Rhys this is not only tied perfectly it gives a solid nudge to the fly that presided the wee devil. Most commercially produced Bachs are massively over dressed. Open turns over the thread body ticks all the boxes. Saves time and makes effective use of materials. The double up of the whip finish is not only belt and braces, it gives the slightly rounded larger head this fly needs. Just like with your fishing. Your skills behind the vice are clearly the result of years of perfecting and practicing your skillsets. Always give it your best, enjoy but be open to changes as required. That is the difference between a dedicated successful anger and the person who spends time on the water. With absolutely nothing working for them. That subtle helpful hint with fly selection, presentation, and technique. It helps them grow and evolve.

@@RhysFishes Just stating as I see mate. You along with Lindsay Simpson are two guys who simply share your love of fly fishing in all of its many forms. You speak from a base of many years of experience. With your only agenda being to help others to improve and learn how subtle changes make an important difference. Fish blindly and you simply fail to see. Helping others to grow and improve is a pass on the torch moment. Eventually if people stop enjoying something they give it up. We help others it is a ripple on the lake. Help them, later they help others. What we do today effects tomorrow.

If so, mich appreciated. Sorry that this is a bit off topic 😌 thanks again for all the great Stillwater vids. Cheers, michael

It's a fly designed to replicate mainly stillwater insect life but it will also work on a river for wild brown trout.

Hi found your channel and you got a sub from me amazing content thanks for sharing so you have any information for me as to buying a fly tying kit as I would like to start to tie my own you give such inspiration in your videos
    Many thanks .Clive .

I’d avoid buying a kit. Start of with the basic tools:
      Vice
      Bobbin holder
      Needle
      Whip finish tool
And then choose flies to tie. Eggs are very simple to tie or if you want to learn the fundamentals start by purchasing the materials for a pheasant tail. Join a local fly tying club, there you’ll get on hand knowledge of how to tie which will be invaluable

Any ties always start with the hook, so that should be the first mentioned; make model & size. So make mention of the hook first.
