Your dad knows his stuff. He seems like a good, kind man who isn't afraid to show emotions. Cherish him every moment that you can and learn everything that he has to offer.
@@christopherking8526 Thank you! Nowadays I unfortunately don't get to watch movies with my dad so often. I am so thankful that my father is still there and everytime I visit him he gives me a life lesson a long the way, whether he knows it or not. Trust me when I say that we need to enjoy every second we have with the people that we love and we need ask them as many questions as possible. They have so much experience of life. And always remember: "It's not about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward"
Rocky is the only movie character I can think of who we’ve seen the whole arc of his life.. From his 20’s before he was married through his 50’s when his wife has past.
20:54 ......"You, me, nobody is gonna hit as harder as life. But is not about how hard you get hit. Is bout how hard you get hit, and keep moving forward...That's how winning is done"...... Indeed, one of the highlights of the franchise
In a DVD extra it was explained that the scene after the fight when they are leaving and Pauline & Robert turn Rocky around and lead him back out into the crowd was not in the script. The fight scene was filmed before a real world title fight so the audience was genuine in their affection for this character. The actors playing Pauline & Robert sensed this and you can briefly see Sylvester Stallone break character when he realises just how much Rocky meant to these people.
Rocky's speech to Robert gets me every time, great movie! And fun fact: Spider, who cleans the dishes and such, is the same boxer (actor) in the first Rocky movie, at the very beginning!
I love this film as well. Im sad that Adrian passed but at least we remember her develop from a shy person to a strong person that was alway on rocky side. Also you look so much like your father and hope he's involve more. If he wants too of course. Great video.
Loved that you got to experience this with your dad. Appreciate and embrace these times. They are more special than you can imagine. When it comes to life... your dad gets it! I can tell he raised you well. You got a great dad there. Love watching your reactions.
They filmed two endings: one where Rocky won, and one where Dixon won. I believe they did this so that the people in the crowd could not spoil the ending for the public before the movie was released.
20:34 seconds when he mentions "you changed" I think that's Duaffy really caught on... 20:41 you can tell her father has had a talk with her about not giving up on something... sports, school, love, work w.e but you can tell he's had that "keep your chin up and never give up" talk By the end of the scene she appreciates everything and takes it in... awesome reaction!!!
FUN FACT: Burt Young (Paulie) was actually one heck of a great boxer. 32-2 in the military and supposedly unbeaten as a pro. Even trained under the great Cus D'Amato (Mike Tyson's trainer).
It's a very touching movie and your reactions were very touching, too. It was a pleasure meeting you father. I would be happy to see him again reacting with you to other movies 😊!
@Duaffy back in the first movies, a title fight was 15 rounds but has since been moved to 12 rounds. An exhibition like this can be any number of rounds. In this case they chose 10, which is the normal number of rounds for a standard non-title fight.
Duaffy, what a great movie to watch with your Dad! Loved watching it with the two of you. Loved seeing you together! it was special. 🙂 Yes, so many life lessons in these Rocky movies.
Actually since 1988, championship bouts were reworked from 15 to 12 rounds and since no championship was on the line, those fights tend to be 10 rounds or less depending on how many fights the boxers have.
I remember when they were filming this. Everyone in Philly was talking about where in the city they were and were really, really hoping this was the send off the series deserved since it's so woven into our cultural fabric. We loved it And btw they moved the statue back to the Art Museum after this movie into a purpose-built alcove at the bottom of the steps, and all those people running the steps are random Philadelphians who showed up, not Hollywood extras. Sly and the people working on these films really understand how much these movies mean to us. That credits sequence was just for us
Having watched the Rocky series growing up, I watched this with my dad (boxing was his exercise) as well, just before he passed away a few years later. 🥀🥊
Little Marie channeled Adrian when she spoke to him in the van. "Fighters fight." That scene is a very close second to the one with his son in my opinion.
It remind me of my late father who died 3 years ago....man, it's not the movie that bring me tears, it is your father. Thank you for make me remembering my father......
My favorite in the series. I saw it an an early screening, and then twice more again in theaters. (The only one I got to see in theaters, aside from Creed 2, also at an early screening.)
what i love the most about this, is that rocky doesnt feel like he needs to stay to hear the result, it was never about the result, same thing as his first movie, is not about winning, is about keep going, keep figthing.
