As I'm from Northern Ireland we'll never meet. And man, I appreciate your videos. I grew up beside a river like the one in this video. Just no where near as clean. Caught loads of small wild brown trout and many a freezing. Happy happy childhood.
Thank you for NOT telling us where you are fishing. Doing our own research is part of the price to pay and also part of the pursuit. It feels so nice to “discover” uncrowded streams on our own. Tight lines.
Thanks Drew for taking us along on another great fishing adventure. I can't believe you pulled two nice cuttys out of that small hole starting @ 9:40 to around 10:50. Really nice water!
Guide Choice Hare's Ear, is a great fly. Nice that somebody left you a couple of bottles of craft beer. Its always a treat to have a good cold one after a long productive day of fishing.
Another great video, Drew. Also a nice camp and a visit from the Beer Fairy. All this time I thought the Beer Fairy was just a legend like the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. lol
Having someone leave beers for you. How cool is that? Nothing better after a long day on stream than a nice cold brew. Another great video Drew. Gorgeous stream.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. The fishing is great but Mother Nature is epic. Texas is home and this where my heart is but to truly clean my soul a trip to the mountains and their water. This is beautiful. Stay safe out there. Blessings Everyone !!!
Drew, Thank you so much for all that you have done to influence my flyfishing endeavors. We pulled into that exact spot last week, and I had my best day flyfishing. I would not be where I am without your videos. Your top shelf hopper and perdigon dropper were money. My wife scored with the Dorsey indicator above a perdigon. Hope to run across you again on a stream. Thanks again.
Always enjoy your videos Drew! And not just the fishing but the setup, conditions, the challenges, the successes and stories about people you encounter along the way. Definitely makes want to try something like this sometime soon!! Take care and God Bless You Always Drew🙏🏻❕❕ Michael C.
Your videos have been brilliant Drew, some gorgeous places for fishing. A bit chilly still here in Scotland but may just be warm enough this weekend for some dry fly action! Tight Lines
Beautiful spot. I look forward to your videos. I just retired and am hoping to do a similar road trip with my travel trailer and my 2 GSPs. Life is good. All the best to you.
What a great spot drew lots of nice fish in the river i really enjoyed it thanks for sharing big like from me bud tight line's 🎣and catch you on the next video 👍
Great video. Just sitting here thinking what about a video of cleaning and Pan frying a fish? Also, love to have a beer with this guy and low and behold two beers show up. Keep doing what you do.
I'm hard of hearing. What's the fly? I listened over and over again 7:20 and all I can make out is "sky swers irahid"? Anyway, what a fine day fishing. I really enjoyed it.
For a while i just thought you were releasing the same fish...😂 Until the big white one turned up. A floss indicator and a weighted nymph fly is a New Zealand nymphing technique. Not cheating but works well in small fast fliwing rivers. My favourite fishing. Small rivers , streams n isolated lochs
heck i am old but i have caught so many when i did not use a marker at the end of the run or sometime before when jerking it back to cast... love it still... dang that place needs to be thined out bad!!!! I am a great trout browner took me 21 years to master trout cooking and one of the best ways involves a microwave 1 to 2 minutes on each side and it is just like it was cooked in a resturant!! I know you already know this but find some swift water with some rocks with soft water spots behind them where the bigger trout lay and run your earplug sideways and in the swift the line loops so you have to make a larger jerking motion but the sidewaysmarker will set the hook most of the time if you feed it going downstream a little slower than a free spool ( sorry an open face term) Thank you!!
Dude, I know you did a video on it from the NC series, but how do you find these camping spots? I am not asking for a honey hole or a blue line, but I live in eastern NC and have made several trips out to western NC. All I can ever find is family type camp sites, or back country routes.
So what’s the secret dod I miss it. Guide choice hares ear with A splitshot 6 inches up. Then what was your indicator. A dry or was it New Zealand Wool?
Hey! Around 11:24 I can see some movement of some figures on that gravel bar in the middle of the stream, were those just smaller trout mulling around, not caring about you? Just curious as to what could be in the water and not be spooked by you fighting a fish!
Hi Drew. Marlon all the way from South Africa. Just wondering if you have ever fished internationally. Maybe you would like to come try our streams in the eastern cape or in Cape Town. We have not as wide a selection as your country but some interesting waters. Not many UA-cam videos though. Cheers.
Drew, thanks for all the info you provide. Question about your top shelf hopper…With the Fireholes being barbless, what’s your approach for tying in the dropper/nymph?
Love your clips bud! I’m a lot like you … traveling around camping and fishing! I hope I run into you sone day and we can throw sone bugs together! Cheers stay well.
So...I don't mean to be the skunk at the picnic here but... is this not titled "The simple one fly rig, deadly anywhere you fly fish"?? I watch talk about oil changes, groceries lots of silence and beautiful fish caught. Then at 7:11 a quick muffled name of the fly and weight. Maybe a whole 5 seconds talking about what is in THE TITLE? You seem to be doing great followers and all. but was hoping to " learn a bit more"
My videos are just entries into my online adventure journal which I keep public for others that might want to see all the places I travel/fish/camp. For example this was maybe 5 weeks of a 9 week trip with roughly 50 vids. I titled it for my regular viewers who often ask for more info on which flies I recommend so they knew it included that info as well as the lifestyle/vlog stuff. Hope that explains my channel and the vids I share. Got a bunch of dedicated how to, tips, walk thru and gear reviews on my channel also.

