People seem to think if everyone else isn't celebrating Pride with the people who DO want to celebrate it, then we're somehow their enemies or attempting to undermine their efforts. No, just go do the Pride thing on your own time and in your own way, and stop forcing us to participate in it. We have other concerns in our life that take president over you!
These people need flags, parades and constant validation over who they want to sleep with. If you are SO INSECURE in your lifestyle, that you need this coddling every day, then the problem lies with YOU, not the rest of us who are just trying to get on with our lives.
It isn’t though. There are places where they lgbtq are still persecuted, even in the US. But they’re not focused on incidents of real prejudice with examples, such as being fired for being gay, they would rather focus on people minding their own business not clapping for them. Which is why they’re not going to solve anything. It’s like yelling at your dog when you had a bad day at work. An easy target that won’t fight back or challenge you, but also won’t solve your problems.
Fr, as a lesbian I can say the lgbtq+ community aren't victims. Like, one of my friends let it slip that I was gay to my school year AND nobody cared they were just like "Oh cool, anyways," We aren't victims. The people who claim they are, are just attention seekers.
I work for Starbucks, we can’t decorate for anything. I wanted to decorate my store for Christmas and they said no in order to remain inclusive. This community is over reacting 🤷🏻♀️
Ecclesiastes 10:1-10 1 As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor. 2 The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the LEFT. 3 Even as fools walk along the road, they lack sense and show everyone how stupid they are. God's view of Woke, Amen.
I worked in Starbucks off and on for 7 years. I was a manager for a year. You’re not supposed to have decorations that aren’t Starbucks supplied. It’s not that deep. That includes decor for other holidays
Exactly. As a former employee as well, if we wanted to decorate something in store we had to ask our managers permission first. And it was usually something small or typically in front of the espresso machines since that’s where most customers congregated. Not everything has to be in your face to be celebrated 🙄
so in all likelihood it was something like "well this is against the rules but we're not going to bother enforcing it" kind of like how you might not be pulled over for going 5 miles over the speed limit in some areas but others will. the fact the rule is now being enforced doesn't mean it wasn't against the rules the whole time.
I’m gay and I’ve been as gay as they come but I don’t need my sexual orientation celebrated by every company, it’s so absurd and every time I say this people accuse me of either lying about my sexuality or hating myself. What a world do we live in
I get those comments from people too, sometimes even from straight people who latch on to all this crap to virtue signal. Stay strong, you have seen thru their manipulation.
What’s really sad about today is I’m sure you could find a twitter community of ppl with foot fetishes demanding to be celebrated…. I agree with you, I’m just saying lol
thank you for this. I feel the same way. just like one shouldn't be hated for their sexuality, why should one be celebrated for their sexuality? It's weird, stop it, just live your life like a normal person, queer or not.
What infuriates me most is that: June is pride month like everyone knows But it’s also men’s mental health month But that’s ignored so much that I learned about it halfway through the month because pride is more important that men not feeling like they can talk about there mental health
Independence day is the one that should change it to a month because it's the most meaningful celebration not these "oh im depressed" month type of syits
Here's my biggest issue with the whole "Pride" thing. It is the most ridiculous thing in the world to celebrate your sexual orientation, or even feel the need to express it so loudly to the world. I don't go around telling people I'm straight, or hanging up pro-straight decorations (which don't exist, by the way), spend my time organizing pro-straight parades, or insisting of special benefits for being straight. Your sexual orientation is ONLY relevant to the people you wish to date! Stop injecting it into every facet of society! We have created this generation of attention-seeking people, and this is just one of the many tools they use that feed that unhealthy obsession. You are NOT SPECIAL because you are gay, any more than I am special because I'm straight. Actions and accomplishments are what set individuals apart. About the Starbucks issue, your sexual orientation has ZERO influence on how well you make a cup of coffee. A workplace is just that, a place where a wide variety of individuals work together. When you're are work, focus on doing your job well and doing what you can to improve that environment. Quit worrying about self-serving, attention-seeking celebrations and start focusing on doing your job well. By the way, about 3% of the population are gay or lesbian, and 0.6% are trans. Why should the other 96% celebrate? I am 100% against oppression or discrimination against any person of any race or sexual orientation, but we've allowed oppression to be defined as "Not celebrating me for literally existing as a gay person". Your sexual orientation doesn't give you any special benefits or privileges. America is based on equality of opportunity for every individual. When you start insisting on special benefits, you've lost the plot.
