grew up in the 80s and struggled with themes, expressions, etc when my grandparents would show me movies from the 40s. That's the same time interval between generations. Watching Rocky 2 for young people is similar to an 80s kid grasping all the jokes from a Marx Brothers movie. Some of it is hilarious. Some of it is obscure. Some of it is outright wrong by current social standards.
12:15 "How far did you go in high school, Mr. Balboa?" "Ninth." 😟 Oh, god! He dropped out in the _first year!_ Properly, high school takes _four_ years. This guy would have _no_ chance in the job market, nowadays. He would have no chance twenty _years_ ago. Has anyone, at any point, suggested that he get a GED? GED testing has been available in the US as far back as 1942. It seems to me that's the most useful change he could make for his career prospects.
@@mrtelevision Yes, although I didn't like her hairstyle there, she was still attractive. I wish she had been in the first, third and fifth episodes. And I wish he'd had more scenes in all of them.
21:30 I mean Apollo whooped Rockys ass in the first fight (and in the second too). It’snot like It was unfair that Apollo won. Apollo really was better.
No, you didn't misunderstand the conversation at the wedding. Rocky's former employer wanted him to invest in condominiums, or housing. Rocky thought he meant condoms. This implies that Rocky is simple-minded. And you're correct, Rocky isn't a boxer he's a street brawler. Anyone with even rudimentary training would have their hands up protecting their face. Rocky just stupidly walks into each punch.
When it comes to Rocky's fighting style in the ring. I'm no expert bit he does need to block the opponents punches. What Rocky has been doing is wearing out his opponent, making his opponent tired. Once his opponent is tired enough, Rocky moves in and starts beating the crap out of them. That's why Rocky doesn't throw that many punches at first.
As far as I know, a condominium is a privately owned 'apartment' that's in a building of similar or same privately owned apartments. So, these apartments are not owned by 'the state' as in 'projects' (U.S.) council housing (U.K.), or social housing (other). I suppose private owners of these individual apartments may choose to rent them out, if they've purchased the apartment with a view of investment.
@@tooluser is correct: It was a joke showing that Rocky isn't too ''world savvy'' and didn't know what a Condominium is and so miss understood what that guy meant (Actually, this movie made this joke famous as you could hear it repeated by many people throughout the 80s and it was even used on many TV shows and movies)
Fun watching your reaction. When these Rocky movies came out they dominated talk. The radio played the songs and you kept hoping for 1 more. Interesting fact, Adrian is Nicolas Cage's aunt.

Since the fight took place in Rocky's home town, we see how much the people loved me too. Thank you this great movie reaction. 😊 🤩 😃
And Puerto Rico!
I love the Rocky movies so much. Especially 1&2. But there are a bunch of people who love 3&4 the most.
Rocky is my favorite!!!!!!!
I like to believe that this movie was made so people can see rocky win. Every reaction I've seen so far that watched the first one wanted rocky to win.
Just throwing this out there... "Bedazzled" is an underrated romantic comedy. Starring Brendon Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley. Hilarious!
Rocky not using "condominiums" is how Rocky Jr comes along.
What's more embarrassing than chasing a chicken? The chicken winning.
Everyone worries about Rocky being late. Like they're going to start the fight without him?
In some sports, if you don't show up they declare the opponent as the winner. I guess that's why everybody was telling him to run, but I am not sure
@@DuaffyMS I only played team sports, so I have no idea of boxing rules on the topic, but they were in Philly and Rocky was the local hero. God help any official who tried to rule a forfeit. Great content, and I look forward to whatever you decide to do next.
Nice reaction, thank's!😊 PS: I can see behind you two faces 😉 On the right side from the written name of the movie. Between the hanging maple. An good Alien that looks nice. An a human in the future. 😉 What do you see? Best greets from ger. Sweet 😘
Apollo didn't have a recording of the crowd cheering. That was in his head. He's hearing the crowd cheering him if he beats Rocky. That they'll love him if he wins. That's what drives him. The love of the crowd. Which is why the negative comments hurt him so bad.
