Unironically, this is why I like to pair Durge with Shadowheart. They're just so damn similar. Spoilers, if you haven't beat the game. They both serve a dark god trying to use them to their own ends against their nature (if you play redemption Durge) Shadowheart would also be awake through the night for prayers, and I imagine Durge would stay up to exhaust himself so he can't possibly bring harm to his friends. They also both need to make a major sacrifice against their own dark god to ever truly be free from them, and free to forge their own path.

And that's when he discovered to his horror that Halsin is a cuddler. Not only could Astarion not sleep, he couldn't even move, pinned underneath the arm of a literal bear
If you go a night with Durge and the worst thing he did was scream you got off lightly cause chances are he just saved your life from the intrusive thoughts of his dad’s murderboner.
This goes even more true if you romance Astarion as a Durge and the butler appears to tell you, you have to kill the one you hold most dear due to not killing Isobel. Who was just at the back of this conversation, chilling with Aylin with me 😂

I love how they all fit so well Especially durge, he's the biggest compared to everyone (except for Halsin), and he'd probably scream in his sleep too with all the horrors he's been through.

Karlach had to sleep in the bathtub, both to get away from Shadowheart and Lae’zel’s squabbling and to minimize the damage she’d do if she happened to combust in her sleep.
This is just canon as far as I'm concerned. Astarion just does not sleep, he tries to do his elven reverie meditation stuff after hunting/sucking Durge and is just subjected to this skull numbing choir of sleeping problems. Doesn't even touch on the ladies, because I'm sure they'd also have their share of *problems*. Lae'zel: Issues with her circadian rhythm on account of not being from "this grassy pebble". She stays up way later than she should, and needs to be kicked awake in the morning. Perpetually runs on 4-5 hours of sleep. Shadowheart: Pounds down the wine, sleeps like absolute shit, and wakes up with a red wine hangover. Will she stop? No. Karlach: Sleep talker, but not the fun kind. She prolly just mumbles incoherently. Is the most tolerable for Astarion.
karlach might also be a sleep hugger (hence the cute lttle plushy in her camp) ... which is TERRIFYING if a) she's on fucking fire half the time and b) you're a vampire
So I had the no party limit mod installed and while resting it bugged sometimes and showed me the characters while they slept/snored. I could click on their portraits and they’d say nothing. Except Karlach. Karlach said some nightmare fuel shit. I mean, she was probably having nightmares from her time in the hells
You have no idea how this fits too well and I think the creator knows it too. Gale with the orb in his chest, Wyll with his connection to his patron, and Durge with his bloody dreams.
i can get behind wyll moaning in his sleep honestly. i've heard audio compilations of the companions snoring and most of them make some questionable noises.
if you romance gale, you will hear banters where the other characters mention that he talks in his sleeps... and he is confident that whatever he talks about is educational so people should listen to his sleep talks also... halsin... he transformed into a bear when he lost focus during sexy times... i assume he lost focus as well when he sleeps (extra: this is also the reason why there is a theory where halsin is not an elf druid that wildshape into a bear, but a bear druid that wildhshape into an elf... additional supporting information includes his "wildshape: cave bear" skill is unique, from the part that its a cave bear while normal wild shape is just bear, and that this is a bonus action while normal wildshape is an action, and finally he has this skills from lvl1 (normal druid gets wildshapes at lvl 2))
Me, cozying up to the most final boss I could find and thinking I’ll have the best sleep of my life by his side, only to find out that he gets the night screams, too, and that we both have to go to therapy. We’ll fix this together, if it’s the last thing I do, big man ❤
I imagine Shadowheart’s the sleepwalker; since she’s a half-elf. Elves don’t sleep, but humans do, so a half-elf would probably sleep, but be extra prone to sleepwalking, sleeptalking, and/or randomly waking up in the middle of the night.
