I like the interesting dynamic that he took. He became the thoughtless yelling angry person he hated because he didn't receive what he wanted and he didn't take the time to think about what to say first. I think that this actually gives us some food for thought in how we address ourselves (and others) in politics. It doesn't really matter what political group you belong to because the most important parts are the dialogues and compromises. Also, being in a political group is just that... identifying yourself with a certain group. If that matters more than bringing the national debt down or making sure that we can provide food for everyone, then we have bigger issues to deal with in our future.

I love that white girl on the stage she is way too good at acting negative roles. Makes me dislike that character.

Wow... Fantastic work, Neel and co. I've taken a few minutes to decipher this one... Both sides of politics are hypocritical and morally corrupt, despite their best intentions to look after their own "people" - except for the libertarian alternative, by which seeks to protect no one, hence why the actors had died. The libertarian alternative was a sample that was against the fundamental idea of sampling, much like how libertarianism is fundamentally against the idea of government intervention. The protagonist, assumedly Neel, then breaks down in anger and frustration at what the samples are and what they stand for and how he doesn't like any of them... he yells and rants... He becomes extreme for a split second for not calmly leaving the table and "ordering online" immediately after seeing his options. He was sucked into the performance and he became apart of the samples... Fortunately, he withdrew in self-awareness before anyone could say a word to him... Neel played an interesting role which I've yet to determine... Perhaps the greater will of society? A strange embodiment of the idea of a republic or democratic system? I'm not sure.
Anyway, those are my initial thoughts. Fantastic acting, smart, deep... Thought provoking.

My thought about Neel's role is that he's playing the person new to politics who is still making opinions and is looking at both sides. Wether this is a child or a young adult who's coming up to vote, I think he plays out the struggles of seeing 2 sides of a coin and having to pick one. He can only have one option, so he felt pressured by both sides to pick theirs.

teh y In response to your point, I would argue that these people don't make caricatures of your arguments because they are feminists, it's because they are assholes. Although some feminists do lack the maturity to have a proper argument, feminism isn't the cause of this. If these people didn't have feminism, they would have another important issue/ social movement that they exploit to exert their own hatred. Feminism is simply a vessel for these people to spread hatred, and so I don't think feminism should be abandoned, but the small group of people within this social movement that use it to spread hatred should be abandoned. I think it is a responsibility of the feminist community to shame people who are using their platform to spread hate and tarnish the once good reputation that feminism had.

Whilst I am probably a bit more left, I am happy calling myself a centrist. I've had the chance to listen to solid arguments on the right, which have changed my mind on specific issues. Political inclinations for most are on a spectrum. However, some people keep voting for their party over and over again because they gullibly believe that those broken promises are purely the work of the other party instead of placing the blame where it lies - on the incompetence and lies of their own party.

He literally omited libertarian ideas by ignorantly implying that a lack of an imposed health regulation would kill people or make more people die... In reality, in a libertarian world there would be far less people dying from deseases simply because the private sector is much more efficient(and therefore cheaper) than the public sector: people would have to pay less to private health insurances than the fraction of their taxes allocated towards the pathetic imposed public "health security". Even if there was no public corruption, the private sector is more efficient simply because a politician will never manage other's money with the same caution as he manages his own because of the lack of action of survival and fear instincts. It's the human condition.
Not to mention that with far less taxes people would have more control over their resources and therefore more power and confidence, which inevitable results in less depression and other mental health problems and consequently less self-destructuve behaviour such as drugs or alcohol addiction.
Society would be not only far more free, but also far healthier, wealthier and happier. The only obstacle are psycopath politicians who don't care at all about society and the ignorant and irresponsible people who let them manipulate their feelings against them. The worst part is not that they let them manipulate them, but that the reason they are manipulated is that they accept to steal money and resources from others to get benefit from it. Ultimately the problem is envy, resentment, irresponsibility, selfishness and lack of ethics.

Thank you, I needed this video. People often forget that it this behavior doesn't just come from the left and many of us really need to watch ourselves. We should not just exaggerate the enemy and associate a million things with their words instead of hearing them out and having open discussion. My school is starting a Feminist Club. I had planned on joining just to troll, be condescending, see how long before they kick me out, etc, but this video has inspired me, in a manner of speaking, to attend as someone on the other side of the political field and try to have that respectful, reasonable, and open discussion. Maybe I'll get eaten alive and kicked out the second I say that I am not a feminist, but at least I'm trying to do right on my part.

This is probably the best acting short I have seen in a long long time.
I think the point of this video was to emphasize the growing distance between the “center right” and “center left”. Our current political climate is increasingly divisive and everyone is forced to side with an extreme.
I consider myself pretty far on the left, but I recognize that we won’t be able to get anything done without compromise. And the painful thing is, it’s pretty hard to see where that compromise will come from when our politicians are all one of the depicted extremes.
Both sides need to drop the anger, hate and attacking discord and need to come to the center and discuss each issue for its merits based on facts and some compassion. Balance the Head and the Heart.