You are the envy of many in the fly fishing world....including me!!!
Thanks for the good vibes!
I second that!
I agree he rivals and surpasses even Gary.
Yes he is
I’m still in my babies step

That was awesome to find at camp! Gche has caught a ton of fish for me!
Another great video, Drew. Also a nice camp and a visit from the Beer Fairy. All this time I thought the Beer Fairy was just a legend like the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. lol
Haha, I was skeptical but now I'm a believer!
Having someone leave beers for you. How cool is that? Nothing better after a long day on stream than a nice cold brew. Another great video Drew. Gorgeous stream.
Couldn't agree more! They were super friendly. Those are the experiences I look forward to most!
Haven't seen your vids since I moved from Utah to Oregon. Had to switch gears. Good to watch this video. Thnx
What a great spot to camp and do a little fishing. Enjoy!
Thanks for the moment of chill after a long week, Drew!
Any time!

Texas don’t got this…sorry
The camping spots you find ….WOW
Lucky you! Great day on a nice little river! Hare’s ears….always a good choice!
Another nice stream drew, it's good to know with a little effort you can still get away. So peaceful, also really nice fish. Enjoyed watching. 👍
It was a great day on a beautiful stream.
Another incredible installment.
Thanks man!

Big thanks!
Enjoyed all the videos. Thanks Bro!
Great vid, Drew!
Looks like a fun day Drew. Gotta love fans bearing gifts! 😁
Hhahah thats was cool, someone left the beer. Nice video mate and nice fishing there with beautiful nature, Hello from Bosnia
Great video there, enjoyed the action and scenery you videoed! Very serene!
Thank you very much!
Your spot is PERFECT!
Fishing, camping, swimming, relaxing... just PERFECT!
Hopefully the mozzies & flies won't be much of a bother there.
Always enjoy your videos Drew!
And not just the fishing but the setup, conditions, the challenges, the successes and stories about people you encounter along the way.

Love your videos. Watching you has improved my fishing heaps. Inspiring. Enjoy your trip.
Great to hear!

That sounds like a good time!
Eanding the day with free beer. Can’t beat that after nice fishing.
Definitely the highlight of the day!
This has to be the most enjoyable set of fly fishing films I have ever seen. Well done Drew. I now dream of fishing on America's west coast.
Beautiful spot. I look forward to your videos. I just retired and am hoping to do a similar road trip with my travel trailer and my 2 GSPs. Life is good. All the best to you.
Amazing how many times you drifted under that rock outcropping before you hooked up. Admire your patience. Definitely enjoying your videos.
Nice clean clear aerated water - from a British fly fisher
Tight lines this season! Maybe I'll see you out there. Will b sure to drop you a few beers...
Drew, great video. The white fish, I always think I've got a nice trout when one hits. But, white fish are tasty.
I'm ready to go fishing now. Will be heading up to the rockies.
deadly camp spot love it
Beautiful stream and trout , that whitefish was a tank !
Yes it was!
Another great fishing video
Much appreciated!

