With "Naturelized Camouflage" just consider this: it is for the whole first battleround. So when the enemy shoots you, you "Surge" out of cover and out of Venomtrophes range but still benefit from cover all the way into your opponent if he won't stop shooting those three units. I consider it ok->good. Just my opinion on this ^^
Great video helped me understand the detachment as a new tyranid player along with all of the combos. I would love to see this list played on the channel.
At 10:40 you started talking about how the -1 hits from stratagem and venomthropes stack… I don’t know if it was changed in an update since the video dropped, but current rules say hit and wound rolls can’t be modified more than +1 or -1??
You can never modify to hit or to wound rolls below -1, however multiple -1s do stack. It only comes up when being attacked by a unit with a +1. For example, you have a unit of Termagants that have the -1 to hit strategem used on them, and are in the Venomthropes' stealth aura of -1 to hit. They are targetted by a unit with a heavy weapon that stood still on BS 3+. The heavy weapon gives +1 to hit, but receives -2, so the unit will hit on 4+. If the heavy weapon unit moved, it would not receive the +1 to hit, so shooting the Termagants, it will receive the -2, but still hit on a 4+ since the unit's BS is 3+ and cannot be modified to -2.
Think with the points changes and nerf to free strats I'd definitely drop a tyrant at least, you could still throw in a full squad of zoeys instead if you really want synapse and shooting still or just throw in some neurolictors or pyrovores for more utility.
I don't understand, you mentioned at 1:50 that the Endless Multidude units can fight first in the fight phase, but they don't have the fight first keyword and I couldn't see that they got it with the detachment rule? If someone could clear this up that would be awesome :)
The active player fights second unless their unit has fights first or charged. Since the EM unit surge moved into engagement distance they get to fight first unless the active player's unit has the keyword
So I’ve mostly used blobs of gants since starting warhammer. Started in 10th so I’m a new player for sure. However Mabye I’m just not seeing this same way as some other but it kinda looks like invasion fleet detachment does better for swarms. Let me explain. This detachments enhancements seem iffy to use so let’s not worry about those. The stratagems are cool don’t get me wrong but it’s only effecting 1 unit instead of 2 like in invasion. That’s a big deal because u have a literal swarm. Also there is no regen gaunts to a unit in this one aside from just being back a whole unit. Which don’t get me wrong is great but thats the big winner stratagem. If u take that stratagem and put it into invasion it would preform better. The crit hits on 5 is in invasion for 2 cp. endless swarm regens almost a whole unit of gaunts with tervigon in real time instead of needing to redeploy. U can select lethal or sustained hits for cp with hyper adaptive. Blast weapons in my experience so far havnt been a huge problem and I think is overblown. (don’t shoot me for the pun) however flamers will rip through 20 gants before they can touch the enemy. Rapid regen for 1 cp just works really well. It just seems like ur moving ur gants forward all game to die before they end up doing anything worthwhile. Mabye when I try it I’ll learn that it actually a great detachment and I’m worried for nothing but so far I’m very underwhelmed with it. Especially seeing as the only regen come from a tervigon (which keep in mind will lose its feel no pain enhancement) and put a whole unit in reserves which makes U take an expensive swarm lord for all the cp u will be spending instead of 2 more units of gants. Or another tervigon.
This is my same thought process. Half of what the stratagems to the invasion fleet does for free and the other half are kinda meh. I also love my big o blobs to and it really does feel like everything unending swarm offers invasion fleet does better or is really not needed
@@thephinoxman2 unfortunately it seems so with the only exception being all of the hormagaunts. Those with a swarmlord bring one back each phase would be great. Issue is unending swarm really is only good for that one battle line unit. I made a pretty cool list with them and the swarmlord. 3 primes leading gargoyles. I mean it’ll be thematic. Almost 200 models lol
the strat to bring the unit back in strategic reserves. Does it explicitly say startegic reserves or just reserves? If it is the first option, then wouldnt it be rules as written? So it has to come back in from a board edge? Just trying to understand. Thanks for the vid :)