I agree with you on most of this, and you're right! We aren't special about being queer, we are allowed to exist in peace along with other people in this world. The workplace should be focused on work, however, having Pride celebrations is a good thing because the entirety of it has been oppressed for thousands of years. It's important for it to be celebrated, it's to make people feel welcome and that they're not alone! There is no "straight pride" because it's always existed in media, movies, school, politics, etc... It's always been there! The Queer Community is part of the minority, we want to exist in peace and not cause harm. Those that claim to be queer and cause harm are not welcomed. Another note is the fact this is a multi-billion dollar corporation that couldn't give two flying fucks about anything but money. Go to local coffee shops and support small businesses!!!!!
@@IsadoraTaylor And I agree with most of what you said. Companies certainly don't care about people, most only care about money. And modern day companies are showing us we should support small businesses! I do see your point, and I'm certainly not denying there was discrimination both in the past and now. In America the numbers have dropped drastically, but there are still 64 countries in the world where homosexuality is criminalized. In my opinion I think it is a dangerous social precedent to only celebrate certain groups, particularly when it is forced upon people. But I also believe that most people in the queer community do just want to live in peace, and the more radicals views being pushed are coming from a very small percentage of people on the extremes. Even though we may not agree 100% I will still stand beside you and defend your freedom to celebrate and also to be free from discrimination.
@@craigsparton I agree. We just want love, respect, and to not be hated/outcasted based on who we have sex with. It’s ridiculous, and should have ended a while ago. It’s stupid, unnecessary, and harmful because of gay hate crimes. Until there’s no more homophobic people, or at least no people trying to kill us, there will be Pride Month. And it’s a movement, not just a month
Well said. 👏🏻👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿 I totally agree with everything. I think the entire community has been so very caught up in what they refer to as “gay right” when the fact of the matter is, those aren’t RIGHTS Americans all have the same rights, the things they want are PRIVILEGES. Also you should look it up apparently there IS a straight pride flag! Guess what amazing colors it is? Black and white stripes 😒
My mom works at one in New Jersey for 15 years and the new “younger crowd” was trying to get her fired for being racist and “unwoke” because she gets confused with all their different pronouns. I told her it’s time to find a different company. The pride decorations also kept falling on the pastries and another coworker took down the pride flag over it, and Ofcourse they tried to blame my mother for it.
Fight fire with fire. When one of the younger crowd calls your mom a "she" or "her", your mom can yell at them for not using her correct pronouns for today, because her pronouns change every day, because she has a right to change them whenever she wants. Hey, those are the rules of the pronoun game, right? So, play the game by their rules and show them how stupid it is.
I mean… I worked at Starbucks when they closed every store nationwide to talk about “diversity”- after which I decided to act stupid and unaware about any and every kind of “woke” topic (even as a brown minority) so I didn’t have to lie about my own opinions to keep my job. So I’m kind of proud of them for this. That’s progress to me! 😂
Logically you can't demand special treatment if you're replaceable. It doesn't take a trade school completion, or special degree to make coffee... The lack of ability to advertise your sexual preference in the work place is not loss rights, it's loss of special treatment, and more inclusive. Just what they wanted. Inclusivity. Don't they see the irony?
Libtards never see the big picture, or the irony and hypocrisy in anything they do or support. When you don't toe the exact line, say the exact thing, and embrace the exact ideology they want you too, they have to revolt against you. You can't make them see the logic in their inclusivity by taking down decorations that might offend some people. Inclusivity means you MUST be tolerant of anything the SJWs force upon you. Making other people uncomfortable or offending them is only ok if they do it to conservatives. Doing it to them is an attack and a threat, hate speech, assault and stripping away their rights.
Look how they turned on Starbucks even after Starbucks supported lgbt for years. It happens with all the leftist ideology folk. The moment you go against them you are marked and turned on.
@@blabla187Why are you making it such a big deal? Yes the lgbtq wasnt tolerated in the past but the issue here is that people are hating for the most stupid reasons. An example is hating on people just because they dont celebrate the national day for your country. Would someone get hated if they dont put up Christmas, halloween, etc.. decorations
@@Durabell exactly! I don't care if my neighbors put up Halloween/Christmas decorations... Yet these rainbow snowflakes are protesting and striking at Starbucks exactly for not putting up their decorations! The LGetc community is the one going nuts! Because at the end of the day they aren't promoting enlightenment, intelligence, or innovation; all they are pushing is weird sex and gender dysphoria, taking society down the wrong path!
@@mikezerker6925 that would be unnecessary because straight people have never been discriminated against specifically for being straight. If y’all would just move on and not care, none of this would be necessary anymore. It’s ironic.

