Sad to say bruh OKC is cursed.
2009- Underdog OKC was bout to force game 7 against the defending champ Lakers and Gasol makes a putback and ends them
2013- Finished 60 games but Westbrook injured in the first round
2014- Ibaka hurt in the first two game of San Antonio, you never know, they would never be down 2-0 in the first place
2015- Almost everyone was hurt that year, they did tie the pelicans for the 8th seed but they checked the regular season matchups and AD's game winner gave them the advantage
2016- Took a 3-1 lead and Game 6 Klay happened
2018- Roberson injured, Roberson was their best defender and we would have Roberson instead of Corey Brewer on Mitchell. Also, the missed call, im not making excuses, just look at Quin Synder's face. He knew it was a foul.
2019- OKC at one point was looking to reach the WCF, and PG looked like the MVP, however, PG got injured and there was one point he couldn't even lift his shoulder, Russ was hurt too. Dame destroys
Can't deny the greatness of the Thunders' scouting department. Too bad the pieces are just too good fit in with each other. They surely have the potential and the ability to be where Warriors was this past half a decade

The OKC Thunder's biggest mistake was trying to treat the Thunder as if they were the Spurs, Sam Presti is an incredible GM and is probably the best drafter the league has ever seen, but he also used to work for the Spurs. He knew that in order to win a championship with a small market team, he had to build a culture that allowed to nonsense and valued the team above all else, the problem was that he also needed player who were willing to make huge sacrifices. He treated James Harden exactly like Manu Ginobili, tried to keep him as a bench player and tried to get him to take a pay cut (just like Manu) but that wasn't gonna happen. He tried to treat KD like Tim Duncan, Kendrick Perkins recently said that when KD won MVP, Nike wanted to make a huge mural of him to celebrate it, but the Thunder wouldn't let him do it since they wanted to promote a culture of teamwork rather than a single individual. A big reason why KD changed after going to Golden State was because he could act like himself since OKC wouldn't let him, even if KD didn't join the Warriors, he wouldn't have resigned with OKC. Only person who was loyal and would commit to a small market was Westbrook, but he couldn't win a championship so OKC decided to trade him and start over.
I’d recommend a timeline of the Spurs building their championship team up starting with drafting Tim Duncan to go with David Robinson all the way to the 2014 finals and even the fall of the team can be included like all the players retiring,Kawhis injury,etc. I love vids like these so I wanted to give a suggestion

Westbrook was a rookie Kevin Durant was 1 year in harden was a six man and pg13 first year was good but the jazz were coming off that year strong then the second year pg13 was injured kinda like the melo situation but he did wanna stay and you know the dame three which was a step back/side step mid air three fade-away from 40 ft so that should’ve never went in and plus we were up 115-113 at the end but then they got a layup then Westbrook got a controversial non foul then dame did what I already said so know let’s go to 2017 where Westbrook was solo and surprisingly took a game off a amazing year for the rockets and now 2018 which I’ve already discussed but didn’t mention Melos part of this situation, so here we go Melo didn’t want to be a starter which lead to so many negative things and hate to him, if he was a starter we could’ve got the comeback but the jazz came off a amazing year just coming at the 5th or 4th seed i don’t remember and 2020 (currently) there rebuilding is going great :)