First time watching your reaction channel. Just want to say, both of you speak English very well. Pauly is a real friend of Rocky's He stuck with him through thick and thin. He even went with him to support him in Rocky 3 to LA, with Appollo. If you remember, Rocky didn't really give Pauly money. That is why Pauly threw down his watch in the beginning of Rocky 3, because he said that is all Rocky ever gave him. But, that's untrue. Rocky got him a job with his old mob boss, and a robot for his birthday, a snowcone machine, etc. Pauly is Rocky's best friend. Both come from humble backgrounds and Rocky respects that.
Now you gotta do the Creed movies. Your dad will be pleasently surprised how good Creed is. Especially if he likes Rocky 5. It's definitely better than that lol
Your dad seems like a great guy. :) As for kids, for about 200 years we've had this concept of "modernism" coming out of the era of the French Revolution and the philosphy of Hegel. It causes young people to think that all older people and older times are primitive crap, thus no point in studying history. And they don't learn different until they get older and are disrespected by the new generation of kids. lol
I LIKE YOU FATHER, HE REMINDS ME OF MY DAD WHICH I MISS VERY MUCH, THEY LOOK SO MUCH ALIKE I ALMOST THOUGHT WHAT IS MY FATHER DOING ON THE SCREEN, BUT I KNEW IT COULD NOT BE HIM HE PASSED AWAY IN 2004. YOU SHOULD REALLY MAKE MORE REACTIONS WITH YOUR FATHER.
Everyone swears by Rocky II and or Rocky 4. But I think Rocky Balboa or Rocky 6 is the 2nd best movie in the franchise. That speech or lecture Rocky gives his son about life puts Rocky Balboa on a whole other level. It's one of the greatest, most inspiring speeches I've ever heard on film. That humbling and inspiring moment may be the best scene Stallone has ever written. That may also be the best acting of Stallones career.
I do think 4 is amplified by Creed 2. Before Creed 2 I think it was more towards the bottom but now I consider it maybe like 3rd or 4th best? Somewhere in the middle
@Duaffy, I can speak with complete confidence when I tell you what Paulie's problem is. He hates himself. Deep down. "in the basement". He always has. He does have good feelings. He's just never been able to forgive himself for being... him.
your father may know, wonderful man, The fight scene was actually shot during the boxing matches in vegas, it was actually a fight night, the crowd is real, and all the people were there for the fight night, tyson the announcer, reports, and commentators, they filmed this during the fight night with limited time, to bring it to modern day
The Rocky films do speak to the times. They are almost period pieces. During the 80s America was in the slump. Interest rates were 16-18? Percent. Last time I checked interest rates now are 6-7 percent. America and the Soviet Union were having their cold war still after 30-ish years. I believe in the 80s America needed a "pick me up." The music, the films, the culture overall became inspirational. Much more positive than the 70s after Vietnam and the gas shortage. I believe the entertainment industry truly helped people get out of doom and gloom funk. I hope in the near future they will be up for the task, again.
Super job Reacting to Rocky Balboa, Duaffy & Duaffy's Dad!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽I forget how young you are beacuse you are such a mature young woman. Your dad does not seem to be very old. Yes, this was meant to be the final Rocky film, after Rocky V was such a disappointment for the final film. Adrian was originally alive in the original script, but they decided for Rocky's journey that she should be deceased. Your dad did a great jod, and his English was easy to understand!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
With all Paulie’s faults he always had Rocky’s back. 1. Took over car payments in Rocky II when Roxky was down on his luck. 2. Hit Thunder lips with a chair and took a hard hit for Rocky in Rocky III. 3. Stood up for Rocky at press conference with Russians in Rocky 4. 4. Stood up for Rocky in the bar when Tommy Gun came calling out Rocky, and got his tooth knocked out for it in Rocky 5. He knew he was an A-hole, but he loved his best friend and his family. There is a touching deleted scene in Rocky Balboa of Pauline crying to Rocky behind restaurant regretting how bad he treated Adrian.
6:51 Paulie is what Rocky might have been had he not had the heart and fought to realize his dreams. Paulie comes from the same time and place as Rocky. He is a very flawed character, but without what Rocky has inside of himself that is special, and without Adrian and Mick.......Rocky might have been very much like Paulie. Paulie has a good heart but his entire life has been filled with disappointment, and regret and it has beat him down. Rocky and Adrian are the only lights in his life and he feels a terrible amount of guilt for his past actions in general but especially concerning his sister. He is a man nearly the end of his life and all of his memories bring him sorrow. Sadly, I think there are a lot of people in the world with the same experiences as Paulie and he brings some balance and reality to the film series. Rocky and Adrian and Mick and Apollo are heroes and Paulie is the common man not blessed with the talent and skills and without the support structure of the heroes.