I want a month where no one is allowed to harass or yell at customer service staff please. Just one month a year where we don’t have to deal with that. No need for any celebratory decoration; just understanding. Thanks.
It shouldn’t be just a month of no harassment. IT SHOULD YEAR ROUND. One word. Respect. If the whole world just simply respected each other we wouldn’t be in situations like in this video
I just don’t understand when they are “under attack”. No they aren’t. They just want every single person on earth to agree with them. And won’t stop until they have everyone on board. And will shove this in our faces until we agree with their ideology.
My local Starbucks has absolutely nothing pride-related or even a single rainbow thing. And they haven’t for all of June. I was very impressed and relieved.
Customers have been upset at the politics they keep pushing so they must have started going elsewhere. I started noticing when ppl would go to garage sales to collect some starbucks mugs because they could get good prices online for resale. But because of the current times and events, the mugs aren't so collectible anymore. Must have been like three or two years ago now.
I have met some religious/spiritual people that still show kindness and love when they are disrespected and mocked for their beliefs, but never have I ever come across anyone in the LGBT community that ever showed kindness towards someone that disagreed with their lifestyle. Not a single one, not sure if I will anytime soon either Edit: I don’t think some of you guys understand what I’m trying to say. I’m talking about what I’ve noticed about the two groups when facing someone that disagrees with their beliefs or lifestyle. I know the groups are very different but I’m not comparing how similar they are or who among them is allowed to disrespect who, or who among them is faced with more discrimination, NO!!! I am taking two groups that are known for spreading their beliefs to the world and comparing them on how THEY REACT and TREAT their ENEMIES when MOCKED for who they are or what they believe in! It is so simple to understand, how are you not getting it? For the religious or spiritual, I have noticed those that are like fanatics and will spout all kinds of terrible things and then there are those that even after being mocked will still be kind towards you, offer you a place to stay, food to eat, etc. What I have noticed from Lgbt, is that even if they appear very very kind, once someone simply disagrees, they either go silent but then talk bad behind their back when they are gone or they will turn on you and spout every word that ends with “phobic” that they can think of for not supporting their sexuality like a fanatic. I have yet to see good come from those in the lgbt community when faced with mockery or disagreement for their sexuality
No body shocked be "mocked" or "disrespected". That is unnecessary cruel. However, everyone should not be shove their religion/political opinion on everyone. Which I agree, the LGBT can't seem to handle. They blow everything out of proportion.
As someone who works at Starbucks I am ecstatic to hear this. It’s a big step against wokeism. They give us weekly updates to read and it’s full of woke crap, it makes it hard to take Starbucks seriously. I love my job and what I do so it’s a refreshing step back from whatever the hell is going on now. Although it’s only a small win in the grand scheme of things it’s one step closer to making it a better company.
It seems like there’s been less promotion of Pride Month in stores recently. I am thankful that the reaction to the absurd promotions from Bud Light and Target have made other companies tone down the narcissism. June is a needlessly unsettling month. Less than two weeks of this nonsense is left.
@@InternetMouse yeah as a supporter of Gay Marriage in 2010 even when Joe Biden and Obama did not support it - what is happening after 8 -12 years of LGBT acceptance is ridiculous. @@earlnoli True, community isn't the same as it was 10 or 20 years ago. Back then all were together because we couldn't count on gov or even society too much, and now? Community became such toxic place that you are either with us or against us, nothing in between. More and more of my friends that are part of community straight up stop supporting it because people there are more worried about lack of flags, merch and rainbow profiles on social media during Pride Month then actual problems like still lack of same sex LEGAL marriages in some countries and all of benefits that come with this, problems with transitioning because of lunatics trying to force everything on people and most importantly ON CHILDREN. It's now more about crying how they are opressed and who is more opressed in the community than doing anything good. Yeah, June is usually packed with rainbow stuff all over the place. I had to check my calendar, to see if June had been deleted or something like that.
