I have got my new Atto 3 BUT without driving recorder app, can you tell me how to get it ?
@@talor012Not sure, sorry. I thought it was part of the standard package. I'd get in touch with your dealer.
@@stormjuice It's in your menu of recordings. Happens automatically so click on the screen and search.
the mic switch on the steering wheel is for the driver, and picks up from a Directional Microphone aimed at the driver
You can trigger the voice control by saying "Hi, BYD". It is also shown on the side of the screen.
For the driver only.... passenger has to shout, as the mic is on the driver side.

Cheers dude! I enjoyed spending time with David, and had a good laugh obviously. It definitely showed me the GoPro audio was too good at picking up everything, so I went and bought some Rode Wireless Go 2 mics, which you can hear in the latest video... so much better!
In voice command say Help. You can then get a list of available voice commands many of which have to be given in a specific word order.

lol, there is no need to say please to the machine. did you limit the voice control to driver only? the car may be able to tell which seat the voice command comes from, that is typical nowadays.

You can either say 'Hi BYD' or press the button on the steering wheel. It's either just mic'd up for the driver, or the Atto 3 just didn't like my voice (probably that :) ).
The driver should not be keeping the remote key in the phone charging area it can damage the remote key
True, so I bought a console insert ($20 at Aliexpress) with 3 small trays and it's perfect.
It lifts out so you can "hide" quite large items underneath it.

Something's to say about byd Atto 3 getting corrosion? I have ordered my Atto 3 and getting it end of March. Corrosion rumors are worrying me.

After You installed apps do you still get OTA software future update ?
I don't own the Atto 3 sorry Pa Rich, but David did install the apps in his first week, then got the OTA as well. If it had done something to the OTA's, there would have been an uproar.
How is the quality of the hi-fi system? Can it play FLAC files from USB?
Apparently it sounds good. Better than the MG ZS EV (from what I've heard from ex MG owners). Doubt it would play FLAC though. Ask on the BYD forums and report back.

How's it connected to the internet and allowing you to watch UA-cam videos?
in China，it has a 5G SIM card inside. You can subscribe the service. Or you can share you mobile network to it by hot spot

Telstra sim in Australia I believe. 2GB. Free for the first 2 years, then 3 zillion $ per month after that :)
You need to first train the vehicle to recognize your voice then it will take orders from you.
You can even cook outside if you have a electric stove😂
Exactly. I love this feature. Definitely will be a standard one going forward I think.
Not sure why so many are obsessed with a front boot, as it would be a pain in the arse to have to pop the bonnet then prop it open every time you need to access it, while the boot or hatch is more than big enough to fit everything you need
It's really handy for smaller things, including charging cables if you are on a road trip. The more storage space the better :)
Sadly BYD has just been rated as having the worst reliability of any EV. Significant safety concerns with dodgy traction control and lousy driver assist features. These folks don’t seem to be aware that the huge depreciation of cheap Chinese evs actually make total cost of ownership higher than quality built evs. The lousy handling and performance and slow charging put the finishing touches on what will be a poor first experience with evs for these people.
Can you give us some links? It's always the biggest test... long term ownership. My Leaf is brilliant, except for the passive cooled battery. If they'd put in proper battery temp management and active cooling......
