Glad to see others also wash their brooms. I have always periodically washed both my broom and the dustpan and its brush. Why use dirty tools on clean floors? Everybody always laughs at me.
Let 'em laugh. For goodness sake, who would want to use dirty brooms and dustpans? ICK!! LOL. I now usually use my brooms a bit differently so I rarely have to wash them. Few things ick me out more than a dirty dustpan though, so they get washed after almost every use.
Oh, thanks so much! I have been considering one of these, and this video is just great. I love the way you did it. Helps me immensely in deciding. Nope, if nothing else, I wouldn't like the dustpan for the reason you described and the handle is WAY too short for even my 5'3" self. I have arthritis in my shoulder and the sweeping action that far below my shoulder is not good. As much as I like the idea, I think I'll wait for some improvements before I buy one. Thanks for saving me $40, LOL.
I never thought about cleaning/washing my brooms until I saw you wash this product 🤨 Well…I think it’s a great idea and will be cleaning it very shortly… BRB! Thank you for all your testing!
First of all, love your practical videos! I have tiled floors with a wide grout so I think the dirt will get trapped there. And it's overpriced, it's practically a squeegee. Thanks for reviewing stuff for us!
"sweeping" up vomit is a great idea I can't believe ive never heard anyone else mention this or thought of it myself! Cleaning it with paper towels is so horrible, i feel like im just holding it in my hands. Thank you for the future stress you have relieved me from.
I have a duel squege/brush it works great on floors and windows. I have a mr. clean broom that is 23+ years old, yes i wash once a year or so. Thanks for reviewing.
Thank you for the review, I appreciate it. I use the Furminator for my broom. I got it when I had pets. It also has a rubber head, one side is straight, the side has very little nubs. It gets EVERYTHING like a magnet. I only use a standard broom to sweep my porches.
I have one little hint when squeegeeing windows. I put a dirty bath towel on the windowsill to catch the water. Saves a lot of water on your windowsill. Harder to do on a door because the glass is usually several inches from the floor. A pro window washer taught me this hack.
@@FieldOfFocus It was a game-changer for me, lol. I prefer to squeegee my windows but it always led to having to clean dirty water from my windowsills, which made me crazy. Now once the windows are done, it's just toss the dirty towel into the wash and I'm done. He also taught me to use just a little Dawn in water for cleaning with a quick water clean after, my windows always sparkle with little or no scrubbing, even outside. I bless him every time i do this job, which I really don't like to do (smile).
You made me laugh when suggesting for vomit because that was not what I was expecting lol, but great idea! Kind of pricy for a short handle imo. 🤔 Thank you for sharing! God bless you! ❤
freexing does not actually kill bacteria, it just slows down replication. you put bad meat in the freezer ... it's bad meat when you get it out... or if it's on the edge , it will still spoil quickly!
I own a similar broom. It gets all the pet hair, dust bunnies. And grit from from.the telescoping handle is only problem, it loosens while using. It's great fir in between vac days. I like it.
If there’s any Asian markets near you, they often have these short, fine grass type intricately woven brooms that seem to generate a static field as they glide across the floor and lift up everything. Very light weight, but they will decompose if they get wet, so.. But they are great. But the handle part is only maybe waist high so you might have to use them differently than our style brooms. But they are so interesting to look at how they weave the bristles. I’m not flirting but you have an amazing shape.
I have a similar “broom “…the only thing I find it good for is get under the front of my large kitchen appliances…stove, refrigerator, dishwasher etc. 🤷🏼♀️
I watched the video on the helioairbroom website, and it looks like the handle actually does telescope. They show it telescoping just above where the handle connects to the "broom" part. Thanks for testing this - I was curious about it!
When I used a broom I never washed it however I haven’t used a broom in years, I use an electric floor vacuum, it gets all the dirt and dust that a traditional broom leaves behind and it’s a whole lot less physical work to use.
I thought it was a broom that sucked up the dirt piles as you swept, based on the "air" name. But it's just a floor squgee. It's cleaner than all the little bristles that get dirty, but sometimes you need to jam those bristles into a corner to get all the crevices.
I wash my broom by scrubbing the bathroom floor with the broom and some soapy water, and then just rinse with clean water and sweep it towards the drain, which also rinses the broom.
I think for families who have food falling on the floor that system would work. Esp on linoleum, vinyl or tile. I didn't like the idea of the flour getting pressed into the seams of the wood planks. I have tile and wood to deal, am over 5'8" so I would likely go for the hand held version (whisk broom style). Esp. since I do have a cat who occasionally over eats and throws it all up. Thanks for doing this test. I thought you were going to go after the sweep with a wet wipe to show how much was left behind...The video was good enough, though.
I wash and most importantly disinfect my brooms three times a year. My mother was a lab technician and she told me that brooms just spread germs across each surface. She actually showed it to me under a microscope when I was 14 please clean your brooms.
I'll leave a comment but I need room go clean my broom first.... 😉 never have I cleaned it but I think it's more necessary with a product like this if you were to use it to squeegee glass.
@ Wonderful! Add in a good quality METAL dustpan and you will be in heaven. For some reason the metal dustpans pick up more. Not sure why - maybe they are thinner and able to hug the ground better.

I have real hard wood floors and anyone who does, understands the cracks between slats. I use my bristle broom, then hand vacuum to get dirt between those cracks. Her test on the floors… yea, not impressed. They say you don’t fix what isn’t broken.
@@lisab3338 So do I. I vacuum everything out of it, squeeze a bit on dish soap in the bottom of my tub, wet the broom, and sweep the soap. Then rinse and let dry. 3 minutes max.
I’ve always washed my brooms! Plus, once you’ve got a bucket of soapy water you can use the broom to wash the floor! I then use an old towel to mop up the water!

Glad you enjoyed! I agree it is pricy for a short handle with not many unique uses.
I would like to see you test the freezer for removing bacteria. Many people say that works. Maybe with a stuffed animal, towel, etc. Thank you!

I have a lot of tile in my home how do you get the dirt out of the grout how many which ways do you have to sweep to get it out
I don't have any tile floors, and I haven't since the early 2000s, so back then I used a vacuum....
It would be even better if it had a channel for suction from a small USB charged motor. I actually thought, by the name, it was one with suction.
That would be a useful feature!
That's what I thought too.
I would attach the Swiffer cloths to it. The shape makes it better than a Swiffer for corners.