As it turns out, if you’re a company that feeds into the pride movement, eventually they’ll ask you to financially support them as well. So, you have two choices: Support a cause that is never satisfied and any slight since of opposition causes excessive reactions or you can just sell coffee whilst not discriminating against workers alternative lifestyles and not have them impose their lifestyles on EVERYONE ELSE.
A friend of mine who used to be an assistant manager at a Starbucks had setup a table for memorial day. She was mandated to take it down. But yet they are demanding decorations to celebrate who they have sex with!!!! Last I checked, our veterans should come first
children as young as 4 can know if they're gay or not, and most lgbtq people know their identity to a degree by the age of 12, are you inferring that those children like to celebrate who they have sex with?
If all they have to complain about is no alphabet people flags, they're living a good life. Compare that to homeless veterans, cancer victims and the disabled.
Exactly. They hate the country that's given them such a good life and so many opportunities that the only thing they have to complain about is the lack of pride flags in a Starbucks.
And then someone who is for the decorations would aruge you could live with them hung up. Which I guess you could but like pride flags don't look good when you plaster rainbow flags in a green and beige type setting.
The whole thing makes my radar go off. One of the videos was supposedly an employee filming their peers taking down pride decor. Another one was a heated exchange supposedly happening AGAIN at the precise moment. So if some of the statements are theatrics, then some employees might be feigning outrage. Accusing your company of homophobia (egad!) is holding a gun to their head. If it was never company policy and it was just employees doing it, then carte blanche would allow a store to support any arbitrary political message. If partners are allowed to post whatever they want, it could lead to Starbucks with diametrically opposing messages.
@D-Jams I understand your point, but by the same token that means everyone else should be able to hang the Christian flag, confederate flag, and nazi flags, and any flags that large groups of people will find offensive.
when you said that its not pride month now but pride year i agreed. one teacher in my school had every lgbtq+ flag full size and the american flag was like the size of a phone. when she had to take them down she started crying about it and takeing every single decoration in her room down and eraseing the whiteboard too.
I have recently seen a video with some gay and lesbian people saying that they are not supporting pride because of the child abuse that it promotes. I guess companies will start dropping that so as not to be associated with pride anymore. That will be absolutely amazing.
They need validation to survive😂 so damn insecure about your lifestyle and want to be coddled you whole life is just insane The fact that their biggest problem is not having decor is so privileged
@donk8105 when that kind of content is all you see everyday and it's practically shoved in your face. It's not surprising. Humans, interestingly enough, can actually become irritated when they're only given one thing to view/ingest for months to years on end. Edit: it's like eating only one kind of food for years everyday. It's nice for the first few days. But then it becomes bland/ annoying by the next month and remains so. To add on with my own experience, I work retail. 98% of my co-workers are high school/college kids. Almost all of them (or close to it) are constantly spouting off about lgbtq and flashing pride content (as well as othe woke content). Which is fine, whatever, they do what works for them. But now factor in that I work 12 hour shifts almost every day. Take a guess at how fast (over the past three years) I became very annoyed/irritated with seeing that all the time.
@donk8105i just hope that when this conscious War kicks off that the lgbtq community sees the government and the money gate keepers as their true enemy and not the people who raised them.
Dude they took Christmas stuff out of Starbucks stores long ago and mocked anyone who didn't like that. lmao The hypocrisy kills me. THEY fought for it to be secular!
I used to work at Starbucks and we weren’t allowed to put up decorations for any holiday. It’s just for people who don’t celebrate that holiday. I think it’s funny that no one mentions the lack of Christmas decorations because we haven’t been able to put those up for years😂