Thank you for clarifying! 🤗
If you liked this you should watch creed 1 and 2 as well
It's like a spin off series where rocky is old and he's training apollo creeds son to become a boxer
Waiting for the Rocky 3 🖤🖤🖤🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
Love your reactions
If you notice he asked her to marry him in the ZOO & in the first movie The lone shark driver said Retards like the ZOO when he was talking bad about Adrian
The 1992 Boxing 🥊 movie
" Gladiator " is also a extremely good underrated gem I'm surprised it doesn't have a reaction
@@nthsum5509 I know. That’s all I was saying. The older I get, the more I can see my elders frustration with me lol
not even million viewer content creators put this much effort in an ad. 👍
12:15 "How far did you go in high school, Mr. Balboa?"
"Ninth."
😟 Oh, god!
Right! I dropped out in 11th grade, got my GED and went to college and served in the US Army. I don't regret any of it one bit.
Great reaction. 🙏 I love it🥊🥊
Sylvia Meals, who plays Apollo's wife Marie Anne Creed in the film, is blooming beautiful! Sadly she died in 2011.
She reprised the role in Rocky IV
@@mrtelevision Yes, although I didn't like her hairstyle there, she was still attractive. I wish she had been in the first, third and fifth episodes. And I wish he'd had more scenes in all of them.
Amazing reaction!
21:30 I mean Apollo whooped Rockys ass in the first fight (and in the second too). It’snot like It was unfair that Apollo won. Apollo really was better.
Great reaction 🔥💯🌹💙❤💙
Rocky thought Grazo (the loanshark) was talking about CONDOMS.
Check out Cinderella Man (2005). Stars Russell Crowe and is a true story about a real boxer. Enjoy it.
Thanks for reaction
On to Rocky III, I hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
Fun watching your reaction. When these Rocky movies came out they dominated talk. The radio played the songs and you kept hoping for 1 more. Interesting fact, Adrian is Nicolas Cage's aunt.
No. Talia Shire is.
@@Jutrzen you do realize that's what I was saying.
@@bigp3006 No. Adrian is a fictional character. And since Paulie had no kids, she couldn't be anybody's aunt.
@@Jutrzen lol, Adrian was played by Talia Shire, it references who did what. Ever play connect the dots?
@@bigp3006 Adrian isn't Cahe's aunt. Talia Shire is. Just write it the correct way.
This was a very good movie, but as you said it starts slow. The 3rd movie was the best of the Rocky movies, you really need to see it.
"Why would you want that sort of phrase when you know it's not even true?"
I would give a great deal to have an autograph that said "to my good friend, Hiraghm - Duaffy" ... even though it's not true.
23:53 I wonder if anyone's ever actually been lowered into a boxing ring in a cage????/ You know, like the Missing Link from the old Vendetta arcade game????? :O
18:28 no it's not that he's not worthy. Rocky's dangerous, and Apollo's coach knows it. His fear is, if Apollo faces him again, he will lose.
And as we all know by now, he does. :)
Yes it *Condominium* is a small type of residence but Rocky mistake it for *Condom* & said I don't use them
5:54 the singer is Silvester's real brother
HI Duaffy, what was the name of the music playing at the end of this video while you were speaking... I really enjoy your videos... I am a new subscriber
Great movie, A coming of age Sport movie you should see which is based on a real story is Rudy. Also a great boxing You should see is Gladiator 1992. Rocky 3 is great but Rocky 4 is the best.
She already saw Gladiator. Check it out.
@@liljrice4867 No she did not I am not talking about the Russel Crow Gladiator 2000 movie which everyone react to. I am talking about Gladiator 1992 which is a boxing movie.
The third one is my favorite.
Rocky 2 was really got the franchise going. Rocky. 1 is a classic but bad rocky 2 failed it would jsut become another great Hollywood film that was a once in a lifetime success. Once you relaize how great the sequels are, you can’t wait to see what happens next. Continue watching Al films, each one is unique and by the end of creed 2, you’ll relaize you’ve seen a story that is unforgettable
Dont worry... Rocky 3 doesn't start slow. Lol. Great review!
I haven’t heard the word condominium before ever either. I, myself, thought it meant condoms just like you did. Apparently, it’s some sort of complex or a bunch of complexes. Like an apartment. A neighborhood. A suburban area. You know I’m saying?
Rocky fought a fight of attrition....Apollo is a pure boxer with superior skills. Rocky's attributes are heart, toughness (Apollo is tough as well!) and heavy hands. Remember Apollo's trainer saying you beat him and beat him but he kept coming! Definitely not a long term strategy for his head but you use what you got...
Part 3 and 4 to to the next level. Grab a tissue box.