Was just thinking you gotta throw a bush/tree fish in there once and while, and low and behold. Great content, as always.
Haha, definitely gotta add some of the context!
I never use indicators, but I have to admit they work, definitely.
Why not?
@@jaroddunn6823 Because I strogly believe in holding the line with my fingertips. It worked for more than 25 years.
*strongly*
It also disturbes your precise line throwing. Especially on small creeks. It does not make any added value to me, anyway.
Good stuff Drew.
Great video like always
Well done!
Nice video!
Cool spot thanks for sharing.

What was the rig?😅
So what’s the secret dod I miss it. Guide choice hares ear with A splitshot 6 inches up. Then what was your indicator. A dry or was it New Zealand Wool?
Beer faeries??? Truly magical!!
Great video 👍what was the set up again all the way from Scotland 🏴 uk
Do you have an Sasquatch experience?
Just found your channel and subbed ... beautiful video. looking forward to going though the others, God bless. ✝
Gotta love a good cut bank
Bobber Fly Rig fishing with little to no casting. Looks fun!
Man, you have trout in those rivers !!
Looked like a great day..
The best!
Hey! Around 11:24 I can see some movement of some figures on that gravel bar in the middle of the stream, were those just smaller trout mulling around, not caring about you? Just curious as to what could be in the water and not be spooked by you fighting a fish!
What rod is that?
Love those small cricks! What was the name of the fly you were using? Didnt quite catch the name.. love your videos!
Guides choice hares ear...sz 14 and 16 are always in my box.
Big fish for that size water. Absolutely perfect conditions
I did not hear what one fy you used. That is a big part of the experience.
Camping below the high water mark? You were rolling the dice Drew. Flash floods can occur anywhere in the Rocky Mountains. Still a great video though.
It’s a dry/dropper, but what are the tandem flies?
Which fly i see your strike indicator
Really enjoy your vids. I'd love to take off and spend some time chasing trout. Ever been to San Juan in NM?
There's something very spooky about walking up to a piece of water and just knowing it's going to happen.
Great footage. What camera do you film with. It looks great .
Hi Drew.
Marlon all the way from South Africa. Just wondering if you have ever fished internationally. Maybe you would like to come try our streams in the eastern cape or in Cape Town.

Whats the rig? Small nymph and a split shot?
Drew, thanks for all the info you provide. Question about your top shelf hopper…With the Fireholes being barbless, what’s your approach for tying in the dropper/nymph?
Hey Drew, how about all the beautiful lakes and ponds out there? Do you ever think about camping and fishing in a still water environment?
I do but the changing views sounds of a stream usually draw my interest more.
Muddler minnow, black ant, wooly booger......my favs
Solid choices!
@@LooknFishy yeah, that muddler with a small splitshot just ahead of hook eye can be devastating....that ain't no joke
That looks l8ke a place i fish in the roscoe area.
How far above the fly are you placing the split shot?
6 to 8 inches about the fly. I like Dinsmore removable shot also bc they are easy to pry open and remove as u fish different runs.
What are you using for an indicator? It seems to stay afloat really nicely. Thx
Love that spot
Definitely a good one!
What’s that tent tarp setup?
I walk thru it in this video. Super basic painters poles and my hammock rainfly. ua-cam.com/video/H-uTLsbEDRw/v-deo.html
Love your clips bud! I’m a lot like you … traveling around camping and fishing! I hope I run into you sone day and we can throw sone bugs together! Cheers stay well.

the best time to fish cloud cover
" I'm using a simple one fly, one #6 split shot.", but but I see an indicator in the video. Is that right?
most likely the Dorsey as he’s used it before. killer indicator.
Yup, I was fishing a dorsey yarn indicator.
🔵awesome 🔵
Oh boy! A fifteen minute video with one minute of information
indicator and weights - all the 2024 fly fisherman needs to convert his specialized equipment back to a mooching rig!
What part of Idaho is this? Live in SLC and would love to go fish these spots
Jealous of all those cuts, I gotta get somewhere to catch them. Only Browns and Brookies here....
Crazy to think but I went weeks only finding streams with cutts.
Get to it.
That hole @11:30 was loaded!!!
That was a fun spot!
What he said.
What state please
Anyone else exclusively use 1 fly rigs?
As a hunter, I eat them.....

We are not here to listen to your lecture
Don't really care squid. Don't like your giving away our secret spots.
Stop the rambling talking and show us the fishing.....