God bless you, and thank you for your service. I quit going to Starbucks years ago because a veteran wearing his Vietnam veteran hat was refused service because of it. The kid was smug about it, and so was the manager that I asked to speak to about it. She agreed with the kid and encouraged it.... I flipped my shit on both of them and got my money back along with several other customers. I told her, "This man served his country, and you can't serve him a cup of coffee? You all can get f***ed! " I offered to buy him a cup of coffee at dunkin', he politely declined and told me that it was a sign to go ahead and buy the fancy coffee machine he and his wife were debating on buying.
My local Starbucks had no “pride” symbols at all this month. It is nice to go in there and not have woke crap in your face while you’re trying to relax over a cup of coffee. Thanks Starbucks.
If that's all it takes to make one feel unsafe, they shouldn't ever leave their homes. That's rhetoric straight off a myriad of LGBTQ+ forums or social media sites as I assume they weren't raised by parents to feel unsafe at the drop of a hat. My Mum was born early in WW2 in Liverpool, a large port/supply/manufacture city regularly bombed. THAT'S what you're allowed to feel unsafe over. In Australia we have a big pride parade in Sydney. That's it. No shop decorations/flags etc. So our queer people must go around on tenterhooks. Mind you, if they acted like gay people always have and didn't make pronouncements for attention, no one would know. Not that anyone cares what you are anyway.
They started saying stuff like that when being offended stopped working. Now they act like anything short of toeing the line is a hate crime, and anything you say to the contrary just proves that you're a bigot. It's called a Kafka trap. Plus if they claim to feel unsafe they can escalate to things like threats or actual violence and pretend it's justifiable.
I genuinely would like to ask if pride or pro LGBTQ+ images stands out so significantly that you are physically bothered by it? As a neutral party person, I dont even pay attention to whats on display. I get my coffee and leave because im only there for one thing; caffeine.
Starbucks is seeing how crazy these people are. You’re an undying ally for literal decades but one pushback, one step out of line, and you’re cancelled and labeled a hate group
Its wild how ppl can just decide they like something in the bedroom, tell everyone who will listen about it, go to war against anyone who suggests that it's unhealthy or they shouldn't want that... but STILL feel ashamed, all by themselves, just for being in the same space as someone they know is made uncomfortable by their kink, then deny that shame they feel while simultaneously blaming the other people for making them feel it, when they literally have done nothing other than be uncomfortable. Tolerance? Inclusivity? Couldn't be more opposite.
Also, kink requires consent. Consent by ALL parties including people who are just watching the kink show. They did not ask for our consent to see all this shit.
@@NiaLaLa_V I get what I think you're trying to say but its similar to saying "people shouldn't pray in public bc it subjects me to their religion" and the flaw in that argument is that it denies you have the autonomy to direct your attention elsewhere and it doesn't justify taking away someone's right to practice their religion and pray peacefully, if that is all they're doing. Kink is a noun not a verb, it's not something you do its a thing you have, and its synonymous in this context with "prefered sexual scenario". A person's kink is just a thing that turns them on, and any person has the right to pursue that thing if they choose to do so on the basis of it bringing them momentary pleasure. Because it is inherently sexual, by nature and definition, experiencing your kink should be done behind closed doors as a basic human courtesy to everyone else on the planet. If children/minors (who legally can not consent bc they're minors) are exposed to your kink, or sex in general, because you either didn't make a substantial effort to hide it or because your kink involves minors, you should be prosecuted no matter the extent of the exposure. The judge can decide if you made an honest mistake or you're actually a sick fuck. Having a kink that isn't biologically typical (not based on the urge to make babies with a healthy mate and preserve that new life) doesn't make you sick, but does make you sexually perverted by definition, and if you cant acknowledge that its scientifically abnormal for your species, evolution will root you out like the dodo birds. If you can acknowledge that, and you're willing to keep it tf in the shadows and away from children, then technically you have every right to hedonistically pursue your own gratification.
@@chelsea7755 the fact that I think what is a kink? I just said "what someone wants in the bedroom" and that is what a kink is, look it up. If you're associating what I said with a specific thing that is not a kink, but it is related to this, then please elaborate on what you mean. This way if I am misinformed or misunderstood, you will not be part of that problem... also I elaborated on my point in this thread, and on the definition of kink
I'm assuming you are straight. For the sake of argument we'll say you're a man. You shouldn't be proud of yourself for getting a girlfriend or a wife then because that's just advertising what you like in the bedroom. Oh, but that's not how the world works, is it? You actually like your girlfriend/wife as a person, Don't you? But you're not allowed to marry her or even just hold hands with her in public as that's advertising what you like in the bedroom. Acter all, all she is is a fuck toy to you. That's what it sounds like when you equate lesbian and gay relationships to people finding what they like in the bedroom. People in lesbian and gay relationships like their partners as people and see them as their friend and they love them. Now, we definitely dont need pride flags everywhere nor do we need to show off kinks or fetishes or anything like that. But just a same sex couple existing in the same way a straight couple would isn't fetish or kink; nobody should be offended by two women or two men holding hands since they aren't offended by a man/woman holding hands.
Have a gay-owned coffee shop near me that only celebrates Pride on the anniversary of the start of the Stonewall riots, so just one day, not the entire month…place is packed on that day, everyone’s having a good time, and the owners give out pamphlets about the LGBT liberation movement etc. Owners are genuinely the nicest couple ever, and it’s my favourite coffee spot year round. Other places celebrate pride the whole month and you wouldn’t really notice a difference in their customer size. I always thought this demonstrates they should have a Pride day instead and just go balls to the wall with it, I think it would be better received by the general public and not give people ammunition who complain about Pride being shoved down peoples throats.