I once (by the request of a friend) took the political compass test to see where I my view on politics is. I'd like to mention that I rarely watch the news or interact with politics in general. Thankfully, the questions were layed out so that each question focused on specific ideas in certain fields, so even someone like me could answer them.
At the end of it all, the political compass quiz will show your position on a grid based on your answers. The grid is divided into 4 sections: Left, Right, Authoritarian and Libertarian. As an example, one could find a position that is 31% Left and 12% Aithoritarian or maybe one that is 16% Right and 26% Libertarian.
After answering all of political compass' questions, the result that was shown to me suprised me a bit. My position is almost dead in the center. No slight leaning towards the left or the right. Only a almost not noticable, single digite leaning towards the libertarian side of the grid.
I don't know, I always hear people calling the right anti-science, but "anti-science" just seems to mean "not agreeing with all liberal ideas about what's scientific and what isn't." Can we talk about the fact that almost everyone who tells the public what "science" says about a particular subject is on the left? It doesn't mean they're automatically wrong, but it does seem like a serious conflict of interest. (And academia these days isn't very tolerant when it comes to diversity of thought or diversity of political leanings.)

Eh that just might be your own bias then. They are both shown to ignore their own faults and blindly support leaders that even goes against their own values. On the far left side you have hate for anyone who goes against their feelings, and on the far right, you have hate for people who are not white and christian. It mellows out as you get more center but point is, you most certainly missed the point.
I don't think this was totally accurate. For example the only reason people bring up crime statistics is because someone on the left acts like people are being put in jail for no reason. Also the part where you said people aren't talk was a bit off. I know a lot of people on the right willing to talk but I don't find many on the left willing to do the same. The left just seems to yell racist or sexist and considers that an argument. I'm a right leaning minarchist myself and would be will to talk to the other side.

I used to be on the left and now I'm in the moderate center and I feel great. The main reason for centrism is that I love science and I feel like it isn't being applied as broadly as it should be by both sides.

Seems to me we're past that point. With the internet giving everyone a platform - no matter their competence, the masses are incapable of differentiating between the messages that make sense and those that simply fit their current school of thought, regardless of whether or not they have a reflection in reality.
Most of our society found their own echo chambers of choice and are completely unwilling to step outside, even for a moment.

Ryzaer so I agree that most of society has found there own echo chambers and it's horrible how people can't discuss issues without yelling slogans and rhetoric and trying to silence the other. The issue tho lies in supposed free speech platforms that are supposed to encourage intellectual diversity do not anymore. UA-cam and google as we have seen recently, have been making strides to try and turn this platform into a leftist echo chamber, where if you don't speak what they speak you will be demonetized, shadowed and fired.
To rely on the internet as a free speech platform is to rely on the millions of echo chambers that will never mix. There's a website for everything now, and everyone on there is completely convinced.
The beauty of what UA-cam once was, was that it had no agenda, no motive, it was cut from all ties of mainstream media. UA-cam is a centralized platform that has a virtual monopoly in the business. As we have seen recently sadly that power is abused. It's alright to ban a video on isis because they incite violence, but to mass flag and demonetize anyone that simply speaks differently is wrong.
And sadly university's are following suit. Teachers will fail you if you don't agree with them and only the free speech on one side is emphasized.
It truly is sad how these services that are supposed to value intellectual diversity and help the population become strong independent thinkers is being corrupted.

Buttbutt, that's what the government wants you to believe. What it won't tell you is that monopoly is almost entirely a function of state power. You cannot have a sustained monopoly without coercion or totally awesome unbeatable service. The latter is pretty much impossible, which just leaves coercion. You were taught by your public school to fear monopoly. The irony of that is the public school is nearly a monopoly itself and it does a horrible job. Your lack of knowledge on the truth of this subject is a perfect example.
I was a libertarian before but stopped being one after I got a grip on how economics work.
There's a difference between state monopoly on creating laws and controlling things and private monopolies that own everything through money.
State itself can be changed by people so everyone can become a politician, hold referendums and chose representatives in the government (except for some places like US, where corporations already are a significant part of the government).
Private companies on the other hand usually are closed and really often go from father to son, meaning that you create somewhat of a feudal system, the only difference between libertarian and feudal society is that instead of land libertarians use money instead of land. While free market may work short-term, generation after generation it will become more and more corrupt and feudal-like.

They've been making UA-cam worse and worse ever since they've bought it, yet nobody left using it. Why? Because there are no big alternatives and there aren't any in the close future. Any competion is either too bad to be competition or is bought by these companies in the begining of their existance.

I always love Neel's videos! I see this kind of stuff happen all the time around me in day-to-day life, where people preach acceptance and equality for all people regardless of gender, race, religion, etc. but they consider certain groups to be exceptions somehow? My philosophy has always been to treat others as you'd want to be treated. I get that certain groups have faced much more oppression (for example, I'm white and I get that black people may face more racism than me, for sure) but it does not good to turn around and hate a majority group for something they can't help such as their skin color or sexuality. I'm white but I'm against racism of any kind, and I would never treat someone badly for their skin color--that's something they can't help. But regardless, people turn around and assume that I'm some kind of terrible, oppressive person just for being white. Moral of the story here: if you want to recruit someone for your cause, you'll catch many more flies with honey than you will with vinegar. I'm all for equal rights for everyone, but I think if social justice warriors stopped shaming white, straight, and cis people and started showing people kindness instead, they'd receive a lot more kindness in return. Be the better person, everyone!
