- Welcome back to the Gaming Harbinger! Today we are here to take a look at The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy. This game is due out early 2025 for the Nintendo Switch and PC. This is a collaboration between the creator of Danganronpa and the creator of the Zero Escape series. As we are nearing the end of the Switch life cycle and lots of games have been announced, I don't want people to forget this title! It also has had a rough development cycle. You can expect to hear all this and more in the video.

You're right, Too Kyo left behind the Danganronpa license, which belongs to Spike Chunsoft. It's not ALL bad news, as Spike published and co-developed Rain Code, so the license might still be used. Nevertheless, Kodaka has expressed wishing to leave the franchise behind and, knowing the ending message of V3, it seems for the best for both fans and the team behind it.
I personally can't wait for The Hundred Line. I feel like Kodaka has already proven he can make great games. Even the games within the same series have so much effort put into them. I even liked the spinoff Another Episode.
If Rain Code and The Hundred Line become his Danganronpa substitutes, I wouldn't be mad about it.
Rain code was bad, they killed all the good characters after first chapter and replaced with brainless comedy scat with much less personality.
Would you say it comes off sillier than Danganronpa? I personally don't feel that way. But maybe to you it felt like it leaned too much into the comedy.
Regarding killing off the good characters...that was pure genius! I loved that part! This is what I signed up for! 😂😂

The cut scenes are really nice! The last game they made got its own anime. 😄