Hopefully this will finally show the companies we are tired of them not selling their products with enforcing pride - trans, queer etc just became too much. I don’t want companies taking political views either. Treat every customer the same - no sexual identity needs to be announced or favored.
Companies don't care, they only care about good PR, because that leads to better sales. Many companies are dropping the Pride pandering because that's where the good PR is right now, after crap like the Bud Light, Target and Call of Duty fiascos, they never cared, and it's not -ist or -phobe to say it.

I think it is absolutely ridiculous that employee's are complaining about not being able to decorate - then don't work for Starbucks if you don't agree with what's happening. I promise you this is not that big of a deal. We have a right to not celebrate pride we have a right to feel comfortable not seeing that shoved in our faces.
I live in Saudi Arabia and here we celebrate things like Ramadan ,eid el fitr and eid al adha do you think starbucks decorates for us ....no they dont simply because it non of their business they are a western company haveing franchises in the country with them targeting you wallet it non of their business and i always respect them for that.

I’ve always found it funny that they want to be treated like a normal person but continually try to make themselves seem superior or more important than the average person
I work at a Starbucks inside a grocery store, so Starbucks isn't my employer, and we don't really have to deal with the union issues. (I am one of 2 conservatives who work there) We had the pride collection cups out on display and for sale, along with a sign describing the pride artists. People complained about the sign, so my manager took the sign down. Once our pride cups sold out my manager tried to order more, and SEVERAL times they cancelled her order for the cups, and refuse to send them to us. Which I am perfectly happy with.
They tried to do that on my job, telling us they will have two events: one would be to show a movie and the other would be to discuss a book about it and that everyone should attend either (or both) events. I chose neither. I don't take well to being told what to do, especially when it doesn't pertain to me.
In Australia we had a little crisis not so long ago, when one of our national football league teams found their jerseys had been adorned with ... you guessed it! And it was several of the younger Samoan and Tongan islander players who stood up and refused to take to the field thus adorned. They politely stated that they, and their families, held strong moral and religious beliefs and they weren't comfortable endorsing or advertising & celebrating a lifestyle which was directly at odds with their own religious views and morality. Tolerance and non-discrimination is one thing, but when you start requiring participation, endorsement and celebration of your own personal choices... you've gone too far.
As someone who lives in Canada, you can't go to a Starbucks without seeing at least one pride flag, if this is changing then maybe, just maybe I will consider actually buying from star bucks.

This is a step in the right direction, we just need more companies to take a stance. When I'm shopping or having a coffee etc the last thing I want is a useless rainbow flag shoved in my face!
I agree. I'm an older gay man from a saner generation and frankly, I say take it all down, we don't need it! I am going to refer to this current "community" as "they" or "them" because I no longer belong to it. I do not agree with what they now represent and the agenda they are pushing. They don't dictate to me how to think and what to believe. They are not being under represented, and it's not an attack on them. The message is, you're not special, you're not a celebrity, stop acting like spoiled, privileged narcissists, there are no laws discriminating against you, it's time to grow up and stop throwing your sexuality in people's faces. Try to be responsible American citizens and show some respect and decorum. Respect is a two way street. These spoiled "victims" don't know how good the have it now days and they are an insult to the people back in the day that truly fought for equal rights. @@petera618 While not a gay man, per se, I did attend my share of gay events in the 70s. And I have to agree with you. Back then it was so much more respectful by the gay community. They just wanted to be left alone (fair enough), to be and feel safe (ditto), to not be actively discriminated against (ditto, again). Most would probably back then got a chuckle out of a gay pride march, but as for flaunting gayness in general public and inflicting flags on people, reading stories in drag to prep children, and misappropriating rainbows 🌈, etc, I suspect most would have been a bit put off.

I'm surprised how annoyed I can be with my own community. When I was little it truly felt like a community and gave me a feeling of not being alone. Nowadays, pride is about being different and pushing how you think on others and I strongly disagree with that. I don't need people to know my sexuality, I'd love to just love who I want since I have no control over it. But that said, back when I was younger I had to go to a special pride store to get books and movies that were about 2 women falling in love and I hate how people are so stuck up they feel that pride flags should hang out everywhere and they should be celebrated constantly for being different, and if they're not different or interesting enough they'll change their pronouns every week.. I swear covid made people go crazy.
Back then it was fight to show society that we aren't some mentally ill people like media and religions liked to portray us, then slow steps and try to get same sex marriages and also law benefits comming from marriage but then something broke and here we are with lunatics being big part of community and giving bad name to rest that just want to have normal lifes and that don't really need some pride month to feel special. And situation will just get worse and worse over the years to the point community AGAIN will be seen as mentally ill people and lunatics and THEN people will see what real opression is and cry how theya re opressed.
Completely agree, i’m gay and i used to love having a community full of people like me. But that’s not what it’s about anymore, it’s about who can be the most oppressed. I’ll see myself out!
Honestly feels like Trump made people go crazy. Before 2016 a lot of the leftist propaganda shit seeping in felt very incremental and hush-hush. Then they seem to have realized that they didn't have as much power as they thought and went full-blown third reich far-left batshit insane. Feels like all the recent grooming stuff is because they know they need more brainwashed victims in the future to vote for their "allies". It's unfortunate that they threw normal gay people under the bus and pushed these schizophrenics into their community to become the vocal minority
@@hewhorocketh Oh, I thought you were just talking about Starbucks. I remember there was a controversy a few years ago about the holiday cup design not being Christmasy.