Yeah certain lists will still decimate gaunts but you will also face armies that will be incapable of killing them all over 5 turns if you run as many as possible. I did the math and you can run max battle line units for tyranids(60 of each units type) and still have 740 points to spare on big stuff
it's more the fact they won't have enough to kill them especially if you tie them in combat, theoretically you should out score them on primary fairly easy and doing things like cleanse of teleport homers is great
Рік тому+2
Does the "advance D6 after getting shot" work per weapon or per unit shooting? So if a Librarian for example casts smite and then shoots his pistol can I advance twice?
Hey there, unfortunately no because all the shooting from a single unit is done in one activation, so in essence its done at the same time therefore you can only move extra once. but if two separate units shoot at the gaunts then they will move twice
Here's how I would run it: 1 Neurotyrant Warlord, give it Naturalised Camouflage. 2 units of 11 Neurogaunts; tag them with the Neurotyrant to get Synapse coverage where you need it. 2 units of 20 Gargoyles; flankers, harassers. 3 units of 10 Termagants 2 units of 20 Hormagaunts =1000 Incredibly themed, can't fight for shit but will clog up the board and win on scoring - if it works as planned. You could split up the big broods, if you prefer to do even more MSU/move-block/scoring, but it'll come at the cost of staying power - less chance of being able to survive and lock down enemies.
Just made a 640p tyranids army with endless swarm in mind,,,,,but haven’t got a prime or neuro tyrant so that’s screwed me for most of the enhancements I got the parasite and a tervigon damn
This looks like a fun little detachement. But the lack of leading units its a bit sad. I dont own or play to get most of the options you do have, but i´ll try this anyway. Question: If you get a CP at the start and then +1 from the Swarm Lord could you still get a third CP by discarding a Secondary?
unfortunately not, you can only ever gain a single extra CP in your turn. Some exceptions are the imperial knights special rule or the Votann one in their detachment rules but that's about it
Potentially, all these videos for the Detachments were done before the balance data slate so the points will be changed I imagine, Looking back I agree a pyrovore or potentially some ripper bases for mission play
No date confirmed yet, but the link is in the description for the email sign up link, so when its all confirmed you will get notified of the date and contents :)
Raveners for sure have a space in every kid list, they are great for mission play and much cheaper than the harpy. It depends on the list make up right, so rippers also achieve the same as ravenors if your going fixed but for tactical Ravenors are great
Still wouldn't be viable because he would have T3 vs precision weapons and get murdered anyway 😅. Same reason no one takes neurotyrant with neurogaunts.
I was just about to watch this when i realised: No pictures of the units your talking about. No index cards on screen either. Post production value is to low for me.
Unfortunately with how many videos we are producing and one editor it’s not feasible to add those in for every video. Hopefully the video is extremely insightful and informative.
The army be like. I like to move it move it.
Are you certain you love yo move 120+models per turn.
I mean i love it too but its definetly not for everyone XD

yeah, I am playing tomorrow with Unending Swarm and definitly taking Natural Camoflage.... I do not have Venomthropes. So for me it is must.
@@DinoCopRulezTheWORLDhow did it go?

What is the rule about, in the combat phase the inactive player goes first. I cannot find this in the rule book? Thanks in advanced. 16:36
i wonder if the idea behind the +2 move is that it allows a tervigon or a tyrant to keep up with hormagaunts?

Do you have a list of what stratagems are what? e.g. battle tactic, strategic ploy... It really matters now
Ill find out and put them in the description for you mate
Synaptic goading -strategic ploy
Swarming masses - battle tactic
Unending waves - strategic ploy
Bounding advance - battle tactic
Preservation imperative - strategic ploy
Teeming masses - Battle Tactic

Yes! I want a BR of this.

Would you consider maybe a Harpy with hover or Raveners? Seems like they might have synergy with being able to move quickly all over the board.

20 Gaunts with 4 extra shots per model 😂 that’s insane!! 80 Shots 😉 heading into the enemy they rushing
Imagine having to move d6 of an objective because you lost a model. And then end in engagement range and pile off the objective.
The move is optional.