YES! CREED NEXT! This is a great film though. Great final "Rocky" film but yeah the story continues on :) and Rocky is in both Creed movies too. :) so you will still see him.
I love how Creed integrates poor black Philly into the story setting as well as the original Rocky integrated poor white Philly. The dirtbike kids, Max's, the music scene, the neighborhoods shown. I was pretty disappointed the second one did so much in LA, but it makes sense for the character and we got 7 movies out of them so 🤷
At the time this came out the heavyweight division wasn’t the same. The Klitchko brothers dominated. Wladimir held 2 of the 4 world titles meanwhile Vitali had 1. Heavyweight bouts weren’t seen as something that could draw here so as a result bouts were held in Europe (since the Klitchkos are from the Ukraine). The lighter classes dominated here in the states. Middleweight, welterweight, light heavyweight, lightweight, etc. they were the draw.
I know who you are talking about. Tommy Morrison has the best left hook. Of all time. That is one of my favorite my favorite fighters He was the best of the best. ❤💪🏼🥊
That was really good, you should do more with your dad, 'Fight Club', see his take on that would be good(only if he hasn't already seen it😁).😊 Loved how you had Spanish subs on this, really helped my nephew understand it more, his English isn't as good as yours. Reminds me of going to Belgium with a friend😊 to visit her mum. She didn't speak much English and I didn't speak Flemish, but we'd watch old films communicating throughout, using film and G&Ts. 😂
3:13 ....Adrian dies off camera in between Rocky V and this one, mostly because Talia Shire (the actress).... Don't know if she didn't want to return to the role, or if Stallone wanted a dramatic point for his character, or what, but definitely a lost we all can feel.....
The guy who says "Lets get ready to rumble" owns the trademark on that phrase. Only he can say it in a sporting event. If anyone else says it they owe him royalties. And he gets paid a stupid amount of money to just come in and say "lets get ready to rumble" like that, because it is so iconic
You do remember Rocky 5? Something, yes. And did you like it? Yeah. This is my dad. And they're both awesome. XD As you get older. Rocky Balboa is the undisputed best Rocky movie. :D
Hi Duaffy, Thank You for a fun movie!!! Much respect to your father, he's a wonderful man!!! So when is Viva La France going to be watched, cause i'de love to see it? Love you, Duaffy... see you next time.
Late reaction (thought of this after watching a more recent video of yours a day or two ago, which I can't seem to find now), but I remembered and liked how your Dad wasn't phased by the hinting (but without a clear resolution) of a romance between Rocky and Marie ("it's just a kiss"). Sometimes in life, things aren't that clear. But it was still something interesting that happened and I don't think it detracts from the story, and it sounds like your Dad didn't either. Sending good vibes your way.
Your dad knows his stuff. He seems like a good, kind man who isn't afraid to show emotions. Cherish him every moment that you can and learn everything that he has to offer.
Well said!!

No one on UA-cam has ever reacted to the 2011 “the muppets” movie. I think you should be the first

That was really good, you should do more with your dad, 'Fight Club', see his take on that would be good(only if he hasn't already seen it😁).😊
Loved how you had Spanish subs on this, really helped my nephew understand it more, his English isn't as good as yours. Reminds me of going to Belgium with a friend😊 to visit her mum. She didn't speak much English and I didn't speak Flemish, but we'd watch old films communicating throughout, using film and G&Ts. 😂
There is an alternate ending where Rocky wins

3:13 ....Adrian dies off camera in between Rocky V and this one, mostly because Talia Shire (the actress).... Don't know if she didn't want to return to the role, or if Stallone wanted a dramatic point for his character, or what, but definitely a lost we all can feel.....
You dad is a good man, Duaffy.
Excelent reaction ! Congratulations
The guy who says "Lets get ready to rumble" owns the trademark on that phrase. Only he can say it in a sporting event. If anyone else says it they owe him royalties. And he gets paid a stupid amount of money to just come in and say "lets get ready to rumble" like that, because it is so iconic
Balboa forever!❤🥊

You do remember Rocky 5?
Something, yes.
And did you like it?
Yeah.
This is my dad. And they're both awesome. XD
As you get older. Rocky Balboa is the undisputed best Rocky movie. :D