I used to work for Starbucks. They had great benefits when I worked there. And I can only imagine how expensive it got for the business once they said "hey we will have your insurance pay for your surgeries." Once the company started having to pay for it, they said yeah hard pass. We are taking that away. It's kind of common sense on why they would take that benefit away.

Pride Month is not just a month, it’s a movement. Gay hate crimes happen every day, everywhere, you can’t be gay openly in some places, a lot of parents will disown their kids for not being straight/cisgender, etc. Until all those things end, Pride Month will go on. An easy target that won’t fight back or challenge you, but also won’t solve your problems.

Exactly. As a former employee as well, if we wanted to decorate something in store we had to ask our managers permission first. But it’s also men’s mental health month
But that’s ignored so much that I learned about it halfway through the month because pride is more important that men not feeling like they can talk about there mental health
It's also PTSD Awareness Month and Indigenous Month.
Independence day is the one that should change it to a month because it's the most meaningful celebration not these "oh im depressed" month type of syits
Yeah, it's truly sad how much media dismisses men's well-being.
Sad but true 😢
Is men are used to getting overlooked and dismissed

The things that "make these people feel unsafe" is beyond me. That types of hills they're willing to die on is insane.

The fact you think it's a "choice" or a "kink" is the problem.
From a linguistic point of view, it is good to see that there is finally growing recognition that "inclusion" is in fact "EXclusion."

7:55 So she already paid for the drink, but is not going to drink it? You've already given them the money.... that is a strange way to boycott a company.
People are stupid, that's the only explanation I can offer.
That cause this was set up
I'm surprised how annoyed I can be with my own community.
Well said.
You can be gay without having to be part of the community

I don’t remember anyone complaining about a lack of Christmas decorations anywhere…
Yeah, people did complain about that.
@@brittybee6615 I mean shops specifically. Different for streets etc.

@@hewhorocketh Yep, that’s when I stopped going too.
If you work at a chain store/restaurant/etc., it's normal for corporate to want all of the stores to look the same and have everything set up the same way. And a lot of them don't even let you put up decorations for any of the different holidays.
Once my mom went up to the barista and told them how ridiculous the whole pride thing is lmao
You know whats ridiculous your face and also your mom

When are people going to realize that Big companies Just don't give a crap if you're gay or not?
I'm thinking about getting a job at Starbucks, so if their actually dropping the pride shit, that's good with me.
It’s still ridiculously woke. I had to be so annoyingly careful working there. Customers will also assume you’re super woke and talk to you about their favorite woke topics lol. Just a warning. If you can deal with that it’s a fun job if you just keep it about the actual job :)
@@ykwtfim thanks for the warning, tbh I'm a teen and I find making coffee therapeutic, I'll make these woke folks into part of that therapy.
Literally same, i had called a coworker girl “she” and another co worker corrected me and said they identified as “he” and i just turned around and said i had to go to the bathroom
@@p.c1892 god, that's a pickle. Now it's just so hard to figure out someone's pronouns, I remember in like elementary school, we had this principle who called herself "Mista Wolf" now that I'm older, I'm beginning to realize how that lady was probably gender fluid. Stuff completely flies over your head as kid, it flies by your head when your older.
@@p.c1892 😬. How did you continue relating with this co-worker?
One of my good friends is a SB manager & he said that SB is not allowing ANY type of decorations. His store used to decorate for Halloween, Valentine’s Day, and other holidays/themes, but because SB wants ALL stores to be uniformed they had to stop. It’s not just the LGBTQ+ community. It’s literally any type of decorations lol
totally. the only thing is seasonal is the coffee itself.
Amazing how they can take an unfortunate, but understandable policy and turn it into a personal attack, huh?
I used to work for Starbucks. They had great benefits when I worked there. And I can only imagine how expensive it got for the business once they said "hey we will have your insurance pay for your surgeries." Once the company started having to pay for it, they said yeah hard pass. We are taking that away. It's kind of common sense on why they would take that benefit away.
Give em an inch and they will take a cross country road trip to discover themselves.

As someone thats works at starbucks. The company wants to be inclusive and if anyone feels affended then they wont do it. We arent truly allowed to have Christmas decorations cause many people dont celebrate. This started becoming a thing about 2 years ago cause everyone is sensitive.
I stopped drinking beer before the Bud Light boycott started. I stopped drinking coffee a little before the Starbucks drama started. Coincidence?
Yeah, it’s a coincidence. 😂
Dude, stop supporting every lgbt and liberal company. Maybe you're the ultimate hero to save us.
No it’s not!
Could you stop watching movies/TV next?
😂😂
@@emaanfaisal8145 then he'd have to stop watching youtube because they added these emojis , not only that but on the computer version you cant use country flags like the American flag who our veterans fought for but can use the gay and trans flag which represent sin.
What happens when you start doing something then? Will it explode and become super popular? Join a church!!
I want a Family Pride Month, celebration of a traditional family.
Yes please!!! For real!
Coffee really shouldn’t be this serious. If I had a coffee shop I would want it to be as welcoming to everybody as I could possibly make it. Companies that put out all this pride stuff isn’t doing that.
i’ve noticed something, they put pride bs, they lose sales, when they take it down. The sales come flooding back
Exactly just be neutral- don’t have to have anything out. People are too sensitive these days
Couldn’t agree more. I LOVE the fact that I don’t see ANY rainbow flags at my local Starbucks this year! It was always SO uncomfortable when they had them up years prior. This is the least gay June in 7 years, and I FUCKING LOVE IT❤️.
@@bellamichelle6248 That's ironic because you guys feel unwelcome because they sell rainbow stuff. Who is sensitive really?
How is selling rainbows unwelcoming to anyone lmao
It’s the way you slide in those ads lol. I really sit through them. 😂 amazed
When I was a teenager back around 2005, and the first Starbucks came to our area in Michigan, my mom and grandma told me they were never taking us there because they were a leftist socialist company.
To this day I can count on one hand the number of times I've had Starbucks. Been boycotting since before it was cool. 😆
maybe they’re realizing that telling kids that their body isn’t good enough and that they should permanently change it because that’s the only way they can love themselves is WRONG?!?!
False.
My respect for Starbucks 📈📈📈
I had no idea there was "transgender benefits" as well. So messed up
Its business nothing else. These mega corporate firms are greedy and would sell their parents to make more money

Amen! We are more than our sexual orientation. I don’t go demanding rainbows everywhere. What I am tired of is people thinking that is what I want. I have more important things to worry about and there are many parts to me. We are so much more. I swear. These people don’t like pride but they sure talk about it so damn much. I don’t get it lol
@@davida.flores5410that's what I've always said.. that that's just a small portion of your personality and by just identifying yourself by sexual orientation doesn't really do you any justice. Pride Month is not just a month, it’s a movement. Gay hate crimes happen every day, everywhere, you can’t be gay openly in some places, a lot of parents will disown their kids for not being straight/cisgender, etc. Until all those things end, Pride Month will go on. Even then, I don’t see why it should end. However, Starbucks isn’t doing anything wrong. I’m just happy they’re allies, and hope more people realize they are apart of the solution, not the problem
Who would have thought a company wants to keep making money 💰
Lmao 🤣. They should set up their own company and make it all about pride. Let's see if pride will keep them afloat. Clowns
They won't.
i used to work at starbucks, and i’m not even joking some people would pull up to the speaker and list their pronouns to me before even ordering their coffee..
like great?? just order your damn drink.
i also had a “lady” scream at me because i called her ma’am without knowing her preferred pronouns😀
Also during pride month we were required to wear a little rainbow pin on our name tag and oml i had people yell at me for that too, you just can’t win😭😭
that happened to a gay friend of me 💀 bro was called homophobic and transphobic
What does their pronouns have to do with their order? Just give us your name. No more information is needed.
I used to work at Starbucks up until recently and I never had an issue with customers wanting me to address them by their "preferred pronouns", it was usually my co-workers who were uptight about it.
my pronouns are Master/Sir
Pronouns are just a way for little people to feel bigger
I thought this was a joke until I drove past the super woke Starbucks near my job that had pride stuff 24/7. And it’s all gone. All the pride stuff is gone. I’m shocked and happy! Lol
We live in a age and time were a person with a dog or cat as a "child" gets more rights and it's treated better than a person with a real human child, wtf?! Why do we need to have all that LGBT crap slapped into our faces in a place where you're supposed to relax and enjoy your favorite coffee drink?. These places should be completely neutral, unbiased and treat EVERYONE with the same respect and courtesy, no exceptions.
About time starbucks does something good after charging $5 for a damn coffee
It's $10 now, where I live, for the largest size cup.
$5 was pre covid
This is crazy, I literally went there earlier today and saw the decorations. This is getting on my nerves so bad.
Why?
Yep. It's EVERYWHERE.
wow a fabric with colors on it is getting on your nerves, and you call the liberals sensitive
My absolutely favourite thing about this is that they're being told they can't have the pride flag because it's not inclusive to the people who aren't in the "community". HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT INCLUSIVITY NOW? 😂
I don't always agree with you, but I like the fact that you're sharing your opinions in a respectful manner, keep going!
These attention deprived people are exhausting in every way!
